  • I love the book:)!!

  • Does anyone know if the book has a happy ending? :)

  • "the full moon was hidden by clouds but had turned them silver so that the sky was quite light. Belmotte Tower, high on its mound, seemed even taller than usual. Once I really looked at the sky, I wanted to go on looking; it seemed to draw me towards it and make me listen hard, though there was nothing to listen to, not so much as a twig was stirring."

  • @MVolta08 just reading this excerpt was enough to make me tingle with nostalgia.... i still have the copy that i read and im pretty sure its the only one within a thousand miles.... they really should reprint this again..... it really is my most precious book and ill treasue it forever ...

    thanks a million for posting....

  • Must watch this! I loved the book....is the film as good?

  • JUST WATCHED THIS MOVIE. WHY THE HELL DID CASSSANDRA PICK SIMON OVER STEPHEN? O_O

  • Can someone please tell me what's the name of the actor at 0:53?

  • read the book!!!

  • oh my goodness! this trailer totally ruins the film!!

    it gives away soooo much!

please don't watch this trailer if you haven't seen the film.

  • ppl with the name Rose seem to always have red hair in movies...haha, just saying..

  • marc blucas is soooo hot :D

  • lol film looks intresting

    iv read half the book

    its really good :D

  • I love Roses style its so magical

  • I know I'll get thumbs down for this, but I actually didn't like Cassandra in the book. I sympathised with her occasionally, but her whining and naivety really annoyed me. I actually thought she was 13 at the beginning of the book, and only when she started pining after simon did I realise that she was legally an adult!

The film looks decent though. I love Romala as an actress =)

  • looks interesting!

  • The book was brilliant, but I'm still debating whether or not I want to see the film. I'm afraid it'll be disappointing, but I'm still curious.

  • whoa, it's been like 5 years since i read that book! i just remember it being really good. i think i'll read it again before i watch the movie. :)

  • This finm is so rubbish compared to the book. It just takes away all the charm of the book and captures nothing! sorry if u dissagree, i am not judging the acting, just the way it is put together, it has spoilt all the pictures in my mind of the characters and the castle.

  • i found this book long lost at the back of my mum's book shlef,

    ive just read it.

im only 14, people keep saying they read it in English,

i do hope i will too, im sick of the books we read like stone cold.

Blech, teenage books are so unimaginative these days, Ive read all the sixth form books in the school libary, but im not supposed too...

darn. I much prefer adult books they can be have so much more detail, c'ept of course harry potter and twilight they rule

    sorry tht was a rant.

  • i had to read this book for school

    i was really that impressed

  • i just finished reading the novel..and i was totally amazed..i love dodie smith!!!

  • cool

i gotta read it for my english work!

    so ..reading your comment helps.

    lol

  • An amazing book-I totally agree.

  • this is like my fave book!

    thanks for uploading!

    xxx

  • I absolutely adore this book and the movie is a really good adaptation of it. Most of the scenes are right off the page. But the end of the movie can seem really muddledand confusing if you haven't read the book. I watched this with my best friend the first and she hand't read the book and needed me to explain the ending to her.

  • Wow, two of my favorite actresses! DID NOT know that they were in a movie together.

Rose Byrne looks better in this, but Romola Garai is awesome!

  • I'm just after watching 'I capture the Castle' and I'm sad to say it left me feeling disappointed. don't get me wrong the story is nice...I just felt it could ahve been done so much better. There was an astonishing lack of chemistry between the characters that left you feeling cold and the ending was just a let-down. Anyone else experience this?

  • I feel as though the two male characters who were so taken by Rose actually weren't very charismatic. I've read the book before seeing the movie so naturally I had much higher expectations.

  • I never read the book but I would like to. The movie kind of showed how the book could be so much better. I love coming of age stories

  • I Capture The Castle is such a good book! I really want to see the movie now, it looks like it does it justice.

  • I really enjoyed this film, i would recommend it to everyone. I would really like to read the book though! :)

  • dood do u noe how amazingly gorgeous henry cavil is?!?! hes perfect 4 edward

  • what about edward??

  • i was so surprised this movie has that girl from 'damages'

  • ive read the book

  • Rose Byrne is very beautiful in this movie. I have curly hair, it makes me want to go out and dye it red

  • DO IT! =]]]

  • Yes, do it. Red hair is lovely.

  • i capture the castle is such a lovely novel. i looked up dodie smith's other books but i think they are very minor (apart from 101 dalmations) and i can't find any of them in any bookshops. anyone have an idea of how i can get her other books?

  • GAAAAH!!! I love Stephen...Henry Cavill is fabulous

  • He is!!! I was angry at Rose for not picking stephen. He's so sweet and kind. He's a person who would do anything for her *sobs* I would definitely go for Stephen if I were her.

  • i think youre thinking of Cassandra...

  • Comment removed

  • @XxLalitaLluchxX .....you mean Simon?

  • @XxLalitaLluchxX You were angry at ROSE for not picking Stephen? Don't you mean Cassandra? x

  • I capture the Castle is my favorite book and I hope the movie does it justice. It looks like it does :)

  • this movie was absolutely stunning can't wait to see Garai in Atonement with James McAvoy!

  • It's a lovely film, wonderfully acted (especially Garai, Byrne and Nigh) and wonderfully put together :)

  • The book was an interesting read, I didn't know a film adaptation was in the works though.

  • i love the movie...i love the book even more!!!

  • I bought this book because My first name is Cassandra and my middle name is Rose and I've loved it ever since.

  • i loved both the book and the film. Thanks for putting this up.

  • the book wasn't as good as i thought it would be.the ending was not satisfying...

  • yes one of the best books i've ever read. i only wish i could see the film now.

  • the book is great, I hope they did it justice!

  • Hey, this looks like a pretty good movie.
