  • Thank God for cannabis

  • I did not realize you could purchase hemp twine.. thanks

  • @seocom I do not know if it's 100% hemp, but they call it that anyway. You can find it at any craft store or even places like Walmart. I usually purchase mine from firemountaingems (dot) com.

  • Could you possibly show us how to tie string around beads like they do for the Nialaya bracelets - farfetch.com

  • @monkeystar2307 oh i forgot to mention. to find the bracelets i'm talking about, Navigate to MENS/JEWELRY/BRACELETS & CUFFS. My favorite happens to be the Faceted carnelian bracelet but its the style that i am concerned about. I want to make my own because they are way to expensive.

  • @monkeystar2307 Thanks for the request! Those bracelets are very pretty and as you said, expensive! I will try and make a video tutorial showing you how to make a similar bracelet. I am very busy at the moment, so it might take some time before that video is up!

  • @eclecticdesigns Oh my god, thank you sooo much for actually listening. It means a lot to me.

  • you can do adjustable double knot too so it would be easy to take off the anklet

  • @Futojournalista You mean sliding knots? That's a good idea! I went with two ties at the end because it gives the anklet a more casual look.

  • just wanted to confirm are the strings cust in 34inches and can you use 3 strings instead of 6??

  • just want to confirm if the strings are cut in 34 inches?? and can you use 3 strings instead of 6?

  • @ebbyirfandi Yes, cut six 34 inch strands of hemp for this anklet. If you want, you could three 68 inch strands of hemp and just fold the strands to double them.

  • Nice. I like the natural kind of thing as it works for guys and girls. I think the idea can be taken into different styles.

  • @FASTJACK619 Definitely! I was thinking of making a similar anklet using black colored hemp and silver beads - it would make a great rocker style anklet! Because of the unlimited colors of hemp available now, the color combinations are endless!

  • it's amazing , so can guys wears it ?

  • @Scorpioz6 Certainly.

  • @eclecticdesigns im a guy,do i wear it on the left or right foot?

  • I love this and cant wait to try it!! Thank you! :)

  • I can just make it a bracelet right? :P

  • @1377master Yes you can! I made a beautiful necklace using this same technique! You just need to adjust the length of the cords. ;)

  • thank you so much :) very well explained! mine turned out great!

  • @stephisonfirex I'm so happy to hear that!

  • It was beautiful and easy to make, never thought I can also create something nice, you explained well. Thanx!!!

  • @MegaKunzang Well, thank you!! That's so nice of you to say that!

  • great video! do you have any tips on how to get hemp through beads with really small holes?

  • @cardason11 Thank you! When I try to string small-holed beads on hemp, I cut the end of the hemp on an angle. Sometimes the hemp frays at the end, so I put a little glue or nail polish at the end and twist it into a nice point; then I wait until it dries to string on my beads. I always cut that glued pointy end off after finishing my work. Try using smaller sized hemp. I found a .5mm diameter hemp cording on Firemountain[dot]com and it fits just about every bead of mine! I hope this helps!

  • @eclecticdesigns Hey I loved you're video! Another good idea for getting small holed beads on is using bee's wax or even just carmex, it seems to make it stick a little better and is much cleaner. Just a friendly suggestion :) thanks for the video!

  • @AngrySackBoy I have really never used wax before, so thanks for the suggestion!

  • can you still make the braclet without a bead?

  • @NaiJorJul Well, you could if you wanted. You could make several knots on each string or just leave the strings alone and wear the anklet like that.

  • Great video! I just have some quick questions, what other material would you recommend for instead of hemp? Also, could what do you do with the ends of the anklet after you have put the anklet on?

  • @honeyme1978 Thanks! In place of the hemp, you could use macrame cord (just google it), nylon cording, or even crochet thread. If you look at the stringing material section on Fire Mountain Gems (firemountaingems . com) you can find all sorts of cording that would work great with this project! As for your second question, you usually just leave the ends hang - that's why I braid mine so it doesn't look so messy. You could cut the ends shorter if you want as well!

  • This is so pretty, I'm going to try it :)

    thanks heaps!

  • that looks so nice! thanks =]

  • Nice but instead of cutting 6 strands of string you should of just dubble it and that way you can take it on and off and you would only have to cut 3 strands

  • Yes, thank you for pointing that out. I wanted to do it this way for this style, though. I just felt like it that day! :D

  • sweet, good job, i am going to make this for my best friend, thank you plenty

  • That sounds great! And your welcome!

  • Is hemp twine itchy or uncomfortable to wear? I always get distracted by jewelry, so I tend to only wear embroidery floss bracelets because you can barely tell that they're there! ^ ___ ^

    I love this anyway! <3 :]

  • Also, my beads have pretty small holes and I can't get the string inside it too well. Have any tips? :D Thanks! c:

  • they make beads with different sizes. like some holes r bigger than others. try finding some beads with bigger holes.

  • after you shower or soak the hemp a couple of times its all good

  • That's a great tip. Thanks for sharing!

  • no actually hemp isnt itchy or anything. i thought i would be 2.. but nope! :)

  • I have gotten low quality hemp a couple of times and it was scratchy, so you must have been smart and gotten the good stuff! Lol!

  • All real hemp is rough at rirst.

  • All reall hemp will be itchy at first, but after a few showers, it will begen to soften up.

  • i have always been partial to the more natural materials for my jewelry. thanks for this awesome tutorial!

  • I really like using different materials for jewelry and hemp is one of my favorites. :)

  • haha. cool. i don't know where to get the hemp twine but i do like the technique. thanks.
