Garmaniser... coz many olympics participants are closeted, and the fact that Mitcham is strong enough to be openly gay in such an enviroment, and to the entire world is very very regardful... And the media attention it get's might push others to come out like him... and that's what the world needs, at least for gay people honesty and acceptance...

Matthew Mitcham (born 2 March 1988 in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia) is an Australian diver. He is the 2008 Olympic Champion on the 10m platform. He is the first Australian male to win an Olympic gold medal in diving since Dick Eve at the 1924 Summer Olympics. Mitcham is openly gay. Thats what it says in wikipedia, and I'M NOT JUDGING HIM!

um, yeah he is. he's one of the few openly gay athletes in the olympics. even if it couldn't be resolved by a quick google search, he actually got out of the pool, did this sweet little wave, and mouthed 'hi, mam'. come on.
