you ignore the obvious. they are both calcium channel blockers. this explains the action of both of them. lyrica acts more strongly on Ca channels in the brain because it passes into the brain more readily. neurontin gives the same body buzz (lame) as neurontin, but none of the strong CNS euphoria. dude, get your facts straight. Lyrica is MUCH stronger because it passes the blood-brain barrier more easily (more lipophilic) and gives a MUCH better euphoria as a result. It is NOT a racemic enantiomer of neurontin, not a metabolite of it, and not an XR of it (3 common ways drug companies extend the patent). And patents are 17 years, not 7 years. If you want to play doctor, be a little more astute. Lyrica rules. Neurontin is lame. :)

My two cents, a guy has awful CHRONIC TESTICULAR PAIN for close to a year. He takes pain killers, OTC & opioid, helps a little but not enough. LYRICA is suggested by web support group (not useless urologist ), and it is NONEFFECTIVE. Urologist says removing the affected testicle MAY cure the pain, or just hope it goes away. Months later a pain clinic doctor suggests GABBAPENTIN. At 900mg per day, guy feels 60% to 70% PAIN RELIEF, keeps testicle. GABBAPENTIN HELPED THIS GUY.

I've taken a whole bottle of lyrica and i felt the vibrations of myself and felt connected with the universe and even saw shapes and shit when closed eyes. Im prescribed gabapentin 800m and i get 120 pills i usually take 15-20 pills of t hat and get real euphoric and slurred speech and dizziness gabapentin is not as strong as lyrica in my opinion. I've taken both on many occasions but still I love gabapentin like you said if you take it everyday it wont get you high as much.

dude, lyrica is much stronger. MUCH stronger. SWIM knows from first hand exerpience from battles in the treches. it looks like those are the 200s. SWIM has been on opioids for 7 years solid. I can take 4 of those on an empty stomach and feel nice for about 7-8 hours...literally. you can blow a little hear and there and it increases the effects not significantly but noticeably. and it is a potentiator of opioids and works synergisticly with barbs. and,dude, your just reaing half the time.

yo man... try taking 5, 600 mg gabapentin. that is the dose that i take to get high. It works like a charm. Eat on a full stomache, and drinking acidic drinks will help break down the pills faster and you will feel the effects sooner. Dont worry bout overdosing, i am only 150 lbs and have consumed well over 10, 600 mg at once. It is one of the only pills that does not travel through your liver so drink on!

Just got myself 150mg lyrica capsules and i already have a stash of 300mg Neurontins already. In my country it is without a prescription and readily available but insanely expensive. It is excellent to kick back and chillout. Pregabalin strangely causes hyperactivity as mentioned and is quite good for the gym. Tolerance quickly builds up as with any psychoactive med.
I am on this for bulding discs that compresses the nerves. it helps nerve pain, depression, and withdrawls from other drugs. This is a great drug. I take gaba with non-prescribed hydro. They go great together! P.S NEVER TAKE REQUIP IT IS THE WORST DRUG EVERRRRRR.
Lyrica and to a lesser extent Neurontin can get you high as fuck when used in supra-physiologic doses. After discontinuation withdrawal symptoms are quite unpleasant. If you are on lyrica switching to Neurontin can ease the withdrawal to some extent and from there you can slowly taper. Discontinuation of Neurontin is somewhat easier. Caution both can be quite addictive. Fortunately and Unfortunately they are OTC from where i come from.
I love gabapentin but it takes about 2,000mg to get a effect with me that is pleasant. It never makes me sleepy like you, but it kicks in for me in about an hour on a empty stomach. Why's that?
the least amount of gabapentin i can take and feel the mind stimulating and body relaxing effects are 1200mg. i would suggest you take 1200mg to 1800mg and then tell me how you feel 2hours after you take the dosage. i am prescribed 600mg's 3 times a day (1800mg total) but for recreational value i take anywhere between 1800mg at once, up to 4800mg at once.
I highly doubt this can be used as a mood uplifting drug really. 1st off, it makes you tired, then yes, it does have an uplifting feeling but it is NOT long term. just like the dizziness and tiredness will go away, after a week of taking Neurontin, the 2nd week of euphoria also diminishes. I take 10 pills a day of neurontin, 100mg each. and yea, it will uplift your mood the 2nd week, but I dont see any long term results with it. this is just MY own expeiance with it.
I used to take Lyrica for insomnia combined with Amitriptyline. Trust me after a nights sleep with those 2 drugs I felt friggin awesome when i woke up in the morning feeling like id had a good 15hr sleep on only 6 hours. I plan to go back on it very soon coz i love it!.

