  • There was an era through the middle of the century where the USA led the world in innovation and sadly nuclear weapons are part of that legacy.

  • The world is a better place because we built atomic weapons. If there were no atomic weapons built, we would've probably invaded Japan, probably have started the 3rd world war with Russia and China, and wouldn't have nuclear energy. No brainer.

  • Jewish genius

  • @batalion666

Yes, but it is not much without euro/american capital. Wal-Mart has a larger economy than the entire country of Israel! Wal-Mart has a 421 billion economy vs 245 billion for the entire country. It shows the power of capital, a private store using less than 2 million unskilled wage slaves can produce more than 7.8 million people.

  • @cromartie800 one jewish family like Tolkowski has more capital than 50.000 polish mine workers

  • This video hold a lot of truth! we may think that the enemy or the terrorist need more than one atomic bomb to execute their plans but the reality is that one well place in the heart of a mayor city will collapse everything...... think about would you go back to your city if after the first explosion someone says " I have one more somewhere near another city" it is almost a fantasy but i believe it can be done! zero nuclear weapons

  • @live4rock10 I agree with you, the only problem is when NK and Iran get ahold of large stockpiles however.

  • @Arialace201 what? north korea and iran having nuclear weapons will force the imperialist powers to treat other countries more fairly.south korea already attacked n.k already, remember? did nk respond with nukes?no,the usa ,uk,starting the trouble.stop sucking media media dick and swallowing the cum called misinformation.

  • Zero? Bullshit now that we have WMDs it would be more difficult for super powers to war w/ eachother. It's a global checks and balances system.

  • @live4rock10 It was thought that the arms race before the two world wars would make it difficult for people to use them, cos all sides knew the other was armed to the teeth. Did that stop the first or the second world war? These weapons will be used unless there is global repentance.

  • @MrDavidHoldsworth On the other hand, it was thought that being armed to the teeth with nuclear weapons would deter the use of nuclear weapons. Despite exceptionally high stakes and decades of excruciating tensions, they were not used during the Cold War, indeed, it can be argued that the prospect of using nuclear weapons is the only thing that kept the Cold War from becoming a full and direct war. Not that I think that we should have nuclear weapons, but your statement needed some nuance.

  • @live4rock10 Agreed

  • @zest4lyfe oh dont worry ill let you know what i feel about the movie. thanks again dude. :D

  • @zest4lyfe i might learn how everyone was feeling but thats about it and that is honestly the reason i want it so damn bad. ive wanted to see it forever to see how everyone reacted when they found out the red army was on their doorstep. ive always pictured it like "SHIT! SHIT! SHIT! Who the hell is shooting at us?!?!" but who knows. I hope this movie shows it like it happened.

  • @zest4lyfe Holy Shit! this is the one I've been looking for. Dude thanks!

  • @zest4lyfe Downfall? I dont think Ive ever heard of it. Is that perhaps the movie that all the spoof videos are off of like "Hitler gets banned from X-Box Live"? Ive been hunting for that movie for years but never could find the name of the movie.

  • @zest4lyfe Then explain the 130+ assassination attempts by high ranking officials in the Third Reich, and the supposed "Resistance" of over four hundred high ranking military officers. The point Im trying to convey is that there were still many Germans who had to go to extremes measures to remove Hitler, although they never succeeded. If all Germans at the time were supporting him I could see myself agreeeing with you but its becuase of the thousands of innocent people that I dont

  • who unlikes this??????

  • @zest4lyfe The issue with that is Hitler came to power with promises of a better Germany, locked himself in the ultimate power state, then showed his try colours. Germany needed change to secure their economy after being destroyed in WW1 Hitler promised and delivered a better economy. He had the popular support and that just made it easier for him to make himself ruler for life no exceptions. thats when he started the killing. The country had no choice hence the 130+ assassination attempts.

  • @zest4lyfe You have a point that they did put Hitler into power but that was becuase he promised a strong economy which Germany was in need of. After he did so, was in power, and had the popular support thats when he changed the system to make him the ruler for life over Germany. he made it impossible to be voted out. Thats why 130+ assassination attempts were made by officials in the Third Reich, and military were made. They simply couldnt get him out of office becuase he changed the rules.

