Israel should not have a part of Palestine because of the holocaust. But so that the Jews can be protected from other nations, a homeland was necessary.

Why Palestine? Because a tiny part of geograhical Palestine, which includes Jordon, and Syria, was the legitimate homeland of the Hebrew race for thousands of years.

Since a civil war was brewing, the two legimate heirs to the land (Jews & Pals)were given some, and the rest occupied by Jordon, etc.
