  • @doctorhamfat WHOAH!

  • he is a master !!!

  • Great video - Otis Rush on guitar too ....

  • damn look at that mic ,

  • Junior was a great song stylist and harmonica player, no doubt. Personally he was difficult to work with unless you were one of his crew. He was a Vice Lord and somehow involved as a person of interest in the death of Little Walter, as well. Of course, none of that denies the fact that he was a seminal exponent of the Chicago Blues and an integral piece of the web of dozens of phenomenal players. I played with him and Buddy Guy once and will always cherish the memory.

  • Damn...

  • Fred Below on drums.

  • Junior is was the man but I only understand half of these lyrics. He did not talk like this at all.

  • FUCK YESH!

  • Definitely Otish Rush, Left handed, looks like him, and sounds like him. Wells is singing really well here. He sounds relaxed, even though it's quite a formal looking date.

  • @callipposhots its not otis rush it lois myers. This is a treat getting to see junior wells with the aces. junior wells used to be apart of the aces until little walter quit muddys band to start his own. wells quit the aces to join muddy and little walter got the aces to back him up renaming them the jukes.

  • @Bluestomiv This was filmed in Germany in 1966 at the American Folk Blues Festival. Guitarist is Otis Rush.

  • One outstanding performance!

  • it is otis, look at i cant quit you bby. same show

  • @blues436 lois myers look him up. its the aces backing up junior wells.

  • That is Otis on guitar

  • Junior Wells...damn thats good!!!!

  • For me it´s THE BEST!!!

  • young junior was a very handsome fella too

  • so soooooooooo good

  • The James Brown of the blues.

  • Buddy Guy and Otis Rush were great Men...they LIVED for the Blues.

  • @bayloft Um Buddys still with us...

  • Great performance!

  • Damn, I have ben listening to this song all day while studying for my exams. I am so relaxed by now :)

  • @90sRockWhore

i disagree with you entirely. thats all.

  • @whoorge ok, cool.

  • Doesnt matter how much i hear i could just cry for these old players

  • @xraylax yeah, your opinion matters so much to me, let me go build a shrine as a testament to your supremacy.

seriously shut the fuck up, i can have whatever opinion i want, who do you think you are? some superior musical authority? what have you actually done that anyone cares about?

music is subjective upon the listeners perception of it, via the pinna (which is a part of the ear, read up on it) we dont all hear the same things, dickhead.

What, should everyone be exactly like you?

  • @90sRockWhore

    Rest my case..

  • Did Otis play left handed?

  • @Kalizza

yeh, not only that, he's got his strings inverted, he plays it upside down, like Dick Dale or Albert King

  • outstanding voice LOOORRDDD

  • it is Otis rush for sure .....

    Big Joe

  • Junior's famed 'Tribute to Sonny Boy Williamson' on Vanguard is somewhat misleading. For the record, I believe Junior's style owes more to Walter than Sonny Boy, especially the former's pioneering use of close-miking. Sonny Boy used a lot more country-style hand-cupping and trilling. The older guys were more virtuosic, but Junior's dynamics and timing are second to none, and he could be a more exciting player than both of them. He was also a more powerful singer. Of course they're all great!

  • JUNIOR WELLS DIED IN 2005 R.I.P.

  • Comment removed

  • @OldGoldSoul Junior wells died in 1998.

  • Good stuff!!!

  • the guvnor ....classic performance

  • Does it really get any better than this??? Nope.

  • RARYTAS !!!! To nagranie zawsze będzie za mną chodzić :)

  • Junior did well as a front man and played with a real blues feeling. No comparison with Little Walter who gave the harmonica it's electric sax-like sound.

  • Junior wells along with David ruffin, had the best processes ever.

  • @MrJld123 i don't know....i've seen a few pics of muddy with a mean 'do!

  • simply great!

  • Sweeeet! Junior Wells and Otis Rush. Can't get any better!

  • 2 Stupid and confused people think Justin Bieber is Blues....

  • Look at them white middle class cats dig that funky blues man...groovy man!

  • One drink of wine and two drinks of gin

a pretty little girl put in the state I'm in....

  • what is hoo doo?

  • @IMightAsWellTry Is a slang name for haitian-african witchcraft, in a word: voodoo

  • @ElliotRocker u wrong hoodoo its the magical aspect of voodoo like spells and curses

  • Thrills on my spine crawling up and down!

  • i don't like the album version. it's faster, which gives off an upbeat sound. yet this is a very sad song, and should be sung as such

  • junior wells looks like a guy you probably wouldn't want to fuck with.

  • This is such an amazing song. I have a different version on my IPod. It's a 2-minutes version and I just love that thing so much. This is a topversion too. Thank you for sharing it with us.

  • this is my dope, man

    best there is

  • Junior's Hoodoo Man Blues album may be the best blues album ever. If not, it's damn close.

  • @stooben1

  • Junior Wells backed up by Otis Rush on guitar...hell yeah!

  • Doesn't get any better than Junior Wells.

  • what kind of harp is he using? key, etc

  • D harp - Key of A

  • Fred Below on drums?

  • Yes, Fred Below on drums. Him and Jack Myers on bass was the best rythm section ever in the genre! To me anyway.

  • To NOT EVEN MENTION the Great Otis Rush On guitar is a Damn Crime!

  • It's "Pharoah", not "Federal." At least that's what Jr. told me.

  • HooDoo man is my favorite album of alltime.

And Junior is one of most underrated musicians of all time

  • This is great! Is that Otis Rush playing in the background?

  • Yeah thats def. Otis