  • @zest4lyfe dude i dont give a shit what you call me the point is by saying what your saying your suggesting the extermination of thousands of innocent lives, and becoming no better then the poeple who wish the same to happen to us. i didnt mean it the way you took it but thats the fact of what your saying. dont say that kind of dtuff if you dont want to get into a dispute, argument, debate, esc unless your prepared to take it

  • @zest4lyfe So your saying youve lost your argument so your resorting to insulting your opponent? You know exactly what i meant so this argument is over. Suck it up moron, if you were smart enough to replace the word Nazi with Jews like a normal person would deduse then maybe you would realize how rediculiuos your opinion sounds, still suggesting the mass extermination of a whole race when you said The Germans deserved to be put in their place

  • @zest4lyfe 1. the war was at its end for germany anyways when the red army invaded berlin so the war wouldnt have raged on. 2. tons of those "average germans" were only going it cus they were afraid of disobaying orders cus they would be shot 3. your again suggesting we do the same that the germans did against the nazi's. again your suggesting we become no better then them. Oppenheimer wasnt proud of his invention cus he knew it was a terrible creation. think of the consequences unlike him.

  • @zest4lyfe Its a weapon built to only destroy. Having nuclear weapons doesnt create anything. Do you honestly believe that we should have dropped a nuclear bomb on Germany and killed millions of people? Do you honestly believe that every single person in Germany deserved to die? Every man, woman, and child, 90% of them innocent? If you honestly believe that, your no different then the terrorists we're trying to stop from doing the same to us.

  • Peace through superior firepower.

  • he looks like sheldon from bbt

  • Oppenheimer was cute. I'd date him in a second.

  • Now I am become Death. Destroyer of Worlds.

  • The Bomb was inevitable wasn't it? Damn.

  • This is how humanity became extinct.

  • The USA and Russia have 23 thousand Nuclear Bombs between us. I sais 50 Thousand.. My mastake, but does it make any differance?

    The answer is no.

  • @TheMyamax yeah it does, it makes a difference of 27000... and the 23000 isnt just between usa and russia, they have around 19000 between them

  • Time to get rid of the bombs that will kill us all.

Even a small nuclear exchange between India and Pakastan will create a Nuclear winter.

The USA and Russia still have around 50 thousand Nuclear bombs combined.

How many times must the bombs fall. We are so lucky to this point that the big one has not been used.. Get a grip people.. Lets get rid of these WEAPONS OF MASS EXTINCTION.

There is no way to win a Nuclear War!!!!

  • Didn't Oppenheimer die of cancer that was later attributed to the first nuclear bomb test in July 1945?

  • does anyone know the song that started at 1:44 ?

  • do any of you know what song is played at 2:40?

  • Oppy looked like a space alien...

  • @ChuckNorrisKratosLOL Why do you love something destructive? cause youre a spoiled litte brat who never saw a problem in your day thats why motherfucker.

  • can anyone direct me to a copy of his statement made at 4:44 without music in the background, can't find anything.

  • In mother Russia you don't split atoms, atoms split you.

  • reminds me of Sokolov from MGS3

  • Everyone is against those nuclear bombs, but let's think of their benefit. 1) We can change the trajectory of an incoming asteroid. 2) We can use it for the space exploration (engines). 3) We can keep the world in peace and awe.

    now, your arguement please

  • @aizik2005 1) Many scientists have commented that even if you could detect an asteroid before hitting earth, it is highly unlikely a nuke would do anything other than break it up and shower us with deady debris.

    2) Rocket propulsion is possibly the very best way we could use nukes... unfortunately the government will not allow them for rockets.

    3) if nukes are keeping the world in peace, then they are doing a really shitty job.

    4) and yeah... i guess they awe us... so did the holocaust.

  • @ebottle2000 I agree about the rocket propulsion. Well, Can't you change the trajectory of an asteroid if you use not very powerful nukes so it does not break apart? The third point is debatable.

