  • I watched this back in summer and it inspired me to start a "scrap book" type thing when I left for my year abroad. Almost 6 months in and 2 countries down, I am still keeping up to date with it and I love it, so thank you for that! :)

  • I have lots of journals too x most of them are sketch books but they are a few odd diary entries slices between my drawings. keep on journaling :)

  • I have a dream journal and it's so fun seeing what psychotic dreams I had 3 years ago(:

  • @musicluv922 You could wright when you were 3?

  • @goatheads369 no, the dreams i had 3 years ago not when i was 3 lol x)

  • @musicluv922 Oh, okay. I read that wrong :D

  • When I saw this video I decided that I should give journalling a try. I began my Why Today Is Awesome journal the day this video was uploaded and I am happy to report that I haven't miss a day! Since I am quite a procrastinating person , I am incredibly proud of myself.

  • I keep my with me all the time and I just write what happens...(: and I love the one with the owl!!(:

  • LOVE the one with the OWL <3 :D

  • my journal last year was my school diary that accidentally got filled with things unrelated to school, like tickets, doodles, quotes, etc. My journal that I'm using right now is meant to be a travel journal, but is really a combination of all the things you use your journals for: sticking stuff in, lists, quotes, bad sketches, and then also for recording my travel-ish things. Plus anything else that goes through my head.

  • I keep kind of a scrapbook/diary/sketchbook journal if that makes sense. I make scarpbook pages and write down personal stuff. Also I doodle. :D Ive been writing since I was in fourth grade. So yeah. :)

  • U r like da best insparationz but like I prefer writing nd stiking ;D ur like amaizing!

  • I just got a large black leather book for Christmas ( that I asked for because of this video) and I am going to fill it with tickets and leaves, events from my life and so on because of you! I am so excited! : )

  • This is one of the most inspirational videos on youtube.

  • I collect quotes as well in fact I actually have a box that I keep them in on little bits of paper. it's nice to know someone does the same thing!

  • I collect quotes as well in fact I actually have a box which I keep them in on little pieces of paper. It's nice to know someone does something similar!

  • LeakyCon 2011 was amazing! I see you went by your wrist band :D

I do all kinds of things to journals ^.^ I have over 100....

  • I use to have ones for dreams, sketching, stories, tips, and mostly the diary. I went through a massive phase when I was 10 for journals and Id write for all of them.

I'm an 8th grader naow and I'm recording this year. I have one from 7th (first year of middle school!!!) and ill go on until im an adult and officaly start working and all that ^_^ i wanna start up a dream journal again, i have reallly kinky dreams :P

  • I have a dream journal, because I have CRAZY dreams, and deciding how I'll describe them to write them down helps me to remember them (:

  • This is like my life in a video. haha glad to know I'm not the only one who does this.

  • i kept a diary from 5th grade till 8th grade

then i documented most of my freshamn yr then i stopped

    don't really know why lol

  • I have a DA Journal and never use it.

  • Now I wish I would have kept journals. That is going to be sooo cool to look back on. Good job on being so organized haha!

  • This video inspired me now I have a quote book and a everything stick pictures and ticket stubs journal! THANK YOU!

  • I have journals just like yours where it's overflowing with things. I call them my everything books XD then when I finish one, I go hide it in the back of my bookshelf and then every once in a while I go through them, It's more special that way :)

  • Wow, I love these. You've totally inspired me to do some cool journals. I love the leather owl one! It looks handmade, where did you get it?

  • For a couple of years, I've been keeping journals which are halfway between your one where you stick in stuff and the diary-type. I keep it as a diary where I write stuff down in when exciting/important stuff happens to me because I love looking back over old entries and reliving things but I also write if I just need to get stuff out of my head and I decorate the whole thing with tickets, photos, random stickers and sketches and anything else I have.

  • I've got this beautiful journal that I was going to use for your 'why today is awesome' journal idea, but I never have enough time every day to sit and fill it out. I still havn't some up with an idea for what to do with it. It's little so I couldnt use ticket stubs or photos as it would get way to big and break. I'm not sure what to use it for =[

  • I do the same thing and love it!!! Haha, But I do have one that I write in at night...

