It's about her having an imaginary friend she had when she was a child. I think it's about a secret/guilty pleasure. You know when people say they have a skeleton in their closet? Her guilty pleasure/secret is embarrassing, so it puts her in an awkward position when it's revealed. Sometimes that makes her feel like she just wants to get rid of her liking for it(which is where guilty pleasure would fit best), but she just likes it too much to get rid of it. When I hear is I DO think of eating disorders, that's just me. There's a picture I saw of a girl laying there with skeleton above her and the girl had marinet strings attached to her. Some might see a picture I saw anorexia. Art is about looking into it and seeing what you want. You just hear a song, I hear ed's So what?

personally i think that this song is about anorexia, she talks about her friend who's like a skeleton, someone who is so thin they have nothing 'to help protect the bone' if a young child (a seven year old for instance) had anorexia it would be harder to spot, lots of children go off their food and have little appetite and some children are just very small, when people are older (22) anorexia is easier to spot because if someone is thin their friends and family would be looking for signs :/ ...
