You are one in million bro... Flawless messing around your kit :) Loved the transition between the toms while buzzing the snare at the start (that may not be a big deal for you and others but it is for me) Keep entertained and entertaining us :)
The kit uses normal rims which have a rubber covering. This wears quite quick on the snare pad and I started using a clear vinyl as a replacement. I then used that for the rest of the toms to make it all look the same but I have since gone back to the black rubber covers because they are quieter and have better bounce for the sticks.
Other people like them but at the end of the day, its all down to personal taste. Kit does sound thin in the video even through a half decent speaker system but in its defense, put it through a PA straight from the module and its a different thing all together, thats why I offer the kits for people to try and use, so they can see and hear what they are really like.
Hey dude you said this is the standard TD20 would you be as so kind to send me the settings for this kit cause Im in love with it. I emailed you some moons ago but I had a TD8. Thanks in advance dude.
They are in the UK but cheaper in other countries so its worth looking around and remember to consider import costs. It also depends on which country you live in to start with

Hallo, I`am Frank from Germany.....I have the TD-20 since a week....can you tell me ....how do you make this VERY good Snare Sound in this Video....Thank you.
A Roland RMC-6 is what you are looking for. This will let you expand your inputs but I dont think you can use the COSM feature on these inputs, you just get the stock sound. Worth looking into though. Thanks for watching.
how did u get metal rim shots? great job man! im plannin on getting the TD20 or 10..not sure yet :P but nice work! can u help me please..im wondering how to get as lose on the sticks as u...im pretty close but i still need work :P thanks
My rims have clear vinyl tubbing on them, so rims shots still work ok. As for getting loose, I find some people tense or grip to much cause the worry about dropping sticks or making mistakes. Ive been playing 25 years and Im well past worring about things like that and I think that helps. Apart from that just keep playing and enjoying it, that will help the most. Thanks for the kudos.
thanks..but the thing is..i dont tense up or worry at all. i have been playing for 5 years now. and i was wondering if you ahve anytips on fast playing lyk u..Thanks
Thats good. All I can say is keep practicing and playing as much as possible. Stretch your body before playing as well, this will loosen you up more for playing. Speed is a gradual thing, dont aim for speeds you can maintain, play what you can and build from their. As they say, dont run before you can walk. I was not always fast either.
I just bought a set of luggage cases from ebay and then linned them with thick foam. I then got a smaller case for the module and I get everything in except the rack. This All cost lest than £100.
You are right. I never play traditional, always matched and when I do swap for a change, I am more comfortable doing it the wrong way round. Its not really wrong, just reveresed and I can play just as well (or bad) this way LOL.
you should do whatever feels comfortable. i used to do it the wrong way too but it doesnt really matter. its not like its gonna hurt anything. p.s. your drumming is very good. i have a tama rockstar and hopefully i will be able to upload somestuff near christmas.
I used an iRiver H120 mp3 player which can record via an internal or external mic, optical in or line in, I used the the line in option from the stereo out of the moduel.
The video was just a digital camera. Not very fancy but it works.
Hey man wow nice video good sound-you and the kit that is.Hey are you using the actual module with their sounds or did you put in your own sounds used in this video? Thanks!
I used the module but this is a tweaked kit using the sounds in the module. So many options available with this kit, makes it all the more interesting and personal.
I still love acoustic kits too but one live gig I done outside had my kit and an acoustic kit. I sound checked in less than 5 mins. By the time they mic'ed the other kit up and sound checked each drum, an hour had passed and my kit still sounded better.
Totally agree, you just cant beat the look of acoustics or the feel sitting behind a real kit. Conversion kits are the answer if you know what your doing. Pros and Cons on both sides and both have their place.
Depends where you live. In the UK I think its around 4400 pounds but its much cheaper in America. So its best to shop around for the best price, even consider getting shipped from abroad if you can, just check out the shipping costs.
bad technique. left hand on the hi-hat is really bad. all the stuff on the snare at the begining is bad too, the hertas arent right and neither are the flam taps, work on some rudimental stuff dude.

Thanks, Ive had this kit for near 3 years and Im still impressed with how good it is when I play. You can set up and edit theses kits soooo much and it makes them very personal.
and do these things really feel like a real kit? cuz i kinda played one at the guitar center once but it was black friday and the headphones were broken so i couldnt play very loud cuz of all the people there
I played acoustics for 21 years and made the switch to my TD-20 no problem. The cymbals take more getting use to but play the kit for 20 mins and you wont notice after that. I just play as I always have, I just have more sound options now.