  • Discussion , and certainly debate, on this subject should be preceded by some serious reading: the four volumes (books) by Richard Rhodes that make up "The Making of the Nuclear Age." Volume One, 1988 Pulizter Prize winner, "The Making of the Atomic Bomb" exhaustively covers the period from about 2000 to the end of WWII, and is a great place to start. Read at least the first two, watch Countdown to Zero, then come back and discuss. Cheers.

  • @canweshoot Forgive the date error. Of course it should be 1900 to the end of WWII.

  • im fat

  • could you imagine his feelings after Hiroshima and Nagasaki?

  • did oppenheimer NOT wanted to make the bomb?

  • @kaelyrion

The Man wanted to be a scientist.

  • real fortunate that the Americans accomplished "chain reaction" before those dastardly Germans who probably would have used the technology to murder hundreds of thousands of people.

  • Oppenheimer look homosexual 100 percent.. the gay bomb/ maybe that's why the B-29 that dropped the bomb was named "Enola Gay".. and also why should I be forced to sign a petition that they will probably wipe their butts with it, let's end with jails and police brutality before we we want to stop the bomb...

  • @transneural

Oppenheimer's eventual removal from the atomic project in the early 50s was mainly because of his past romantic and lovers' links with women who were pro-communist. He never married because he lost one of his women lovers early on.

  • @paraconti

on wiki it said he bought an island with his wife and daughter Kitty ... ?? u sure ?

  • "Its going to work Robert, and I'm sure well never be sorry for it."

WOW Its as if this is a comedic sketch show depicting the creation of the atomic bomb with how much dramatic irony is in that statement.

  • Comment removed

  • hmmmm to let the environment of "The Book of Eli" or to stop the possibility all together... the death of man is inevitable unless we make a joint agreement and disable all nukes every where.

  • Song when bomb explodes, "Yeasayer - Grizelda"

  • funny they always say MAN unleash the atomic bomb MAN is destroying the planet my ? is who is that MAN poisoning our food, water dropping nuclear bombs on Hiroshima unman drones in Iraq now he wants to bomb Iran so who is this MAN of destruction the so called WHITEMAN the devil so says THE BIBLE we need salvation from YOU DEVIL'S come lord please

  • Such a dramatic irony that Oppenheimer was destroyed by his own creation.

  • @FireTacoProductions

LOL, The A bomb didn't kill him!

  • @FireTacoProductions he was destroyed by your own government...

  • The information segment of this video is informative & well-presented. Personally I disapprove of the propaganda/politicization of the entire thing in conclusion. The extraordinary nature of the complexity of such a subject cannot be 'reduced' to such simplistic portension, in my opinion. [P.S. I will read zero 'responses' to this comment]

  • sounds like mr rogers

  • With nuclear weapons our place on this earth is in jeopardy, but without it how much worse could it be? Would the U.S or Japan be what it is today? Would Russia have invaded had their not been a deterrent? Thats what Nuclear weapons are. A deterrent. They prevent conflicts while at the same time causing them. Were it not for Nuclear weapons war would be much more horrific than it is. Keeping warfare on the Land, Sea, and Air, rather than in orbit.

  • @CutEmSilly Russia invading?? When Russia tried to invade the US?? Did I miss something? Ohh, perhaps was at the same time when Sandinistas tried to invade US or when Cubans also tried to do that or when Vietnamese were just at your doorstep. Or maybe those evil Granadians...

What a bad excuse in order to defend the existence of nuclear Weapons.

  • @joseartigas Did you even read what I said? I was bashing it while stating whether the U.S or Japan would be the same, if Russia had gotten further in Afghanistan, you don't think they would have moved onward taking more country's? This isn't even the topic... The world wouldn't be the same without them it could be much worse. Japan would have been reduced to nothing, every man woman and child would have fought to the death, same goes for the U.S. Nuclear weapons are our curse and salvation.

  • What's the name of the song?

  • Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.

  • i hope it comes out on dvd

  • Old Spice body wash protects you from nuclear blasts! ESP- After hours!!!

  • It is true, we still do not fully understand what damage we have caused the world

  • the bg music is good

  • a nuke is like a double edged sword as it kept from a ww3 happening as in every country fighting but lead to the cold war and is highly risky to keep as the world grows intolerable of them and the constant fear

  • Oppenheimer and Einstein were genius and saved the U.S. from further war.

