To answer your question about circumcision being medically necessarily. My brother in law had to be circumcised recently (aka adult circumcision) for continuous inflammation of his foreskin called balanoposthitis.
Male circumcision seems to be only needed when necessarily, prevention against diseases seems to be defunct more or less, perhaps long it did, but modern hygiene has brought us a long way.
Just to follow up (with limited typing space on youtube) most cases balanoposthitis can be cured with creams or medicine, there are a few cases where it is unable to be cured so easily so the foreskin mus be removed.
From his experience and from others I have found online adult circumcision leaves paint for several months in some cases I found some people hurting up to 6 months after removal.

Sadly, I lost the fight to save my oldest son's penis from this horror, and the doctor's didn't consider my opinion at all, only my wife's. For him, they applied this little plastic bell-like device which caused the foreskin to die and fall off. It was applied in the room with us, and my son never expressed discomfort or pain. My youngest son was allowed to keep all of his penis.

Forced circumcision should be banned. I have a cousin who chose to be circumcised when he was about 12, because all his friends had it done but they had it forced on them. If the kid or man chooses to have his foreskin removed, I don't think they should be denied that, but before undergoing the procedure they should read about it, read about what's done and talk to a doctor about it first.

@adybarosanul anestezia is sometimes used but not always. There are risks of using it on patients this small. However even with anestezia there is the pain and discomfort of the recovery

it shouldnt happen the child as an adult should have the choice. People think its okay to "doc" or remove the tails of puppies by placing a constrictive rubber band around the dogs tail if they did this to a newborns finger there would be an outcry. The foreskin is not a defect like the finger and should remain intact on the child.
I wouldn't want it completely outlawed because there are some nervous system disorders that it helps people who have them have a normal sex life. These disorders are often very noticeable shortly after birth and you would want it done long before they hit puberty.
Some of the methods for doing it are pretty nasty but the "bell" is pretty quick from what I've heard.

I used to be anti-circumcision in every sense and style. At about 14, my younger brother developed an (and I won't go into the details; cause it's gross :P) infection. It was either "Cut off the skin, or loose the appendage".
Circumcision has several pros; and several minor (though a few major) cons. It can be necessary, but; yes, in my opinion; should be limited to adults and severe cases.

The percentage of males who do require this procedure is in the single digits. I see no reason to lose sensitivty in the penis just on the chance that you are one of the ones that need it.

@CanadianBroad2008 Also there are 3 types of female circumcisions very few reduce the vagina to a nub. Most are done for "health reasons" in the cultures that practice them, including here in America when it was briefly done.
Oh, and I wanted to thank you for helping to ge the word out against RIC for males. It IS making a huge difference, as many families are leaving their male babies intact. Unfortunately, we do have another huge hurdle to overcome and that is that far too many of those in the medical field are still ignorant on how to care for the foreskin.. therefore a lot of circs are being performed on older children for no true reason. It says that there are doctors experimenting with tissue regeneration techniques that could restore a foreskin ENTIRELY, and they're taking volunteers to be the first test subjects. It sounds a little too good to be true to me, but if it's for real and the tests are successful, I think it should give hope to all the people lamenting their circumcisions in the comments.

I wouldn't want it completely outlawed because there are some nervous system disorders that it helps people who have them have a normal sex life. These disorders are often very noticeable shortly after birth and you would want it done long before they hit puberty.
Some of the methods for doing it are pretty nasty but the "bell" is pretty quick from what I've heard.

Of course I would love it if it were illegal to do on a minor (exceptions made of course for medical emergencies) but that is a long way off. @BrcCmplfan Babies will sometimes go into shock from the extremity of the pain. They can appear to be sleeping. This is why the myth grew up that they don't feel pain. Even open heart surgery was performed without pain control! The cortisol, blood pressure and heart rates of a baby undergoing circumcision are all consistent with an adult undergoing torture! The original video is also longer. HappyCabbie has edited it down to remove some of the harrowing material.

I saw the very beginning of the circ video and tears came to my eyes. I have a 5 month old son and my heart ached for this poor baby, as I could never imagine putting my son through that amount of pain. I had to skip past the circ video, though I did manage to watch one during my pregnancy.

This is ridiculous, are you really gonna be against this just because it's painful? What about mothers giving birth? Even with pain killers there it's still super painful for them too. So should we ban births too? I am circumcised as well, and while I'm sure it hurt, you know what I remember of it? Not a damn thing. I'd rather it was done before I knew any better so then nothing changed when I got older. And yes, I have seen a circumcision before too

Just for the sake of saying it; yes, circumcision can occasionally be medically necessary (or even good).
I used to be anti-circumcision in every sense and style. At about 14, my younger brother developed an (and I won't go into the details; cause it's gross :P) infection. It was either "Cut off the skin, or loose the appendage".
Circumcision has several pros; and several minor (though a few major) cons. It can be necessary, but; yes, in my opinion; should be limited to adults and severe cases.

Chris, that is one of the most horrific things that I have ever seenb. It's amazing what we deem acceptable if it is cloaked in culture and/or religion. I can't think of many things that are worse than hearing the screams of a baby in what must be utter agony.

I have been against circumcision for a few years now for reasons excluding inflicted pain. Seeing it actually performed and the infant's reaction adds yet another horrific reason why circumcision on non-adults is immoral.
Many have posed the counter argument that infants will not remember this agony. To that I ask, is it therefor morally acceptable to torture an elderly individual who has Alzheimer's disease? After all, they won't remember the experience.

The argument that it prevents penile cancer or std's are not a reason to cut. For one the data is inconclusive and the same data that says that also says that female circumcision reduces risk of std's too. should we do it to girls too then? Or should we cut off a girl's breasts because of the risk of cancer? By the way the number of SEXUAL nerves in a clitoris is roughly 8,000 whereas the SEXUAL nerves in the foreskin is around 30,000. I couldn't even finish this video. Once i actually thought about this act, recently (yes recently, i feel sad saying that) I realized how wrong it was. No one had to tell me. I mean once i actually processed the thought of what this was. Cutting the body is wrong, against your will I mean. If you want to cut it, yeah well, do it (you know what i mean). The percentage of males who do require this procedure is in the single digits. I see no reason to lose sensitivty in the penis just on the chance that you are one of the ones that need it.

I have to address this because it really bothers me. You are likening the removal of a bit of skin (male circ) to the removal of the female equivalent of the penis. Oh, and I wanted to thank you for helping to ge the word out against RIC for males. It IS making a huge difference, as many families are leaving their male babies intact. Unfortunately, we do have another huge hurdle to overcome and that is that far too many of those in the medical field are still ignorant on how to care for the foreskin.. therefore a lot of circs are being performed on older children for no true reason. This only perpetuates the myth that the foreskin is a ticking time bomb. =(

I will never ever be able to watch that particular circ video in its entirety.. I have yet to get past the part where the hemostat was applied to the foreskin. That baby's screams are forever etched into my memory. Infant circumcision is nothing short of torture inflicted upon those who are most dependent on us for care. It's sickening and yes, even as a female victim of sexual abuse, I DO liken it to rape.

Hey Happie Cabbie, have you heard of the website foregen dot org? It says that there are doctors experimenting with tissue regeneration techniques that could restore a foreskin ENTIRELY, and they're taking volunteers to be the first test subjects. It sounds a little too good to be true to me, but if it's for real and the tests are successful, I think it should give hope to all the people lamenting their circumcisions in the comments.
