So glad to find this! I was actually there! My dad used to play the cornet in a Flemish Brass Band that had fantastic connections with Brighouse & Rastrick's conductor at the time, Derek Broadbent. That year, I attended the Championships in the Royal Albert Hall...and Brighouse won! After they won, I went down to congratulate Derek and the band....All very exciting. Thanks for sharing...tears in my eyes...Such nostalgia. Hilde from Belgium