  • I have a little sketchbook journal thing, a small ruled journal for writing down any ideas for stories or my NaNoWriMo novels that come up, and MANY journals that are just filled with drawings of atoms and mathematics and all that. I'm a nerd.

  • UNFAIR. you clearly stole the idea of a quotation journal from me? ;D aha

  • I HAD SOOOOO MANY JOURNALS TOO!

  • I have an idea log and I think you should have one too for your video Ideas. I also have a songwriting journal, A dream Journal, and a journal where I write my favourite books.

  • I don't have a journal, but I have this binder with a ton of plastic slip cases inside it, filled with old movie tickets, pictures, drawings and things I've written. It's nice to look back through it and remember all the things I've done.

  • I have a journal where I literally write at least 5 things that made my life awesome every day (quotes, trips, ect.) and I have a scrapbook. lists, stories, and pretty much everything else is done on my computer.

  • I have two. One is a journal that I use to keep all my ideas in for various movies, photoshoots, trips, characters, ect. and the other is a converted photo album that my best friend got me that is holding all of my stubs and paper memorabilia that won't fit on my mirror anymore. Seriously, my entire mirror except for a 12x9 spot is covered in various ticket stubs, pictures, and mini foam fingers. No joke.

  • i have a journal but i do kind of a mixture of stuff. usually i just write in it but i also stick ticket stubs and notes and quotations and occasionally drawings. i have a whole different sketchbook though

  • I got really excited when I saw the moria runes! when I was in 6th grade I gave my best friends a copy of the runes so we could send each other cyphered notes, nobody used it, but I still write with them stuff I don't want anyone to find out.

  • I have a scrapbook journal too! I also have a journal for doodling/random clips of writing and a journal that I take random notes in and write to-do lists in. I never was much of a diary writer though, and I always got journals (and still do) for presents.

  • I've always wanted to keep a journal but I've never been able to keep it up for more than a week or two. I think I might try again, since I have a couple nearly empty journals just sitting in a drawer right now.

  • This really inspired me. I have tons of stuff sitting around that I just can't get rid of even though they're just cluttering up my room. And the amount of unused journals I have is ridiculous. So thanks! This is a fantastic idea.

  • It seems like the craziest coincidence that whilst watching this video I'm sat sticking train tickets etc. from my holiday into my journal! I have one journal full of song lyrics, quotes and ticket stubs and other random stuff. It's quite a small journal but it is absolutely bulging with stuff =)

  • Wow, i feel like i've found my soul mate!

I have a whole draw FULL of basically empty journals. But the journals i do fill, are just things stuck in, lists, or drawings.

And kudos to your mumma for making that harry potter journal :)

  • These are such great journal ideas! I have kept journals since I was a kid. Mostly daily rambles and rants, which they still are. I also write letters to the future in case a 30th century archaeologist finds it. I've also taken to writing in mirror image because my family is very nosy.

  • well i have been collecting things (ticket stubs/receipts/random) from this summer that i plan on sticking in a journal/collaging

and i keep a diary + photo diary

    so ya! LOVE JOURNALS

  • Kayley! As a child, I too, was an avid journal collector that never ever filled them. I think I filled one "diary" over the course of 3 years as a kid. My problem is that I feel like nothing i put in my journals is ever worthy of being in them - so my problem as a kid was I would start writing stuff, and then rip pages out. I still have a lot of empty journals that I one day, will fill. This is my promise to you.

  • I have a journal that I stick and write things in. Mostly the same stuff as you, so I can't give you much inspiration I'm afraid. The other day when my mum and I were having I clear out I did find a diary that I kept when I was nine. It was a weird mix of hilarious and sad. I think the main thing I noticed about it was how much more of an optimist I was back then. If something had happened to upset me it would only be mentioned in passing, whereas now I tend to obsess.

  • I have one journal that I write in on the bad days, so I can get it out of my head.

  • i have god only knows how many sketck books so many that im thinink of buying a huge book a to scrap book some of my old art :)

  • i have a billion empty journals too (im STILL the kid who buys a pretty journal everytime she see's one), thanks for giving me ideas about how to fill them!

