  • Love my Aztek!...I have a 3000s ..it's twenty years old and works good as new.....It's easy to use and easy to clean....being made, primarily of resin, it does take a bit of practice to get used to the lightness of it....10 out of 10 from me.....

  • Wtf... paint something already

  • don't use ISO with lifecolour as it turns it into a gluggy mess.

  • Too much talking and not enough doing :-(

  • What do you do if air is coming through the brush, but the paint won't flow? Is the airbrush worth it if it only works when it is new? I tried to clean it out with water and I can't get the water to go through either.

Airbrushing would be fun if only the darned things worked after a few weeks.

  • @jupiter321 Not sure if you're still having an issue or not, but the trick I use when this happens is to soak my airbrush in automotive brake fluid for a day or two, Brake fluid causes the paint to soften but won't harm plastics or metal. After the soaking, I flush it under the faucet with water for a few minutes, then spray water or airbrush cleaner through it. Works great!

  • Um, you pour the paint from the jar into the cup? Messy. Use pipettes. Also, Acryl thinner is just as thin as water. Best to use alcohol.

  • DUDE! The video quality is to poor to see the details properly, not clear enough for me to get a good idea of what your trying to show us here mate...

  • C`mon mate...you are too crude. You don`t mix the paint in the airbrush cup, c`mon!

  • i like how he turns his head to the camera 24/7. LIKE A PROO!

  • Just in case I'm not the only stupid person out there:

I used my Aztek for a year before I learned that the paint cups are two-part and can be separated for cleaning. I didn't find out until I bought another set of cups because my old ones stopped working (even though I soaked them every night). The new ones were two-color and the lightbulb went on.

For the record: I use Tamiya acrylics. Thinned with isopropyl alcohol. Cups cleaned in Simple Green. I've been using Aztek since '08.

  • Can you thin model masters acryl paints with water? Or do you have to use an actual thinner?

  • Acrylic paint is always water based, so use water to thin.

  • @maddstickers Not exactly, Tamiya acrylics are alcohol based and should be thinned with isopropyl alcohol, similar thing with other GOOD brands of acrylic paints.

  • @lightswitch94 you can use water but it's recommended using the thinner or alcohol based solvent (isopropyl alcohol, windshield washer fluid) Water's surface tension is less than that of alcohol and less is what you want in this case.

  • is the testors brand paint acrylic or oil base? what do you use to thin it with?

  • Its acrylic and it is thinned simply with acrylic paint thinner.

Testors Airbrush cleaner (acrylic) works well, as does Tamiya acrylic paint thinner.

  • what about badger 155 anthem airbrush guys??

    is it good??

    please help!

  • Iwata is the Rolls Royce. Paasche are very good for the money. I use both. Some people like badger but others have said the quality has sunk.

  • i got the aztek airbrush do you have any tips?

  • Clean your parts well!

Do NOT ever soak the airbrush body in thinner, but swishing the brush tips around in thinner of just a bit helps.

  • is tha aztec a good starter airbrush? i want to make my models look better

  • aztec is perfect for beginers and veterans of modeling they come with a cleaning tool and the parts are very easy to clean it is very important to clean your air brush after every use, the nozzles are easy to clean and come apart they can also be changed

  • I just got my aztek today, which is my first airbrush ever, and whenever I use it the spray is never the same. one second i'll be painting something and the right amount of paint will be coming out then way more paint will start coming out, or the paint will stop coming out completely. I have no idea what to do.

  • yes i use to have the same problem you have too. check your cup and make sure it is not geting clogged with thick paint also your breather hole must be clear i find using testors thinners or somethimg simular can help with your consistancy make sure you pull yur cup apart and clean it thoughrily ,the thinerthe paint the better the flow

  • I think its cuz my paint is too thick cuz i made sure the cup was clean and it happens right when i start using it. To thin the paint what should i use. cuz i saw a vid that said u could use paint cleaner to thin it out, but other vids said u have to buy seperate stuff to do that.

  • it is best to use the same brand paint thinner as the paint you are using to spray with, i usualy only ever use 2 types tamiya and testors (both acrylic) in which case i have both brand thinners , for consistancy its best to test your spray and viscocity(thickness)until your happy id make a note of the right mixture try 50\50 to start.

  • alright cool, i just happen to have the same brand thinner as i do paint. thanx for the comment.

  • if the paint isnt allready thinned.

    Mix it about 50/50 (50% paint/50% thinner).

    Should work with most paints.

  • im trying to get a very realistic finish on a T-72 1/35 sccale tank i have no idea how to use an airbrush or how to clean it and i need to know what colores to use for a winter camo. sceam and how much paint and thinner to put into my airbrush can you help me out
