The screen is Super LCD but the resolution is QHD (960 by 540) it's too bad that none of the Canadian wireless company (telus , videotron, wind and all) don't have this phone in the white version :(. Awesome review and I was wondering if you could make a comparison review between this phone and the iPhone 4s I know the amaze is way more powerful and can do a lot more of thing but I wanna see it ^.^
@AnimalLuva4000 Hi! The HTC A4G has a 2MP front-facing camera. The quality is good, but since there is no LED light, it suffers in low-light conditions (any camera does). The resolution in perfect for Skype and VoIP apps, just keep your area somewhat illuminated. Cheers!
@WirelessInsider Great view, I have acouple of questions, Does this phone support video Flash content? and does it have a google map applications on it?
@ullyis Hello! Yes, it does have Adobe Flash in the browser, version 10.2. And yes, it not only has Google Maps on it, but also a pretty-cool navigation system that resembles that of an in-car GPS unit. Google Galaxy also works *very* well with it.
@punkdanielok Hi! This gets tricky. If you take a look at TMobile's site, it shows their A4G has the following frequencies: 850/900/1800/1900 (GSM) + 850/1700/2100 (UMTS/HSPA). It does NOT have the necessary 900MHz for HSPA, so in this case, the phone will work with Fido, but data may operate at 2G/3G speeds. Telus' version does indeed use the necessary 850/1900MHz HSPA+ frequencies, so it would work best on Fido. Both will work with Fido when unlocked, it's just a batter of which one is "best".
I've seen a few of your reviews and I think they are really well done. I like that at the end you mention the small things that you might normally miss or could be make or break issues with each phone. I live in BC and am debating between the Galaxy S2 X and the Amaze 4G.
@muziqman100 Hello! Well thank you for the nice words! It's a tough choice though, between the GS2X and A4G, that's for sure. The good news is no matter which of the two you choose, it'll be a great device. Cheers! :)
@smiththomas15 Hi! Yes you can, however to get it at the promotional rate of $100 on a 3-year term, you need data. The price is different without data, or you can do what you want if you purchase it outright. Cheers!
I Have A Question .. On All The Reviews I've Watched On The Htc Amaze 4G ,There Have Been No Included Headphones . May I Ask Where Yours Was Purchased From And Why That May Be ?
@smiththomas15 Hello! The headphones came in the box with the phone. If a different provider is offering the same phone, and those headphones aren't included in the box, it may have to do with who you get the phone from! That's odd though...typically in-box accessories are consistent across carriers but who knows! FYI, although the headphones come with media controls, they are the "standard" earbuds, not rubber/silicon. Cheers!
@mooshack Hi! Telus' version of this phone has a manufacturer's rated peak download speed of 42mbps, and uses the necessary 850/1900 HSPA+ frequencies to work on the Rogers network. However, this does NOT mean it is LTE compatible. In short, yes it will work with Rogers when unlocked, but not at LTE speeds. Still, 42mbps top speed (about 11mbps practical) is still exceptionally fast. Thanks!
@ryanthehitmanhatton Hi! I have only had both phones for a few days, and it takes over a week for the battery to regulate so I cannot speak for the long-term...but from what I've seen, they were very similar. Seems only logical...the battery on the GS2X is slightly larger than the A4G, but so is its screen. So basically, we have a 4.5" display with a slightly larger battery, and a 4.3" display with a slightly smaller battery. I did not notice any significant differences. Thanks!
@zalinther Hi, and thank you! Yes it can. You can protect the phone in three ways: 1) pattern lock, 2) numeric lock, or 3) alphanumeric lock. Cheers!
i didn't get headphones with mine!!

I'm curious, do the camera and camcorder buttons work as shutter buttons, or only to open the applications?
OrkyBorkyGorky 1 month ago
@OrkyBorkyGorky Hi! There are two buttons, one for pictures and the other for video. Both act as shutter buttons as well when the camera is launched.

How is the front facing camera on this? Because I plan on using Skype, so I want a phone which has a decent camera. :]

Is it compatible to Fido Canada?
I heard that someone just tried to put a Fido sim card in it and it works on both callings and data,
that guy said that the instructions on the box missed to stated some frequency, thats why nobody know that it can be used with more carriers.
P.S.: I am talking about the Tmobile version HTC Amaze.

Quick Unlock question: If unlocked, will this phone work on Rogers? Will it be able to use Rogers' LTE speeds?
Thanks!!!

Can this phone be password locked like the Blackberry devices?
I'm new to android devices. I wouldn'y want all my friends unlocking my phone if I choose to get this phone. Thanks.
