Well what kind of example would it set to have fireman MURDER this guy. My mother grew up in Chicago, and says she remembers when this made the news. Apparently, he has scaled more than one tall buliding. He was doing this all over the country, and then one day, she just heard nothing more of him. I suppose it is harder to get away with this type of stunt nowadays.

I think this guy makes some valid points about both building security and highrise rescue and fire fighting operations. The fact that this technology has barely evolved in the last 100 years is rediculous. We need to have working groups of engineers, architects, and people like this guy, to discuss, design, and implement safety innovations in building/construction technology. We are now almost 10 years post 9/11, and it's time to wake up and smell the coffee.