Hey, When im a higher grade (Grade 7 or 8) I am going to have an upgrade. I already love my Mapex though so im thinking about getting a TD-12 or TD-20, I know its early to be thinking about it now since im only grade 4, But its exciting lol, So if I buy one of these kits, do I need to get lots of gadgets and stuff to get a sound like yours? And if so where do you get these? Cheers =]
Keep working on the grades and you will get there. If you do get a 12 or a 20, let me know and I can give you all the kits I have made as I have them for both modules. Hope you get one soon. Thanks.
Getting my td12 soon ^^ i have a dw collectors, but im having to move and i think the td12 would be a good investment, at least i wont piss off the neighbours.
Let me know when you do and I will send you a link where you can download all my kits. I have them for the TD-20 and 12 and there is around 18 kits I have made and all for free. Hope you get it soon.
I have a kit made buy OCDP, they're pretty sweet I'm not that great at tuning, I been looking into these kits lately, I plan to move to a apartment soon, plus it takes out the task of tuning. I don't really want to give up my OCs should i keep em and save up the money or should I sell the OC's and get some electric ones. Either way what are some good (ok AMAZING) electric drums out the box (TD 20's?)
Buy a torque key for your tunning, they are fast and get it pretty close, just make sure you lugs are greased to keep them smooth.
As for a great (sorry, amazing) E-kit, Roland are great but check out Hart or Yamaha, they all do great kits. Oh and keep your OC's if you can. Thanks for watching.
How much are used TD 20s I am trying to save up for one.. Or possible a new one just out of curiosity.. Nice playing by the way I am an amature drummer myself.. 5 stars bro
I prefer to use my own kits since I make them to my own needs. I have some of the VEX stuff but I dont use them. I get more enjoyement knowing that its all my work but if you need kits and dont have the time, they are the option to take Or you can have mine for free LOL.
what a fuckin great drum,am i wrong. im gonna buy a td20 s but a little modified. 7 toms(3x 12" 3x 10" and one 8" v-pad), 2 snares (2x 12"),7 electronic(all are roland v-cymbals (one v-hihat)) 6 acoustic cymbals(all are zildjian except a sabian hand hammered 18" chinese).all the electronic parts are roland.what do u think about it...
Not if its what you want. The only thing you need to watch is matching the volume from your E's to your A's, other than that all will work well and many people use these hybrid (mixed)kits, Good luck in getting it and I look forward to some vids from you in the future.
That they are, especially the Roland stuff but it is good gear. Yamaha do some nice low end kits that still sound good for a better price like the DTXplorer. I can tell you though that Im now SKINT!! LOL
I hope you did not get it for around 4200 pounds. Ive not since added another cymbal, KD-7 BD trigger and a spd-s. So all in around 4750 pounds. Then I spent 1500 pounds on a PA and now I am skint LOL.
"I hope you did not get it for around 4200 pounds"........Ehhhhh Why??. This was a great price for in the UK at the time I bought it. Shop made a mistake quoting me this price but still honoured it. Very good of them and I was very happy to accept.
so cool man! you rock! the only thing i don't like is the sound of your toms...it's like an old kit of the 50's haha i know this kit has amazing toms sounds
Thanks for watching. I love these toms but I know we all have different tastes. Thats the great thing about these kits, you can edit the sound so much to suit your own preferences. This kit was modelled from one of the stock kits that was like an old Phil Collins kit with the gate effect(edited it a lot), maybe not the 50's but a while ago anyway LOL.
Hmm... I never understood being an acoustic drummer and actually liking mesh OR rubber heads. Too bouncy or too hard. You've got to check out RET Percussions new kits. They look, play, and feel like acoustics. And the software that they ship with is hands down the best sound you'll get. I started with Roland brains, and upgraded to the BFD software. I'm hoping to come out with a video soon, but check 'em out while they're on the way up! Love the drumming by the way. Excellent chops.
Ive heard of the RET stuff and seen some videos but never played them, so I cant say much about them. Roland are top of the game and they offer a complete package with module, pads and cymbals that are all matched and they play like a real kit. Never had a problem with mesh heads and they have a great feel.
Mylar heads are too loud for gigs where the audience are close which is what I do for a living, so mesh work better for me. BFD sounds great but I would need to rely on a laptop at gigs and spend time setting it up perfectly (NO Thanks LOL) The TD-20 sounds great and is so easy to use. Sill certainly keep an eye out for a RET kit to try. Thanks.
I got it for around 4200 pounds. Ive since added another cymbal, KD-7 BD trigger and a spd-s. So all in around 4750 pounds. Then I spent 1500 pounds on a PA and now I am skint LOL.
hey mr stixx, check out the td-10 vids i just uploaded and let me know wot u think, they were just recorded today after i found out how to record with the line-in so they're kind of a bit out of context sometimes as i was a bit excited, lol.
This is an awesome demo and I love the fact that you reply to everyone here :-)
I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of my V-drums which should be here this week. A friend of mine runs a music store and gave me a great deal on a TD 12 module and TD 6 kit with some extras (another tom and a CY12). Someone ordered a TD 12 kit and when it arrived decided he wanted the TD 20 module instead. Anyway, I got the 12 module and TD6 kit for AU$2395.
Well there goes your social life LOL. You will have so much fun with your kit when you get it. The TD-12 is a great module, did the TD-6 come with the mesh pads or the rubber? Either way you can upgrade at some point. Thanks for watching.
Ha lol @ social life going!!! No doubt!! My kit will have a mesh snare with rubber toms which will be more than adequate for the time being. My plan is to purchase some mesh toms later and use the rubber tom pads as extra percussion instruments with a TMC-6 added in.
I have the TD12 module now and have been playing around with triggering it from drum tracks in Protools which works really well and sounds awesome. Can't wait for the kit to arrive!!
Hey dude can you post me the settings for that snare drum I want to see if I can re-produce it on a TD-8 module its the sweetest sounding snare. Can you post them on here
I will try and take a note of them and message you. Dont think you will manage on the TD-8 but nothing wrong with having ago. Also there is a chorus effect used in the modelling so you may have problems there. Will get back to you ASAP
I just had friends over visiting and at one of my gigs they said how they wished they could play an instrument. I think its one of the best things a child can learn, it both brings and gives joy. Oh, and how much is that guitar now? LOL
Everyone has their own preference. I use the HK Audio LUCAS 1000 system and the sound is amazing. As long as you have some bass bins or something with a 15" driver, you should be ok. You need that for the BD and bottom end of this kit.
Well Im from the UK living in Lanzarote at the moment but a quick check on the internet shows it going for around 6,000 dollars. Nothing to stop you buying two LOL
Awesome sound, playing, technique!

