You need to check the in school policies when you say "my rights have been violated". Very often, you'll find things that blatantly say what is/is not allowed on school grounds. Quoting your rights is moot if there is a written policy on matters such as recording on school grounds. If you have VIABLE complaints, you need to address those without disruption to the class. These types of actions limit the rest of the class from their right to learn.

Wrong on one thing, he has broad leeway beyond the regular bounds of the fourth amendment to search your stuff in school, especially locker. They are considered in loco parentis while you are in school. That doesn't mean they can do whatever they want, but if they have suspicion, they can search your stuff.

They CAN search your locker because it is their property, but they can't search the bag or coat that is inside the locker. They CAN search the desk, but they CAN NOT search inside of the pencil case that is in the desk.

You can't record them unless they are in a public place. That is, if the law matches that with photographers. I do believe though, that while students are in school, the student's parents must give permission first if they take pictures or video of them.

The stupid schools make you sign away your rights before you attend with things they usually call codes of conduct compliance agreements or subordination forms so yeah...its a bad deal you should just get out of public education if you can. Wrong on one thing, he has broad leeway beyond the regular bounds of the fourth amendment to search your stuff in school, especially locker. They are considered in loco parentis while you are in school. That doesn't mean they can do whatever they want, but if they have suspicion, they can search your stuff.

but also you not aloud to bring cameras and phones into school because of theift and things breaking because when the phone/camera breaks or gets lost the owner complains about it being angry and upset becuase electronics usally cost alot so most schools dont let them in because they cant insure broken items or theift and so they dont want the blame like in our school if your caught with a phone they confiscate it from you for a week

He does have rights. and it's not just his you need to worry about. School is where it starts. My son is in the 4th grade and I taught him the bill of rights not his teacher. Do you really think that's a coincidence? they are not taught in school any more and if by chance they are it is skimmed over in a day as appose to when I was young when that was a whole months worth of lessons. Jiggy, I'm pointing out that it's all part of the same problem. Any time a person can be SUBJUGATED on the basis of age, race, sex, or any other discriminatory characteristic, it devalues them as a person and makes further abuse more likely.

my friend had his phone in the classroom and started to record people without knowing. SOME GIRL told on him and the teacher said its illigal to record in people without their permision. My friend said that he didnt know so I instanly said i believe him. Everybody looked at me and started to argue. So I told my teacher and the students.
