@TheUltraDude My computer wouldn't play nice with the emulator when I had the audio enabled. The actual patch won't play any different than the original game except for the whole being in English thing.

@darknessincarnate45 Your best bet there is to convince Namco Bandai Games to localize the upcoming remake of Tales of Innocence for the PS Vita. As for the DS version, a fandub just isn't practical and it wouldn't make sense to localize it at this point.

@2Puppydog2 You would need a mac-emulator for DS, then you'd need to download the ROM. Then you download the English translation and edit the rom file, then you start the rom file.

There's some very very good guides if you use google.

@chlies15elrey Because you probably downloaded a bad rom. The only common crashes that we've heard of are people downloading bad roms. So either rip a new copy of your rom from the game or find a better rip.

God this game should have been on the psp.

i mean battle speed, yes blahblah they could have done it.

They could have used the released soundtrack

fully voice the game, instead of voicing the really boring parts and only one skit.

@IzanagiFoolofThunder You may not be kidding, but that doesn't mean you're right. I'm sure there are languages where its used as a female name, but in Italian and in English, it's usually a male name. Given the references in ToI, it's clearly the right choice.

You couldn't possibly have tried our patch because it hasn't been released yet. I'm unable to provide support for whoever's patch you did try, so I'm afraid that I can't answer your question. I would recommend asking wherever you downloaded it.

Hey, this is pretty cool! After Tales of the Tempest, I was worried that future DS Tales titles would be awful. Even better, there is a translation project going on. Can someone tell me, how this will exactly work? Emulation with the DS is VERY slow, so I am assuming you need to get a DS Cart, right?

I have already a copy of the game. Stopped playing it a while back. Unlike Tales of the Tempest, where I got a good gist of the story, somehow Tales of Innocence just confused the hey out of me. I have no clue why.

Anywho, this looks already pretty good. Can't wait to play ToI in English. Of course, during that time, I'll probably be trying to figure out how to patch it on my DS, don't really want to play on my computer.

Either you don't have the emulator set up properly or your computer isn't powerful enough to run it at full speed. I don't use an emulator though, so I'm afraid I can't really help you.

Nope. A patch will be made available when the translation is complete. However, we will never support the distribution of a pre-patched rom.

Yes, Tales of Innocence draws from a variety of mythologies. Both Hypnos and his brother Thanatos come from Greek mythology.

The stuff on the website represents Namdai's romanizations of the name. Almost every time that a Tales game has been localized, some of those names have been altered. We felt that certain names in Innocence did not match the intended names, so we corrected the ones that we considered incorrect. None of the names have been "changed", simply reinterpreted.

Simply because that's how his name is when romanized. Of course, you don't have to change the name and I never expected you to change it just because of that anyways. Keep up the great work.

The Japanese can be correctly romanized as Luca, Ruca, Ruka, Luka, or possibly other ways as well. If you're going by straight katakana->romaji transcription by standard methods, his name is "ruka", not "ruca".
