I love the Constitution of the United States as much as anyone. Which, ironically, is why I am so adament about defending the populaces' right to assemble and protest what they feel is a corporations egregious attack on said rights. But how can you talk about first ammendment rights and in the same breath attack those who use it's protection to combat what is a clear threat to it?
How can stopping Anonymous's protests possibly help anyone? (Other than COS) Filing a restraining order against anonymous protesters is the very definition of suppresion of free speech. Anonymous is by definition no one and everyone. Their unique orginizational structure allows for anyone and everyone to be a part of this cause (if they so choose) without fear of being personally attacked. When there is no person attached to a statement or idea, the idea itself is all that matters.
Without personal differences we are free to discuss important matters in a free and open environment. Free from stereotypes and personal prejudices. The IDEA becomes the focus of conversation, not the person who proposed it. That is the essence of free speech, that all IDEAS shall be heard. It's not supposed to be about the people who speak them, it's about what they have to say. So how DARE you attack the members of Anonymous for atttempting to give their words and ideas center stage.
In my opinion, no reasonable person could dispute the documented crimes/attrocities/human rights violations of the COS. And most importantly to this conversation, no one reasonable person could claim the moral high ground while discredtiting the right of Anonymous to make these crimes against humanity known to the general public. If it's the latter, then the only basis i could think of is the belief that there's something not right going on in CoS then it could in theory. Otherwise, not necessary to do cuz Anonymous a religion... would be awkward ._.

I thank you for your applause. However the bigoted rhetoric seems, to me, to be the minority rather than the majority. You are however correct in stating that those (who I believe to be in the minority) give Americans and especially Anonymous a bad name. But from what I understand to be the nature of Anonymous (No traditional orginization/leadership, etc..) it would be hard to reasonably condemn the whole "group" based on the action of the few.

I love the Constitution of the United States as much as anyone. Which, ironically, is why I am so adament about defending the populaces' right to assemble and protest what they feel is a corporations egregious attack on said rights. Is this the only evil left in the world? Of course not. But how can you talk about first ammendment rights and in the same breath attack those who use it's protection to combat what is a clear threat to it?

How can stopping Anonymous's protests possibly help anyone? (Other than COS) Filing a restraining order against anonymous protesters is the very definition of suppresion of free speech. Anonymous is by definition no one and everyone. Their unique orginizational structure allows for anyone and everyone to be a part of this cause (if they so choose) without fear of being personally attacked. When there is no person attached to a statement or idea, the idea itself is all that matters.

The IDEA becomes the focus of conversation, not the person who proposed it. That is the essence of free speech, that all IDEAS shall be heard. It's not supposed to be about the people who speak them, it's about what they have to say. So how DARE you attack the members of Anonymous for atttempting to give their words and ideas center stage.

In my opinion, no reasonable person could dispute the documented crimes/attrocities/human rights violations of the COS. And most importantly to this conversation, no one reasonable person could claim the moral high ground while discredtiting the right of Anonymous to make these crimes against humanity known to the general public. Their masks and their words/ideas do not represent cowardace or bigotry. They represent TRUTH, FREEDOM and the very escence of FREE SPEECH and DEMOCRACY.

Because Americans protesting here can do nothing about Darfur itself. If anything, it'd require our government to solve that, and likely then more would die, the ultraliberals would be all like "NO WAR WAH" and the ultraconservatives would be "YES WAR WE'RE MAKING MONEY" and Americans and all others involved would lose either way. At least Scientology is HERE where we can protest and make a difference.

not everyone likes Christianity preachers. in fact in my experience most people prefer to seek out the information themselves unless they directly ask for more info. hence the fliers and whatnot at these protests. the protests arent a place for religious debate, by bringing your bible you're inviting such debate.