  • You should check out this place: thewatermarkbindery . It's actually in Seattle and they have the prettiest journals with the best paper!:)

  • Ahhh, the wonderful world of scrapbooks! :D You're *JUST* like me; buying cool journals just because they look nice and never really writing anything in them. I'd just doodle. Then I thought, "Wouldn't it be great if they made photo albums for MEMENTOS?" Then -- BAM -- I got a scrapbook. In it, I do everything you do in your journals, except it's all in one convenient book. I'd also like to point out that the theme of the first page I worked on is "Harry Potter". :D Next one is "Star Wars", yo.

  • I used to use my journals as year books. I tried keeping a diary when I was nine - It was in a Stars wars journal, and nothing became of it.I just doodled in it, and now I have no idea where it is. I also have used journals for pressing flowers. And now I have a new journal to write recipes in. .....now I'm contemplating making a journal video, I have a few pretty journals.

  • because of this video I have finally started using my pretty red journal that I bought ages ago. So far it has my bucket list, two rants, and 2 pages filled with quotes from 'The God Delusion' my Richard Dawkins. A productive usage I feel.

  • I have a journal and I write letters to myself. Like I have a letter to 8 year old me telling her not to worry about the bracelet she lost because I found it on the day of writing the letter to myself, 10 years on. It's silly but it helps me keep track of my thoughts.

  • I have a journal that I have no idea what to do with. I bought it because it was pretty, but I have no purpose for it.

  • A lot of tickets from more important things that I have pictures to go along with end up in the scrapbook my mom's been making for me since kindergarten (I even made her make me a page for the both Deathly Hallows premieres), but this has now inspired me to fill the jounral I bought a bit ago with other random tickets and stickers that I really have no other place for.

  • I was kind of the same way, I have a lot of journals/diaries that I never actually filled up, but I would write in like twice a year or something. Now, I have a few scrapbooks that I like to keep stuff in, but my main notebook type journal that I take everywhere is just where I write anything I need to. I write quotations, I write lists, I try to figure out my life, I write creative prompts, and I doodle. anything I need paper for, I put in it, so I will finally fill a notebook up.

  • I bought a really pretty journal today that I plan on putting pictures and tickets etc in and write about events. Problem is, I'm terrible at starting journals, because I don't want to ruin the book. Any ideas on how to overcome my fear? :P

  • I actually do almost exactly what you do. I always got journals for birthdays and christmas and stuff, and I would write in them for like a day or two and then just end up sticking them somewhere in my room. But now I use them for quotes and scrapbook type stuff and work and all of that. It's cool to see what yours look like!

  • I have been watching your videos for a while now and one time (before) this video, I was like 'I AM SO GOING TO DO A JOURNAL!' and now, I am on my second one, it's a diary (slash) journal- I stick things in and write my thoughts at odd and random times on odd and random pages in the book.

  • I keep journals one for poetry that I write but no one reads because I don't think I'm very good at it and I keep one that my friend gave me it's more like the second kind of journal you showed with pictures and stuff:3

  • I have a quotation journal also, but it is frequently forgotten. I do keep journal-journals, but sporadically, and frequently the happiest times are the times when I don't write, but it's useful to me to have a place to let things out. I tried to keep journals as a little kid but never stuck with one, but I'm almost done with my third (3 years).

I think I'm going to start with the scrapbooky-journals because that does seem nice to have.

  • i'm drooling over this video! (not literally, ew.) i actually have a friend who keeps a journal of pressed flowers/leaves/plants she finds in her travels so as to have a "piece" of the places. you could do that in your travels if you'd like!

  • I have about five large boxes of sketch books, alot of them are only half finished because i'm addicted to that "new book" smell haha. But it's cool to look back and see all the angsty pictures of my early teens and happier ones when I started getting over myself. Now days I normally draw random people I see in cafe's and draw when I have extreme emotions both good and bad. Self expression and stalking basically ;)

  • I love to buy notebooks and journals, but I never actually do anything with them. I always want to, but I dont. I Kinda wanna start doing the gluing thing though, and maybe a Why today is awesome, cause I am one of those people who has a tendency to focus on the notsome of the day. One little thing ruins my whole day

  • I have a dream journal. Filled with my well dreams.

  • @owlssayhooot , the thing on the shelf? :L

  • @bedonkadonkdonk Oh, no. It's a Proclamation board from Harry Potter, haha.

