Economic Surplus - made possible by the efforts of the Republican Congress (Newt Gingrich anyone?) to decrease and limit government. I'll give Clinton one thing, his tax increases in 1993 were what caused deficit reductions, but the surpluses never would have happened without the restraints in spending, which liberal Democrats hated at that time.

As for reckless military action, anyone remember Bosnia, Somalia, Kosovo, the momentum toward war in Iraq?
