I'm a shotokan instructor, and to me this looks like play fighting. No one is actually going for a finnishing hit. Fine if it's just a warm up or something, but even then it's going to teach bad habits.
Make sure that you're well warmed up before stretching. You should have your heart rate up, and have a light sweat. By that time the musscles should be warm enough to stretch out. Also, of course, don't over stretch.
sooo wat is a good warming up method that isn't so time consuming cuz generally i am a pretty high kicker but after i get back from my karate classes i feel stiff again so do u know of n e good ways of warming up fast lik something i can do in my house jus plzz let me know cuz i find it a real nuisance
Personally, I just go through the 5 Heian Kata & Tekki Shodan at full pace, using short stances so I don't pull anything. Lets you warm up really fast, and work on technique at the same time.
You really have to find something that works best for you though.
yeeeaaaahhh dat is usually good but i am always focusing on technique nd form but i usually take my visits to da dojo 4-5 times a week does that seem lik it's enuff?!
I know that shotokan is all about 1 hit 1 kill, but dont you think that since these guys do not look very big, and one hit from them probobley will not kill you, that they should focus on speed just as they do here? Martial arts have to keep evolving..
Out of all the streetfights I´ve seen, the ones that would always would come up on top where to guys that boxed and did karate, I have yet to see a streetfight where someone uses brazilian juijutsu.
I do MMA and karate, and I think its funny with people like you that just come online randomly and have to tell everyone how very good you´r martial art is.
If you have been watching UFC, you can see the best example of shotokan karate in Lyoto Machida who is 12-0 and just killed Sodojuku in UFC79, other guys that have karate background: George st pierre (kuykushin karate), Chuck Liddel (kempo karate), Bas rutten (Taekwondo,Karate), Shonie Carter(Karate).. The list goes on and on.
most morons i know get there BB in traditional matial arts in a few years BJJ TAKES MOST OF THE TIME OVER DECADE QHICH IS WHY BJJ IS THE BEST 1 on 1 style
Most traditional martial artist dont give a darn about the color of their belt, how old are u, 12? And I do karate aswell, some guys got their BB after 15 years of training, most get it after 10, and only one guy I know got it after 5. But that is diffrent from dojo to dojo.
look at these fairy's dancing around that pitter patter sh#@ wont do a dam thing in a real fight which is why you only see this BS in movies. You guys are all JOKES yall need some REAL MMA in uy life
I don't like shotokan, because I do kyokushin. It's harder. I think shotokan is like ballet. Also my sian say that, but I don't say that shotokan is bad or something.
Ahh mate I did shotokan before and I gotta tell you. It's the best. I see alot of fighters these days who have terrible basics, also they are always jumping around and wasting energy. Shotokan will teach you the best fighting skills, if you wish to toughen up, go to the gym. I do jiu-jitsu now and its pretty cool if you do it with big guys