  • @owlssayhooot , is that a Proclaimers CD I see? :o

  • @bedonkadonkdonk Umm, no...Sorry. What are you referring to? Haha.

  • I have way too many journals... I rarely use them for journal-ing. Some purposes they have are: Quotes, lists, randomness, and fiction writing .

  • aww my first dog was a britney spaniel

  • I would read Adrian Mole every couple of months and then diary for like 3 days. Ive begun a notebook full of lists, and a locker door full of quotes, and a big ol manuscript book of angsty scribbles, and I love empty paper full of possibility.

  • I kind of kept a diary for a bit... but I'd literally just write things when I was sad and then I'd scribble over it with different colours so no one could read it.. THAT is how I kept my inner thoughts a secret...

  • i have a quotation journal too! :)

  • I think I may just start a quotes journal, I know I have plenty of empty journals too.

  • Kayley! I have your travels journal! Mine is where I write down all my video ideas, it's a really beautiful book : )

  • @hali55 i wish we were called the harry potter generation...coz we are really xD

  • Thanks for this! I have way too many journals that I need to fill.

  • I wish I had better memory for quitations, because I would love to keep a journal like that. I keep normal journals and have been for most of my life.

  • I do those things. sort of.

I've always loved... journalling.. I write down my day to day activites, but not on a day to day basis. I put quotes, mostly the ones I've made, in there, and I used to have one that I stuck things in.

But I was always one to put the important pieces of .. whatever I had, in a special drawer or on my awesome wall of stuff. There's a lot of stuff on that wall....

  • I'm not an avid journal writer, but I write anything important down! I also write down dreams :) I love the idea of all the film tickets and stuff, I will have to do that!

  • My best friend and I have a Journal that we keep with each other. We keep it for a week or two weeks (however long it takes us to send it back, we both have busy lives) and we write in it our secrets and what we are thinking, dreaming, pretty much anything and then we send it via the mail and the other person gets to read it and add their own thoughts feelings and whatnot for two weeks. We live states away. So its nice to have our journal to keep us together. :)

  • @TiffanyNico1e that's amazing! it's like the sisterhood of the traveling journal :P

  • I bought a ninja turtle journal with quotes! *nerd*

  • I have two journals--one that I write stuff in and one that I fill with poems and song lyrics and such. I really like your journals that are full of random pictures and things though. I really want to make one of those now.

  • Honestly love the idea of just pasting little things here and there into a journal. Memories and what not. Always intended to get around to doing it myself but always seem to put it off. Perhaps this will inspire me to get to it! lol

  • When do you find the time to do all that journaling!!!!!!

  • @tinkerbell456123 Well it's not like I do all of these at once. I write quotations in that journal when I hear them and just collect tickets and things and when I get a chance, glue them in. It's hardly time consuming xD

  • @owlssayhooot Cool :D You dont have school, ive always wanted to do journals and stuff but I never have time.

  • @tinkerbell456123 I probably spend about 20 minutes putting stuff in my journals a week xD & what do you mean? I go to school. I'm in university.

  • @owlssayhooot what are you studying?

  • Respond to this video... is it raining outside?

  • @owlssayhooot That's awesome, it's so cool that you take the time to do it. & haha I totally knew that, sorry my mistake. XD

  • I love this post!! I love posts on journals!! Thanks for letting us see into yours :)) I also keep journals, so far I've got seven and I mostly fill them up with various randomly meshed stuff... story ideas, plot lines, tickets, stickers, quotes, photos, anything that's interesting~

  • I have a journal for quotes too. But I never got into keeping a diary. Although I'm a very avid blogger. Since we're the generation of technology, that doesn't surprise me at all.

  • you had such good ideas for using your journals, I think I might be inspired to start using some of mine, thanks kayley!

  • my room is absolutely filled with empty journals. I've bought so many beautiful ones over the years but I could never bring myself to write in them... sometimes I wrote on a page or two but then I would just rip those pages out because I didn't think what I had to say was interesting enough to be in such a pretty journal! so now they're all empty but I kind of like the idea of empty journals, like they're waiting until I find the perfect words to fill their pages...

