I remember how I felt after 9/11, and I gave Bush the benefit of the doubt that he would do what was right. Now, 7 years later, those feelings are gone. Just like how we change our feelings, minds and political views we need to do it in the White House. Change.

The response of annanicole29706 is very emotional. I think most rational people know the difference between rhetoric and reality. I would argue that nobody could truly believe that Obama will leave us defenseless. McCain also voted to reduce military spending, reducing the amount of desperately needed equipment delivered to our troops overseas, particularly in Iraq. The war was entered into hastily, and the Bush Doctrine (NB Palin: it means preemption) might leave us defenseless. We need change!

Obama will leave us defenseless. war is a part of our life and my history. i lost a friend in this war and i didnt lose him for everybody to say we need to pull out he fought and died for your freedom to say that and how dare you say that. my husband held his best friend in his arms and watched him die after being shot by an iraqi. so i really want you to tell me and everybody else who lost someone that they died for nothing.

That's a very moving message, annanicole. It's hard to imagine the depth of grief of such things. I'm truly sorry for your loss, not to mention his family and the thousands upon thousands of families (after all, it's not only Americans dying in this) - but I'm sorry to say that, no, he didn't die for nothing, but he didn't die for you and he didn't die for freedom. But maybe if HE thought he was dying for these things, then maybe that's enough.

there's a nurse at the hospital who is helping the OBAMA campaign & she gave me a sticker today for him. my reasons for wanting OBAMA for PRESIDENT are not the same as everyone elses.
