  • You can see pretty clearly, especially in the beginning of the video, that Tommy is using a loose ring snaffle on this horse, not a kimberwicke. The horse was accepting this bit very well; in fact, the only time you see him with an open mouth was when he was yawning while Tommy was talking. I'm not sure what you were seeing (perhaps you can enlighten me here), but I saw a horse moving with a nice round topline and accepting a soft contact.

  • @camarko I agree and I am not sure what she was seeing either. This horse may be testing the bit somewhat but he is far from uncomfortable. Kimberwicks have their place especially when some curb action is desired, but I would hardly call them evil.

  • this horse is not moving well, he's uncomfortable. it's obvious by the way he's moving and arching his back, trying to escape his discomfort. i'd like to know what sort of a bit you have on this poor beast...i'd wager it's a kimblewick...a nasty bit, used by people who don't know how to train a horse properly.