  • I have a quoation notebook, a journal/diary notebook, a sketch notebook, and a list notebook, a food journal (mostly for my doctor), and a little note... notebook... (I use it kind of just for scratch paper. There's lots of little math equations and phone numbers and things like that in there.)

    ...I write a lot.

  • I've been keeping a journal on and off for the past 4 years (I usually completely forget about it for 3 months...). The only reason I try to keep writing in it is because I wrote in it the day my grandma died and I really hate what I wrote that day.

  • I've been cleaning out my room in preparation for college and I've found all sorts of tickets stubs and littles memories that I wanted to keep and so far I've just shoved them all into a box in a drawer. I think I am going to start putting them in a journal like you do because it's such a great idea!!

  • I start writing these all the time, I'll go to stores and see journals that I like and think 'Oh, I could use this for suchandsuch! That'd be so cool!' but never actually use them for more than a few pages. Yours seem so lovely, I wish I could finish mine. Maybe I'll try again. :)

  • Oh, and also, I love to sketch fashion, cars, and just whatever is on my mind. I have taken to doing that in the margins of my class notebooks, and sometimes I save those pages for my journals. I draw tattoo ideas (that I will never get) and I also like designing scenes.

You should do a photo-recreation sketch book. take some of your favourite photographs and try to recreate them. and paste the original next to it! Only if you'd like, of course :]

    QUESTION: are you in university?

  • I like your journals! I especially like the quote one, so I think I will get one for that purpose

Over the years, I have had many journals that I thought looked cute. Like you, I didn't really use them for writing. Once in a while I will find an old journal from fourth grade with crazy poems in them. I like putting my poems there because I know that if it's stupid, then I'll have a good laugh about it later, as opposed to a blog where I would have the urge to delete it out of embarrassment :P

  • This is probably going to be a stupid question, but do you tape or glue the pictures/ticket stubs, etc? I've been wanting to start a collage-y journal for a while now. My upcoming school year is my senior year and I think it's a perfect time to start :)

  • @Kittiesrkool I was wondering that too!! @owlssayhooot, How do you stick things in, may I ask? ^_^

  • @Kittiesrkool @Nishi4Narnia A glue stick.

  • @owlssayhooot Thanks for replying Kayley :)

  • I saw the TOMS sticker! If you could get any more awesome I'd need a new word ;)

  • lists, a record of Harry Potter references that I keep, goals, random facts that I want to remember, and all sorts of thoughts from all ages.

  • Before you said that Alex gave you that journal, I knew he gave it to you. It's just like the shirt he has!

  • @goinbacktohogwarts YOU'RE SO SMART, I NEVER WOULD HAVE PICKED UP ON THAT!!! omg that's soooo true!!!!! ahahaha, I wonder if he got it free with the shirt? :D

  • @goinbacktohogwarts Haha, well, I don't think he buys birthday gifts based on his own tshirts. xD He gave me the journal long before he had that shirt.

  • When I was around 7 or 8 I loved writing in a diary but I would always lose them so I kept on getting new ones but I'd find the old ones sooner or later. The cycle would repeat and I ended up having about 5 diaries all with a few enteries and far from filled. I picked them up years later and started to just do stuff with them. I never really keep certain journals for certain things so you can open one of those diaries and see my thoughts about 2nd grade, flip a few pages and find quotes...

  • Have you ever heard of the "Wreck this Journal"? I think you'd like it :3

  • I'm a bit like you in that I always buy awesome looking journals but never actually put anything in them. Only two actually have anything in, ones my old school sketchbook which is full of doodles and stuff. The other is my river song tardis journal which I fill with tickets and stuff from when I do stuff. But I may just steal the idea for a book of just quotes and things. Thanks for the idea :)

  • i keep a diary, I started in '04 when I was eight and I think I'm on my 5th one now.... It's not very regular though; I write like once a week on average..... and I have a scrapbook of random pictures, stickers etc. I've also got a couple of doodle journals. I really like the idea of a quotations journal, i might start one :) x

  • I have a question-journal, where i write all of my wonders and questions. I write some of them down, so i can remember to look them up, and others, the more philosophical ones, beacause i want to discuss them with someone (my mom, a teacher, a friend, ect) sometimes I write a little summary of the discussion down too. I love it :) I also have a qoute-journal :)

  • You're the most relatable person on youtube. I always enjoy watching your videos; so excited to see your vlogs from England! When are you leaving?

