If neither of you have made a move yet, then try smiling if you catch him looking at you. Maybe shoot a couple glances of your own. If you can, try to sit near him, or partner up with him for any labs or group work. Keep in mind, introducing yourself can go a long way. Just be causal about it. Partnering with him for work can present a casual opportunity to learn names and get on speaking terms.

true, true. I got the STARE from this one guy. He ended up being very possessive and stalker-ish, and I could tell after just three days. I stayed away...he grosses me out to this day