I doubt it, not that cheap but you never know. Maybe on ebay but you would need to watch for scams, be carefull.
I would also not buy one as cheap as that without testing it first. I would be asking why it is so cheap.

Keep working on the grades and you will get there. If you do get a 12 or a 20, let me know and I can give you all the kits I have made as I have them for both modules. Hope you get one soon. Thanks.

I don't like the sounds. It doesn't quite sound right.
dwsabianguy 4 years ago
Its a custom sound I wanted and created so how do you think it was meant to sound?
MrStixx 4 years ago
I have a kit made buy OCDP, they're pretty sweet I'm not that great at tuning, I been looking into these kits lately, I plan to move to a apartment soon, plus it takes out the task of tuning. I don't really want to give up my OCs should i keep em and save up the money or should I sell the OC's and get some electric ones. Either way what are some good (ok AMAZING) electric drums out the box (TD 20's?)
Purifiedinfire 4 years ago
Buy a torque key for your tunning, they are fast and get it pretty close, just make sure you lugs are greased to keep them smooth.
As for a great (sorry, amazing) E-kit, Roland are great but check out Hart or Yamaha, they all do great kits. Oh and keep your OC's if you can. Thanks for watching.

How much are used TD 20s I am trying to save up for one.. Or possible a new one just out of curiosity.. Nice playing by the way I am an amature drummer myself.. 5 stars bro
DeadSilence2009 4 years ago
Thanks. Dont know how much for a second hand kit but watch out for fake auctions on ebay, there are many of them.
Thanks for watching and keep on drummin'
MrStixx 4 years ago
Do you have the Vexpressions? Your kit sounds amazingly realistic, much better than the TD20 which I get lessons on.
Luque7 4 years ago
I prefer to use my own kits since I make them to my own needs. I have some of the VEX stuff but I dont use them. I get more enjoyement knowing that its all my work but if you need kits and dont have the time, they are the option to take Or you can have mine for free LOL.
MrStixx 4 years ago
Nice, I see, so when do we get to see more videos of you?
Luque7 4 years ago
Just moved house but would like to do something soon plaing along to some of my favourite songs instead of solo stuff. Hopefully soon though.

what a fuckin great drum,am i wrong. im gonna buy a td20 s but a little modified. 7 toms(3x 12" 3x 10" and one 8" v-pad), 2 snares (2x 12"),7 electronic(all are roland v-cymbals (one v-hihat)) 6 acoustic cymbals(all are zildjian except a sabian hand hammered 18" chinese).all the electronic parts are roland.what do u think about it...
bariskaan 4 years ago
Not if its what you want. The only thing you need to watch is matching the volume from your E's to your A's, other than that all will work well and many people use these hybrid (mixed)kits, Good luck in getting it and I look forward to some vids from you in the future.
MrStixx 4 years ago
if u want i can send u my videos when i buy my kit..
bariskaan 4 years ago
Please do, I always enjoy watching other drummers. Hope you get it soon

iamVERYrandom 4 years ago
i love the snare sound! its just awesome! i really want an electric kit...but they're too expensive lol
drumbum2006 4 years ago 2
That they are, especially the Roland stuff but it is good gear. Yamaha do some nice low end kits that still sound good for a better price like the DTXplorer. I can tell you though that Im now SKINT!! LOL

hey man!
like you groves..funky! :)
im a guitarist and love the expression in the grooves! :)
Good stuff!

