  • lol when he says "okey" at the end

  • When sikaran was first used in an Asian martial arts tournament in the 1960s (I think) the Koreans were so impressed that they copied some moves to incorporate into taekwondo

  • sikaran = "kicking" ; comes from a visayan word (filipino dialect) sikad which means kick

  • @eggnoy the word sikaran was also used by ilocanos

  • @13pitchblack and still being used by ilokanos

  • whats the history of sikaran? I'm a student of Dan Inosanto and I've heard of it's evolution from Sikaran and how it combined with Western Boxing and other arts.

  • The japanese travelled often to the philipines to do trade that what makes kali so great and extensive it has a little bit of everything, like silat

  • nice training video salamat

  • sikaran is Filipino based right? like Yaw Yan?

  • @youneveri Si Señor. Sikaran, Bugotangan, Buno just to name a fwe are Filipino.

  • Very karate-like...

  • WOW WITH THE ARNIS...

at the place were i did sikaran my friend is only 9 and he already knows all of wat you did -_-

  • i miss vick teaching me in saskatoon i wish i didnt move

  • ogie alcasid

  • kapatid ni manny pacquiao?!

  • not impressed at all

  • @mrscarfy me to...

  • Comment removed

  • @mrscarfy

    Second that

  • Why were they doing a Chinese bow???

  • @SenkanYamatoMaru China has a deep influence in Philippine culture and history...from food to martial arts to inter-racial marriage.

  • @unclebraddah No doubt about that. My point being is that, where or when in the history of Sikiran was the Chinese bow a Filipino or a Sikaran norm???

  • manny pacquiao!!!!

  • tg nan mu ang moves ng wing chun kung maka sikaran kapa:)lols

  • palakpakan

  • so ang sikaran ba parang filipino-style taekwondo? may narerecognize kasi ako na mga TKD kicks eh, pero what the heck, AYOS! ! ! ! ! (^^)

  • he who says sikaran is an offshoot of taekwondo is indeed an idiot...sikaran exist already when korea cannot even distingished where the boundary of the north from the south.idiots!

  • Is that Manny Pacquiao?

  • waw, c manny nag tataekwondo na!!!

  • sikaran is not a filipino martial arts its an adulterated karate mixed with taekwondo.. many believe that it is a filipino art when the founder of said art is a black belter in karate before he founded sikaran.. this art is a lie!!... in its kata alone, it is pure karate!!!

  • korea is made in the phillipines even gen.macarthur is from the phillipines. reagan too..roger moore.tarzan, hulk hogan and many famous personalities di ba bayan lol...

  • Sikaran is not a knock off of taekwondo...Its not a NEW martial arts like MMA...it has evolved distinct from other martial arts that use the feet domonantly including taekwondo...

@Rhyeszenken101 ..I agree, anyone who would say that Sikaran is a copy of taek or came from taek is an ignorant moron...

  • whoever said that SIKARAN & Taekwondo are the same, he is totally an idiot. he has no clue at all. you mean Philippines and Korea are the same? in Korea it is mandatory to the military to learn taekwondo for combat but in the Philippines Sikaran is just a rice farmers game. whoever kick the face wins the game while taekwondo specialized the 45 deg kicks called roundhouse and you win by points. i knew Sikaran eversince im little and there is big diff'rences. I came fr the town it originated.

  • saying that tkd specializes in roundhouse is a drastic oversimplification.

  • @Rhyeszenken101 Not to say what you are saying is incorrect but since I have taken the tkd since 2007 and train in kickboxing and in lil bbj I can say most fighting arts have the same techique. So don't matter if you say tkd, or sikaran, savate, or karate the kicks and punches are the same but the philiosphy is different. All the history stuff about these arts seems like good info but I'm sure some of the styles have crossed train before.

  • dRINK YOUR mAGNOLIA Melk fIRST!!!!!dirs samting bitter yu noh? vetwater Nao Yu Noh! Trai wan nao!

  • haha for the first time saw these video i though it was manny

    hahahaha...

  • cool, me likes :o

  • basta tangkilikin natin ag sariling atin...

    proud to be sikaran..

  • These kicks look alot like Tae kwon do kicks. No offense, but it seems these guys modernize Sikkarab from the old style and modernize with TKD kaarte kicks

  • tae kwon do and sikaran are the same the only difference is some are using weapons.... it's also came from philippines....

  • @Bladestar7 whats the difference between tkd and sikaran? tkd= 1980s ?

    sikaran=Spanish regime

  • well done!

  • putang ina kamuka ni pacquiao

  • uy, kamuka niya si Manny Pacquiao! Mabuhay

  • nice accent, ahehehe..

  • thank you

  • Me too, I like this accent. :D

And I like the kick, very well executed

  • Master Vic Ferrer is my instructors' instructor

    7 degree black belt

  • according to wikipedia, it explains sikaran as parrying with hands and arms attacking with the legs, I think.

  • Wtf! it's manny pacquiao!!

  • tawekwek your stupid this a thousand year old art this is one of the three empty hand kali first is Panuntukan"dirty boxing" sencond is Sikaran"kicks and knees" third is Dumog"grappling"

  • sorry bro. sikaran has been practiced in the philippines for over centuries. muay thai has a similar kick too but doesnt mean it came from tkd. this is coming from a tkd practicioner since 1987.

and for GracieBarraMICO. lemme guess, you just started practicing martial arts right? experienced martial artists learn to appreciate other martial arts instead of badmouthing them. there is no dominant martial art. it all boils down to the individual

  • "Sikaran is a form of Filipino martial arts whose history dates back to the early 1500s before the Spaniards came." (from a generic well known website)

    do your research buddy!

  • Imitate ka dyan! Do ur research nga. All martial arts has its signature & Sikaran has its Biakid, TKD the Bullet Kicks or the 540 deg. and the rest of the kicks are all the same. How else can you much modify it?

Magaral k muna ng TKD at Sikaran bago ka magComment d2 para alam mo cnasabi mo :P

and to you cieBarraMICO...No match ka dyan? Bakit nakita mo na ba naglaban ng Best of the Best ang Sikaran at Yaw-Yan? FYI, Yaw-Yan practitioner originated from Sikaran and so does the Lakas Katorse

  • sikaran is no match in YAW-YAN

  • why?

  • okay...but we don't compare our art with YAW-YAN...besides we use only our feet during tournaments unlike in yaw-yan,..they can use both their hands and feet right?! (coz it's kinda similar to kick boxing) hahaha peace! it's my opinion..=)are you a member of yaw-yan?

  • No match ka dyan? Bakit nakita mo na ba naglaban ng Best of the Best ang Sikaran at Yaw-Yan? FYI, Yaw-Yan practitioner originated from Sikaran and so does the Lakas Katorse

  • @GracieBarraMICO dont compare martial arts, it is only how you do it and how you become part of it, theres no better or best the difference rely on the person. BTW who put thumbs up in this comment?

  • nice direction.

  • Talaga? pinsan ni Manny?

  • manny's cousin?

  • MANNY !!! pwede pa autograph

  • Oh my gosh, he sorta looks like Manny Pacquiao! ^_^;

  • very nice and very disciplined