  • Unfortunately Oppenheimer was alive before contemporary terrorism. Thankfully Terrorists so far haven't used nukes. Of course they don't need nukes when infiltrating a country, breeding in exponential percentages, and then holding the country hostage until they’re given Sharia Law is working just fine. It generally begins at 5% and by 30% becomes cancerous.

  • name of songs?

  • name of song

  • @MouserXXX i agree, most of these people dont even have an arguement with you... they should just go find another video to spam...

  • Thanks man, I appreciate it.

  • music?

  • for all the technology people still haven't changed at all. as a matter of fact i think people have just gotten worse.money is after all the only ideal that means anything these days.

  • @Osharia1978 It does not matter how localized wars become or how much of a deterrent for war mutually assured destruction becomes. The basic truth is that human nature has not changed with the advent of new technologies, and conflict remains constant despite any quantifiable deaths.

  • @bullfrog11758

strange, the wright brothers didn't die young...nor Horace Smith and Daniel B. Wesson...and come to think of it Oppenheimer didn't die young....

  • Nuclear bomb saved millions of lives. Since it was created there was no war between superpowers. Wars now are much more local. It killed about 100 000 people. This is much less than people killed by swords, spears, or stones.

  • @osharia1978

This is insane; first of all any nation having nukes risked the destruction of the world--which has almost occurred about three times since 1945.

Second, you are mistaken; there have been many local wars between the superpowers although they may have been indirect (like Vietnam); no there is no superpower to counter the US and many nations have nukes including israel; the worst of all possible situations.

  • holy shit! July 16th is my birthday! i guess thats just how badass i am, i share the birthdate with an explosion.

  • bad

  • Who knows the playlist in this video?

  • You started that, you clean it up.

  • @ZaraOver I agree. But how? This is part of all the danger we are in. 23.000 nuclear weapons all around the world. At this point, that is impossible to stop, regrettably.

  • @marc748 If a man came up with such thing, there has to be someone els that is capable to start reversing it. ''Start''.

  • @ZaraOver

That doesn't apply to everything though, example the dodo bird.

  • @ZaraOver Do you mean that ONE man is capable to reverse it? I don't think so. There are too many political interests in keepong the things the way they are. USA, Russia, Israel, even India is involved in this matter. As I wrote before, regrettably.

  • it seems like nations play a game of pride and vanity with each other, like kids brag about who's got the better toys. useless to say older people are not grown ups, but Kids with large budget to spend on their TOYS!!!

  • @erionmema1

You have it ass backwards..its because idealistic naive

psychopaths dream up things like universal "equality" and then

dream up things like "Communism" to enforce that "equality"

that Nuclear Weapons are necessary. Without nuclear weapns

Communism would have resulted in WWIII. Its dreamers

such as you that are the real menace.

  • @ehunter2 yet are kids powered with greed that seek control through politics..... managing to lead weak minds into serving them and helping them to create comunism dictatorships. (comunism- people work for the state, dont earn big money, dont have big properties, and are ignorant, if not they risk their lifes!!)

  • I thought Leo Szilard is the "man behind the bomb". He had the original idea of the nuclear chain reaction: it was a patent under his name, and he convinced Einstein to write the famous letter to FDR to start the Manhattan Project. Without Szilard there is no A bomb and no Manhattan Project.

  • Ugh... Nobody's mind is going to change either way based on comments on this page. It just starts fights.

  • It is was destiny that the man who devised a means to destroy the world was a Jew. Thank god he worked for us.

  • i say vote NO cause if aliens exist and we eventually have to move to another planet..we'd have to wipe them out somehow

  • Some guy has our lives with just a push of botton .

  • #@$@%@%@#$#$C%@$%XCX@@#$%XC%@#$X@#$@C#$@!#X#$@#$

  • The U.S. Senate is about to vote on a bill that will reduce the number of nuclear weapons in America... cause that sounds intelligent at first until you think about the other thousands of nuclear weapons around the world.

