Ah Suse, That is correct.. Asus has been building Hardware for years not only to sell it under Asus Brand, but also build hardware for major comp companies, HP, Dell, etc etc. Great company and great hardware. I own both a Acer one and a Asus EEEpc, and I must say, the Build Q of the EEEPC is A+. My Acer Build Q feels Cheap, sorry Acer, still love both machines.

The 901 has a width of 8.86 inches the 1000 has a width of 10.47 inches so just get out ruler and measure the width and you'll have your answer ^~ besides it would normally say it on the bottom of the laptop.

The right Shift key is awkwardly placed after the up arrow key, making it pretty much useless for touch-typists. Adding insult to injury, there is wasted, blank space between the up arrow button and the question mark key, where the Shift key should have been.

The Linux version of the 901 has 20GB, and you can replace the SSD with larger ones - 64GB is under $200. You can also add a lot of memory with SD cards.  Hard disks in small portable devices which get banged around a lot are quite unreliable, solid state is a big advantage if you can live with the capacity. The trend is in that direction, there is only one HD iPod remaining, for example.

The joke is in direct response to one of the text comments I received from the last tech tips.

In that one I commented that the EEE 901 would be okay for someone with child-like hands, and a viewer pointed out that a lady's hands/fingers would also be smaller/thinner than my own.

It's nothing to do with sexism or anything of the sort. Men and women are physically different and do not have the same needs from a product like this. It's that simple.

Worth considering: SD cards now offer 32GB - just Google: SDHC+32GB. It enables you to store a tremendous amount of data and just pop it in the built-in slot on either the 901 or 1000.
