hey these are pretty nice where do you find the lips u do a pretty good job and what type of wood do u us? and could you tell me what type of sealer to use to seal tha paint , and good job on this one keep goin and youll make it big with these things
pretty nice but why did you put the middle eyescrew so close to the last one? they get easily hook attached to each other. and sorry for my bad english, im from finland :)
classic work mate, ive been making lures too, but i travel a lot so can u please tell me by what name i have to ask the rings attached to the wooden lure in a hardware store? thanx loads
ya i added the lip, i used piece of safety glasses and cut a notch in the wood for the lip, and used epoxy to hold it in, ive caught some nice northern pike on this puppy too!
If you dont want to ruin your safety glasses, I would suggest that you cut a lip from a cd-disk. All you need is to cut the lip off and rub the printing out from it with sand paper.
The lure looks pretty good. Only thng I can see is the last 2 eye screws may be to close to each other. I read your vid description, if ya want to stop by tackle undergroundDOTcom, they have a wealth of resources.
I've been making homeade lure's for years.I make all my topwater lure the same as u. The top coat i use devcon 30mn epoxy that dryes clear and waterproof...or the compony ..componantsystems..makes a lure and jig finish thats supper easy to work with and it cleans up with water ,,,other than that good job on the vid!
wow thats awesome and i subscribed to you and i make lures too i made one thats like a shad rap but i cant find plexi glass or the right paint can you help me
you can go to google or something and search like 1/8th inch plexi glass sheets or try a local hardware store, and i just paint with regular paint, and cover it with 2 ton epoxy from any hardware store, and mix it up well! and just brush it on with a hard brissled brush, and you can clean up with nail polish remover, or rubbing alcohol, i hoped this helped!
That will work, I like the gold stripe, a bigger one of those 7 or 8 inches would work great for stripers. I just started pouring lead Buterfly Jigs. Going to try them on Cod and Haddock out of New Hampshire. Messing with the paint jobs / epoxy coat. Good Luck!
Your paint job can use a bit of help. keep up the good work. There are a couple of excellent videos out there that sort of give you bits and pieces on wooden lure making. There is also some literature on lure making as well. You just have to look hard and put all the pieces together. Good luck!!!