  • "The best way to keep economy of a country is by WAR!" George W. Bush! Check "Zeitgeist", and the "The Border of the South"

  • "Would the world be better off if we never understood how to split atoms? Yes, of course it would."

What a terrible thing to say! We know what the world would look like without the atom bomb: We've already seen the devastation wrought by WW1 and WW2. Note the complete lack of World Wars following the use of nuclear weapons.

Even if you disagree with nukes, I don't want to imagine a world without nuclear power, quantum physics and the advances brought on by our knowledge of splitting the atom

  • @LoveShpongle Thanks! I wasn't able to find it by searching by just what I heard of the song in the video, but was able to find it after you told me the name.

  • he looks and sounds like mr.rogers at the start-doesn't he? "won't you be my ATOMIC neighbor?"

  • the problem is if we disarm-we really wouldn't-we would keep a few "spares just in case" and not tell anyone-as would any other world powers that would "disatm". Nukes arte here to stay I am sad to report.

  • The Atomic Bomb, in my opinion, should have never been created because now look at the world: chaos and void lurks around the corner. However, it did end and cause "less" deaths..... I still think it should've been like Pandora's Box....never meant to opened...

  • @chaixiong1 I can understand where you're coming from, although we would have likely had to invade Japan with a land invasion that would have been costly in lives and extended WW2 into 1946-1947,

but I really can't argue with your basic points,

"The release of atom power has changed everything except our way of thinking...

The solution to this problem lies in the heart of mankind.

If only I had known, I should have become a watchmaker"

    Albert Einstein

  • i know i am this is like a right and wrong answer at the same time like a infinite cycle. yes we would have invaded Japan on land but America tried to sneak weapons and supplies to Britain and was caught red handed when they said that America was a Neutral against the war. They brought it amongst themselves. however, it was good of them to fight the Axis power because they were less favored by the World.

  • Hippie Propaganda! a world with out nukes is a world without western civilization. Get a clue!

  • Wat if the day that we get rid of da weapons, china attacks ?

  • NO MORE HATE ON YOUTUBE! REPORT EVERYONE JUST TRYING TO OFFEND! FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHT TO A PEACEFUL YOUTUBE! COPY, PASTE, AND PASS THIS ON!

  • Disarming without the rest of the world following is a bad idea.

  • I would like to know what songs were used...

  • @loay1976 You think that the Manhattan Project team leaders were "much worse than Hitler or Stalin"?? Read your history! Hitler alone killed and tortured over 6 million Jews in a matter of a few years. Stalin himself killed close to 20 million. The nuclear bomb only ended an incredibly bloody war that would have killed many more Americans and Japanese in the long run.

  • @DanielBass16 Not really. Japan's army was devastated, the Soviets had already destroyed pretty much all their infantry and their fleet was in ruins. Japan wouldn't have lasted long if both the US and the Soviet union invaded, regardless of how fanatical the general public was. The nukes weren't necessary.

  • I am very interested in seeing this...oppenheimer truly regretted having created this beast. He unleashed frankenstein.

  • If the radiance of a thousands suns were to burst forth at once in the sky, that would be like the splendour of the Mighty One. I am become Death, the shatterer of worlds.

  • Appeasement and unilateral disarmament will not reduce the risk of nuclear wars when rougue states such as North Korea, Iran and Pakistan continue to develop nuclear weapons and plan to use them. Unilateral disarmamrent is naive and dangerous. The USA is not just reducing the number of weapons but is also giving up its technological edge to allow Russia and China to catch up and develop more advanced nuclear weapons, Appeasement and weakness does not gain us any friends or respect.

  • Pacifist video. No nuclear deterrent means America will be an easy target for any rogue nation. Iran, North Korea, and Syria all want a bomb. Pakistan has the bomb and could fall to the radicals at any time. Do the video producers really want us to lay down our weapons and wait for one of them to wipe out New York City or LA? Do the video producers live in those cities? The radicals will be dancing in the streets like they did on 9/11. Radicals are at war with the west...David & Goliath?

  • @eprbeach the "producers" aren't talking about U.S. bombs only, they are hoping to reduce or nullify the number of atomic bombs worldwide.