I hope you did not get it for around 4200 pounds. Ive not since added another cymbal, KD-7 BD trigger and a spd-s. So all in around 4750 pounds. Then I spent 1500 pounds on a PA and now I am skint LOL.
TheVideoPerson 4 years ago
"I hope you did not get it for around 4200 pounds"........Ehhhhh Why??. This was a great price for in the UK at the time I bought it. Shop made a mistake quoting me this price but still honoured it. Very good of them and I was very happy to accept.
MrStixx 4 years ago
so cool man! you rock! the only thing i don't like is the sound of your toms...it's like an old kit of the 50's haha i know this kit has amazing toms sounds
danivedis 4 years ago
Thanks for watching. I love these toms but I know we all have different tastes. Thats the great thing about these kits, you can edit the sound so much to suit your own preferences. This kit was modelled from one of the stock kits that was like an old Phil Collins kit with the gate effect(edited it a lot), maybe not the 50's but a while ago anyway LOL.

Cheers man.

I still can watch your video again and again, always amazing. You're a great drummer. See you over at vdrums :)
XTJ7 4 years ago
MikeyVPT 4 years ago
Ive heard of the RET stuff and seen some videos but never played them, so I cant say much about them. Roland are top of the game and they offer a complete package with module, pads and cymbals that are all matched and they play like a real kit. Never had a problem with mesh heads and they have a great feel.
MrStixx 4 years ago
Mylar heads are too loud for gigs where the audience are close which is what I do for a living, so mesh work better for me. BFD sounds great but I would need to rely on a laptop at gigs and spend time setting it up perfectly (NO Thanks LOL) The TD-20 sounds great and is so easy to use. Sill certainly keep an eye out for a RET kit to try. Thanks.

how much did your kit cost you?

I got it for around 4200 pounds. Ive since added another cymbal, KD-7 BD trigger and a spd-s. So all in around 4750 pounds. Then I spent 1500 pounds on a PA and now I am skint LOL.

hey mr stixx, check out the td-10 vids i just uploaded and let me know wot u think, they were just recorded today after i found out how to record with the line-in so they're kind of a bit out of context sometimes as i was a bit excited, lol.

MrStixx,
This is an awesome demo and I love the fact that you reply to everyone here :-)
I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of my V-drums which should be here this week.
SuperPussMusic 4 years ago
Well there goes your social life LOL. You will have so much fun with your kit when you get it. The TD-12 is a great module, did the TD-6 come with the mesh pads or the rubber? Either way you can upgrade at some point. Thanks for watching.
MrStixx 4 years ago
Ha lol @ social life going!!! No doubt!! My kit will have a mesh snare with rubber toms which will be more than adequate for the time being. My plan is to purchase some mesh toms later and use the rubber tom pads as extra percussion instruments with a TMC-6 added in.
I have the TD12 module now and have been playing around with triggering it from drum tracks in Protools which works really well and sounds awesome. Can't wait for the kit to arrive!!

MrStixx 4 years ago
Hey dude can you post me the settings for that snare drum I want to see if I can re-produce it on a TD-8 module its the sweetest sounding snare. Can you post them on here
dazlerdee 4 years ago
I will try and take a note of them and message you. Dont think you will manage on the TD-8 but nothing wrong with having ago. Also there is a chorus effect used in the modelling so you may have problems there. Will get back to you ASAP
MrStixx 4 years ago
I just had friends over visiting and at one of my gigs they said how they wished they could play an instrument. I think its one of the best things a child can learn, it both brings and gives joy. Oh, and how much is that guitar now? LOL
MrStixx 4 years ago
Everyone has their own preference. I use the HK Audio LUCAS 1000 system and the sound is amazing. As long as you have some bass bins or something with a 15" driver, you should be ok. You need that for the BD and bottom end of this kit.
MrStixx 4 years ago
I'm a brazilian ,, how much it costs the TD20 in USA?? thank you
pristhi 4 years ago
Well Im from the UK living in Lanzarote at the moment but a quick check on the internet shows it going for around 6,000 dollars. Nothing to stop you buying two LOL
MrStixx 4 years ago
That is really cool drumming. The TD-20 so cool, I got to get me one soon.
uwepetersen 4 years ago
