Lethal injection costs about $80 for the equipment, and a bullet costs 75 cents. The only high costs come from the legal delaying tactic to hold off the execution. Getting back to the subject, letting gun owners blow away intruding scumbags would be cheaper.

No, lethal injection is cheap. The legal costs to delay the execution are what jack the cost up. Firing squad is ever cheaper; just calculate the cost of the bullets.