  • @eprbeach Do you really think religious fanatics will be deterred by the threat of nukes? In their mind, if they die, they become martyrs. The threat of death didn't stop them from ramming planes into the WTC, nor would the threat of nukes stop them from attacking the US some other way.

  • I'm afaraid the atom bomb was a one way street. There is no return'

  • God creates us and we....... we kill ourselves

This all sounds like a sick joke

  • But we are not using these is natural day fights. So right now we don't have to worry about any of these (unless someone that's not suppose to have the bomb.)We will probably never find the truth, the goverments, hides tons of things from the public.

  • Professied thousands of years ago that world will end by fire, eyes melt in head. Sounds like nuclear weapons to me. All it takes is a nation or extremist group insanely fanatical enough to not care if they blow themselves up to make a point. Sound familiar? Wake up people, the cat is out of the bag and gone. You cannot put it back in.

  • So the people that oppose...do you not understand what it means to have the capability to end your life and your "enemy" but that your enemy has the same...so then it just becomes a "game" a freakin game of who gets angry enough first and who gets to push the button first...? But it's not a gun or a knife to insure just your or your enemy's injury or death but a weapon that impacts those who are not on your [hit] list but innocent ppl mayb ur friend..do you at least understand that possibility?

  • THANKYOU!

  • HELL NO!!

We need every gun in our arresenal. If we didnt have nukes, we would be at the mercy of all the crazy, murderous, suicidal manics of the world!!

  • @myrdale Think of we as an entire race of human beings and not just whichever country you deem worthy to protect. We don't need them.

  • @TehAl3X That is besides the point. "They have them" "We MUST have them"

  • @myrdale The point is we'd all be better off if we all got rid of them - if the idea never existed.

  • nice vid, until the end

  • @agent008hammer

It was the nuclear Bomb tests on Christmas Island, search it Youtube or Google somthing will come up about it...

  • I didn't come to view this video to see arguements amungst the comments.

  • LMAO:

    Curious??

  • i like turtles

  • overpopulation and global warming will do as much damage as nukes. So nukes are nothing to worry about.

  • Hay checkout burningcreationsnet

  • Chillingly beautiful...whoever did this video did one hell of a good job. May the message continue.

  • @futboleddy That is an oxymoron.

  • darius has a point...however no man can be trusted with such power...it ends lives and we have the comfort of sitting back and watching it happen.

If no man can not be trusted then no one is fit to hold such power thus all should be eliminated.

  • @Swiftbalde The song is called "Grizelda" by Yeasayer.

  • @LoveShpongle Thank you!

  • There won't B a World War III! All that awkward shit is @least behind us, We teach each other History so it doesn't repeat itself. Does any1 kno how big the blast was on the 1st and last? I'm sure They had no idea.

  • What's the song called, at 2:41?

  • @EirikRandrup Tried to Google the lyrics. Nothing came up.

  • Checkout burningcreationsnet

  • I agree, there should be Zero nukes in this world.

  • @Tvor1128

U such a big gayass, or a Troll

Fuckin hate stupid people like u

  • @DariusTabatabay

So, you hate all non-Americans, thinking that 'others' are stupid, wishing to get out and kill them all? You, my friend, might have issues, including fear.

  • Thats fuckin bullshit, they made nuclear weapon to get it before the German and the Japanese. They used it to save million of lives in a terrible war.

The atomic bomb is not a problem in USA, but it is in China, North Korea, Russia etc. I dont that if USA desarms is bombs, this other country will do it

  • "I don't know what weapons will be used in WWIII, but in WWIV people will use sticks and stones"

    -Albert Einstein

  • Cowards bombing women and children.

  • Dropping the bombs in 1945 was a terrible thing to do. But I would have made the same decision as it quickly ended an even more terrible war. It saved lives overall. It also showed the world how horrific such weapons are. They have never been used since.

There are far fewer nuclear weapons in the world than a few years ago. Reducing more is a good thing. But zero? If countries like Korea and Iran had hundreds of nukes and nobody else had any then I would not feel safe. Would you?

  • I like
