  • this stuff is ACE!!!!!! freaking love Firkins. monster!

  • This blew me away back in 1990, and still blows me away today. Fantastic player.

  • I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Holy smokes! Thanks for posting this! I lost this CD about a decade ago...I listened to this song almost every night in high school...amazing technique and flavor.

  • i,ts great amazing

  • so damn expressive

  • un grande!!! temaso'

  • Everything off his 1990 album (like this song) is absolutely amazing, but I was disappointed to find that his style seems to have changed quite a bit since then. at least I don't care for any of his other albums, what a shame

  • @yummypaint Well, I don't know. I think it is very cool that he made this music; perhaps he just felt that there wasn't anything else he could do with the style?

  • Reminds me of so much good times with a very good friend of mine....

Du fehlst mir Martin.Zeiten ändern sich und wir werden älter.

Lass uns wieder rocken Dude und Gras rauchen wie in den guten alten Zeiten Bro!

Hoffe es geht dir Gut wo immer du bist...

    Ingo

  • I lived with his bro for 6 years, and saw him atleast once a year.........one of the nicest, modest guys I have ever met.

  • IMO one of the e best guitar instrumentals ever.

  • Live across the street from his family. Never knew the guy was so good for the longest time. He is so humble. I see him from time to time and yes, he is the shit!

  • Just heard this song today on pandora...Amazing instrumental, reminds me of Jason Becker's vibrato and use of the bar somewhat. Awesome melody none the less. Probably the only player who can play Jason's stuff and have the same feeling. The End of the Beginning on Jason's Perspective album played by MLF enough said.

  • GOD those harmonics! I've never heard them scream and wail quite like that before.

  • Great, ... Really got me and I hear it nearly everyday. Ferkins is great. Thanks for uploading!

  • Love his tone..

  • Agree MoCat....humble guy...and amazing to watch play sets like this from 5 feet away!!!

  • back in 1989 when i was 14, our local radio channel in malaysia used this song as an intro to some sort of weekly chart program.....

million thanks to the fella who put this song here........really miss mlf song...

  • awesome

  • I had the privlege of seeing him live in a small music store when I was 18..which was exactly 20 years ago! Still have the autograph!

  • Saw him at the National Guitar Summer Workshop back around 89 (they used to have guest players there frequently) and my buddy got to jam with him. Very nice guy. No attitude at all. Fantastic live.

  • Bah - just realized I posted the same thing in the other MLF vid. Sorry for the spam ppl - it was just really cool at the time, so MLF always reminds me of that jam lol.

  • melody feel like Vinnie moore but different in detail.

  • Great song !!!! just great !!!

  • I love the main theme !!

  • the sound of great things happening!

  • I did my best to tab the intro, the timing might not be perfectly tabbed but at least you'll know the right notes;)

if you want them just ask for it:P

  • Hi there, I'd like to check it out. Perhaps we could put it as a link in the blurb above?

  • sure, no problem. how do you do that??:P

and how can i send them to you?

  • Oh, that's no problem! Perhaps it would be best if you hosted it online and sent me the link?

  • I found out about Michael from his guitar work in End of the Beginning on Perspectives. He really is an amazing player.

  • Good stuff! I think End of the Beginning is astonishing playing! Some of those notes he hits..wow!

  • Micheal is an awesome guitar player. Everything he does is fantastic.

  • me and my band did a cover of this song.

I play the lead part, and this song is damn hard to play with such precision and all these harmonics. god i love this song:P

  • sounds cool! Yeah, I can't think of many guitarists who get those kind of harmonics.

  • he's the man

  • He is one obscure name in the guitar world, not many people (including guitarists) have heard of him. However, he is a brilliant guitarist, one of the few who could shred using mild overdrive instead of crunching distortion.

  • the best michael lee firkins's song !!!

  • My favorite Firkins instrumental, although that's a rough part of Omaha!!

  • Omg really tabs? :D

  • one of my fav songs.. awesome style.

  • Really rock ! That's why I like. We need Rock ! Thanks to post it.

  • such an uplifting tune...genius musicianship!

  • He'd do for EVH in a pinch, dontchya think?

  • they're two completely different players. for one, firkins is light years ahead of EVH as a guitarist and secondly, unfortunately MLF doesn't play like this anymore.

  • I think there is alot of similarity in their playing. Or, was. Tone, technique, etc. And yes, bummer that MLF doesn't play this style anymore. :(

  • their technique's are very different. eddie plays like a rock player whereas firkins plays like a country player. All his playing is for the most part hybrid picked because he doesn't use a guitar pick.

  • :) awesome shit!

  • omg! thanks for posting this... i really love this song... you can really hear how he makes love to the guitar(lol) xP
