I enjoyed listening to this. I cannot see any real evidence for the Trinity, but rather for the subordinance of Jesus. And the Holy Spirit seems to have no personality whatsoever, but is more of an energizing force for action.

You know, to me it seems that you have not examined yet the facts of who translated & modified YOUR NWT Bible to fit somehow the Watchtower doctrines. Please make sure you really know the occult background of the ones your Bible is based on! (J. Greber, Jesuits etc) God bless

@thetruthrover I'm rather surprised you should think that the Holy Spirit seems to have no personality. I suppose it depends what you mean by personality, but the Bible does say that the HS forsees future events and warns of them (awareness), that the Holy Spirit teaches (intelligence) and can be made sad (emotions) An energising force, maybe, but with intelligence, awareness and emotions, which I think do indicate personality or person-hood.

Excellent interview. He mentioned the book by Francis Chan, but I think the title accidentally got left out. It's called "Errasing Hell". It is an excellent book. I think Matthew should do a video on it. I wanted to, but I'm not that good at making effective videos. One thing in the book that really grabbed my attention, was the part about Gehenna being a garbage dump. That there was no evidence for this, and that it wasn't even mentioned in anyone's writings until the year 1200 AD.

@21crosscheck21 Yeah. when I heard that (I listened to the audio version) I got a feeling similar to the one I got when I first learned that the 607 BCE date wasn't written solidly in the pages of history as the Society teaches. I will also say that to be fair, I listened to Bells book "Love wins" to get a feel for both sides. Bell is differently "out in left field" in my opinion. I was disturbed by his favorable mention of music icon Emiem, (or M&M) however you spell it. (GRIN)

When I first came across Mathews channel and yours, I was really upset and I commented accordingly, defending Jehovah and "God´s organization". And little by little God opened my eyes and showed me all the evidences against this organization. And then I fell down, and I prayed to Jesus and I realized that I was a lost sinner and I cried and asked him to come into my life. What happened to me was exactly what Mathew speaks about - something that was not there before comes with such a power (...)

@earnestlyseeking oh, yes, you say it. unforgettable!!! :D - and it shows how quickly He responds when we really really pray to him and ask him to come. so, be patient with JWes - many of them really want to serve God but lost their ways. The Lord sometimes changes that in a second. Jehovah´s Witnesses - check out your religion and their history and the dark men behind it that look like sheep but inwardly... In 2000 only 1 of their 3 corp. had an income of 1.25 billion $+70 finest NY-buildings!

This is very uplifting. Thanks to both of you, and Brock on the other shows. It's true, we all struggle through certain trials in this discouraging world, but Christ is that Eternal life and light that we conform to in the church and brotherhood by The Holy Spirit to know our heavenly Father.

Yes, Brothers, unity. In the spirit of love, not in dispute over trivial matters not related to salvation in Jesus Christ. Praise God. God is not the author of confusion. The enemy is the author of division. How the Body is uniting and changing for God's glory. All denominational pursuit is idolatry.

@Danmera I don't know if the same thing happened elsewhere, but in the area I live in, a lot of people took it and ran with it. At least 2 prominent elders in the Circuit put their daughters in college and moved to the town where the university was. I don't think they are elders now.

Guys, I am a former Jehovah's Witness and never was I afraid to read the Bible. As a matter of fact, I currently pursue means to unify the entire association of the Christian brotherhood, a thing that would be unheard of had I never consulted God's Word. Neither would it have ever been possible to overturn such ingrained strongholds if I'd never read the Bible.