  • I write diary since 2005, I was eight back then. Now I'm currently writing in my eighth diary. I also have a journal where I stick things in it, like you.

  • I'm in London for the first time at the moment and am travelling around Europe starting Thursday and you've inspired me to start sticking all the things I collect in a proper journal!

  • I keep a daily journal. I was never a diary person but it's something I'm making myself do to practice writing. I now love it and find that I learned a lot of myself by writing down my reflections. I also am a faithful believer in the power of an agenda.

  • I just started a journal of random thoughts. It's full of crap like "Electric rollerskates would be awesome."

  • I now have an uncontrollable desire to start about ten different journals.

  • @shrimpy111 I have the exact same uncontrollable desire. and i'll write maybe two pages and then never come back to them. xD

  • I wrote in a diary every day for about three years, between the ages of about 12-15. I don't really know why i stopped then, but I still keep a scrap book where i stick random pictures, photos, newspaper articles etc. of stuff that has interested or inspired me in anyway. I need to get a journal to put ticket stubs and things like that in, because i never throw them away - they're stuffed in a draw somewhere, but it would be nice for them to have a proper place.

  • what the f***??????????????????????????????????/

  • This is one of the most inspirational videos I have ever seen. Thanks Kayley!

  • i made one of those why today is awesome journals because of you! i got all the way through my first one from January 10 to July 25? i think and i got a new one but it's like a fail.

  • Awesome ideas! I can't help collecting bits of paper. I need to do that!

  • haha I do the same thing with journals. the first couple of pages are full of non-sense but I have the same issues! I never know what to put in them but I think I'll start doing what you're doing! I just got a new one from borders too.

  • I always wanted to do things with my journals but never actually did... :P Maybe I'll try your quote idea! I'm also hoping to start putting my choreography in a journal because it seems like it would be easier to teach out of that and it's just weird having it on a computer.

My favorite journal though is the one my friend and I keep that we write letters/entries in and pass back and forth. :) It's really effective in keeping up on what's going on in each others lives. And for venting. ;)

  • @TheStrawberrygiraffe I do that too! Train tickets, movie ticket stubs, drawings, cards and all that, my wall looks pretty awesome compared to the boring colour it used to be :P

woah, i think i've posted too many comments on this video...

  • Oh also, I love the idea of a 'Why today is awesome' book! I may start one soon myself since i have tons of journals with nothing in yet :P

  • I keep a quote book too! Anything my friends say that is really stupid or random or just completely hilarious, i put it in my little quote book. I have hundreds of them.

example - 'Are post-it notes made of trees?' (I'm planning on making little cards with all my friends' quotes on and giving it to them when we leave school :D )

  • I have a "fandom journal" where I put all of the awesome fandom/nerdy experiences I have. I mostly write stuff, but I also stick things in there - like schedules from Cons and things like that. I also have journals that I write stories in, though it's mostly just ideas and the formations of stories. I really love the idea of a quotes journal, I think I'm going to start that.

  • I have SO many jounrals, and like you, never write in them. This video kind of makes me want to put things in them, and make a "Why Today is Awesome" journal, and stick things in them, and make a friends year book. :)

  • I have an art journal, a scrap book and a journal of ideas for art or stories. For art journal inspiration I follow suziblutube, a fellow youtuber. She inspired me to art journal everyday of my life for 8 months now. Check her out. Xx

  • I have a journal/note book where I write down the names of books I've read in the front of it and in the back all the books I want to read. And instead of sticking things in a journal I have a wall of stuff :D

  • Since December of last year I've been keeping a journal of my life for my best friend who moved away to Texas last summer. She was doing the same thing for me as well but we were unaware that we were both doing the exact same thing. I've stopped recently, though, because we had a falling out and I just don't see the reason to continue doing something so close to me for someone who isn't...Anyway.