@thalonelygirl...I felt like I would die coming off of Paxil. It took me at least a month to recover after coming off it it without being able to taper off. I haven't really felt well ever since, and I feel like I have the flu all the time, but without the runny nose or fever. I have body aches that change on a daily basis, fatigue, and I always generally feel like cr*p. :-( I take Neurontin, and I am afraid to come off of it because of possible withdrawal symptoms.

gabapentin is just a weired drug in general ... they dont know what it is doing to the brain wich is scary but the effects are just amazing.. Hyperactivity ,, Lifted Mood. Calmness but alert at the same time. Mild Euphoria. it has to be affecting Dopamine receptors, becuase if your coming off of any addicting drug .. yo man... try taking 5, 600 mg gabapentin. that is the dose that i take to get high. It works like a charm. Eat on a full stomache, and drinking acidic drinks will help break down the pills faster and you will feel the effects sooner. Dont worry bout overdosing, i am only 150 lbs and have consumed well over 10, 600 mg at once. It is one of the only pills that does not travel through your liver so drink on!

ok ive been taking lyrica for anxiety for three years. was on six hundred mlligrams two 300mg pill a day. now down to 150 mg a day. they do not fuck you up! its all in your head. unless you take a shit load maybe it will get you buzzed, in a weird way. but it is nothing like an opiate.

Fuck Alex jones and his rant about psychotic meds being evil. though they shouldn't put zoloft in the water. Zoloft is evil. Don't take it unless it works well with your chemistry. But im not your doc go ask him/her. But several of my doctors told me zoloft might be pulled and are not very good drugs. Pristique is awesome but Im not digging Ambilify too much

Just got myself 150mg lyrica capsules and i already have a stash of 300mg Neurontins already. In my country it is without a prescription and readily available but insanely expensive. It is excellent to kick back and chillout. Pregabalin strangely causes hyperactivity as mentioned and is quite good for the gym. Tolerance quickly builds up as with any psychoactive med.

I am on this for bulding discs that compresses the nerves. it helps nerve pain, depression, and withdrawls from other drugs. This is a great drug. I take gaba with non-prescribed hydro. They go great together! P.S NEVER TAKE REQUIP IT IS THE WORST DRUG EVERRRRRR.

Lyrica and to a lesser extent Neurontin can get you high as fuck when used in supra-physiologic doses. After discontinuation withdrawal symptoms are quite unpleasant. If you are on lyrica switching to Neurontin can ease the withdrawal to some extent and from there you can slowly taper. Discontinuation of Neurontin is somewhat easier. Caution both can be quite addictive. Fortunately and Unfortunately they are OTC from where i come from.

the least amount of gabapentin i can take and feel the mind stimulating and body relaxing effects are 1200mg. i would suggest you take 1200mg to 1800mg and then tell me how you feel 2hours after you take the dosage. i am prescribed 600mg's 3 times a day (1800mg total) but for recreational value i take anywhere between 1800mg at once, up to 4800mg at once.

I highly doubt this can be used as a mood uplifting drug really. 1st off, it makes you tired, then yes, it does have an uplifting feeling but it is NOT long term. just like the dizziness and tiredness will go away, after a week of taking Neurontin, the 2nd week of euphoria also diminishes. I take 10 pills a day of neurontin, 100mg each. and yea, it will uplift your mood the 2nd week, but I dont see any long term results with it. this is just MY own expeiance with it.

I used to take Lyrica for insomnia combined with Amitriptyline. Trust me after a nights sleep with those 2 drugs I felt friggin awesome when i woke up in the morning feeling like id had a good 15hr sleep on only 6 hours. I plan to go back on it very soon coz i love it!.

i have a shitload of samples of pregabalin i've 'sampled' about a handful of times. the effects are great. there's some euphoria, warm-fuzzy drowsiness - almost like being drunk (better, imo), watch your doses for sure.. i have no clue how much i was dosing most of the time.. all under 1000mgs for sure, probably lower 100s.. after about a week of use, i was completely incoherent when i spoke.. i knew what i was saying, but no one else could.. i was just so chill i didnt give a shit tho haha

@thalonelygirl...I felt like I would die coming off of Paxil. It took me at least a month to recover after coming off it it without being able to taper off. I haven't really felt well ever since, and I feel like I have the flu all the time, but without the runny nose or fever. I have body aches that change on a daily basis, fatigue, and I always generally feel like cr*p. :-( I take Neurontin, and I am afraid to come off of it because of possible withdrawal symptoms.

gabapentin is just a weired drug in general ... they dont know what it is doing to the brain wich is scary but the effects are just amazing.. Hyperactivity ,, Lifted Mood. Calmness but alert at the same time. Mild Euphoria. it has to be affecting Dopamine receptors, becuase if your coming off of any addicting drug .. Gabapentin can make the withdrawl go Completely away. i do take it everyday and i feel it everyday, yea there is some tolerance but its not too bad.

i usually take up to 6000mg of gabapentin a day ... i try to stay at 3600mg most days tho ... i can tell you from experience that Gabapentin DOSE produce Phyiscal Withdrawl Symptoms and they are as follows: Skin Crawling, Sweats, Chills, Dysphoria, and if you take an opiate during the gaba withdrawl it makes you ITCH 1000 Times Worse than normally. im guessing its the nerves becoming overactive after being calmed by gabapentin... but what do you think?

neurontin makes me get a hyper like feeling, along with a calm down feeling aslo its quit odd. I had a bottle of 120 neurontin never felt anything , taking 15-1800 mg definently has a narcotic effect.

I found a bottle of Neurotin in my medical cabinet back when they gave it to me for my nerve damage. It didn't do shit except give me severe acne so I stopped taking it so I didn't have to keep going to the stupid dermo. Now that I know the "RIGHT" dose, I'm gonna try it out.
