My parents had this LP when I was a child. This was my favourite track, years before I heard of Neil Young! Now's he's one of my favourite artists....
Of course Neil Young's version is the best and a true classic. But the Boney M version, at almost 35 years old, is also a classic. Two variants of the same song. Boney M's version can't be looked down upon. They did the song proper.
I never knew Lenny Kravitz was the lead singer for Boney M?
I first heard of "Heart of Gold" and the many other golden songs on this album. A great album. So, when I grew older and heart Neil Young's version, I thought..."What a drag. Someone throw this guy a frisbee". Now, at 42, I enjoy both very well and wish Slayer would come out with a version too.

I just listened to the versions of this song by Neil, Willie, Roxette, Johnny. Came back to this again as this is the best version for me.

As far as I know Lenny Kravitz has never been a singer at Boney M. And I think this version is much better tha Neil Youngs.

Boney M's version is so happy ... whereas Neil Young's original is more emotional and reflective. I like both !!