  • I've always been the one who buys every journal she sees. But I never fill them up. Most of them have the first few pages filled with drawings, or writing, or something else. I've also tried to keep a diary at least three times, but.. it's not something I really like. My favorite type of journals are definitely the ones where I write quotes. I like the idea of sticking things into a journal, but tbh I prefer doing that to the walls in my bedroom.

  • Oh gosh I have sooo many journals that I never finish using.

  • I used to write a diary when I was about 16/17 to deal with teenager angst and drama. Amongst the angry rants there are some lovely detailings of places I went and fun days I had. Always interesting to go back and read. Now they tend to contain just ticket stubs because I'm too lazy to write in them, and I don't really know what to write anymore now that I'm happy with life. :S

  • I started a Why Today is Awesome Journal at the beginning of this year because of your videos. I'm not that good at writing something everyday, but I am glad that I started it because it has a lot of great little memories in it.

    :D

I like the idea of putting ticket stubs in a journal too. I have them lying around all over the place. Might have to steal that idea from you too.

  • I could never journal because I always end up disliking who I was. Extremely disliking. When I do end up journalling, and continuing with it, I'm pretty sure it'll be a milestone of some description.

  • whoa! all of those are really good uses for journals! i am impressed. i was/still am one of those "journal kids"...although my mom started refusing my pleas at the store (when i saw pretty ones, that is) once she realized i never wrote in them... :P i think i'll definitely use some of your ideas, though! haha i'll be sure to credit you ;)

  • I've had various writing journals over the years, but I love the idea of the one at 1:15 and the quotations one.

  • I started a Why Today is Awesome Journal. I haven't filled it out in two weeks because I've been so busy, but I plan to get back into it to. I like to fill it in before I go to bed, so my last thoughts can be positive and awesome.

  • I keep many journals in which I write down my lyrics as I love making up random songs... looking at my current one it's kinda falling apart, should look at starting a new one

  • I usually tape my film stubs in with my writing journal. Then next to the ticket I can write events that happened prior & after the movie, and how I thought the movie was. I also like to stick pictures & doodles in my writing journal too. Its actually not really a journal though, its a three-ring binder-- then I can just put whatever sort of paper I want in it.

  • WELL, I am a crazy journaler. A journaler of angst. Most intensively since my last year of high school. I started the one you got be for Christmas at the end of July and I'm almost done with it! Also I love the idea of a quotation journal. And I wish I had taken more time to look through your fashion journal. I remember you sticking some stuff in there when I was visiting.

  • @marionhoney Damn girl, you are speedy! And it isn't full, so it'll probably be coming to London.

  • Erm, why did you not request that I write something in your Con journal. You know how prolific a writer I am. KNEW WE WEREN'T FOR REAL FRIENDS.

  • @marionhoney I didn't take it out at all during Vidcon. I FAILED. :( London, man, it's coming.

  • Kayley, your pre-roll is KFC...

  • @marionhoney H8 LYFE.

  • Because I have such rotten luck in the kitchen, I keep a recipe journal of the recipes I use that happen to go right. By right, it has to taste good and not make anybody feel ill.

  • What I've done with my journal is I set my self a challenge to do 1 confession each day for a year just to look back on so I can see how I felt back then and all my thoughts and yunno... shit :D

  • This is a brilliant idea. Especially the quotation one. I have a bunch of leather bound journals that I get cause I just like the look of them. I should really do something with them.

  • As soon as I saw that journal, I immediately thought of Alex, because of his shirt. Then you said it was a gift from him, and my mind was quite literally blown. I had to stop the video and write this comment before watching the rest. :)

  • I also collect journals, and also never use them...

  • I do the quote journal too :P and I have a scrapbook type notebook with stickers and ticket stubs... and I have a travel one... and I have a yearbook notebook too because I never buy them XD I also have a prayer journal, and that's the one I use the most. Also, where'd you get the one with the owl on the front?? I wanna get myself one...

  • @CodenameJD thats awesome

  • Ah, I love doing this! I'm one of these people who LOVE notebooks. #suchageek. But I always ruin them by writing untidily in them on the first page then I can't write in them any more because the first page is ruined and that's a very, very sad time. Sticking things in them is such an easy way out! But I do actually have a notebook that I do write in, but that's the exception. I love the idea of a friendbook! Ah my notebook craving is growing! Need. A. Paperchase.
