"the full moon was hidden by clouds but had turned them silver so that the sky was quite light. Belmotte Tower, high on its mound, seemed even taller than usual. Once I really looked at the sky, I wanted to go on looking; it seemed to draw me towards it and make me listen hard, though there was nothing to listen to, not so much as a twig was stirring."
@MVolta08 just reading this excerpt was enough to make me tingle with nostalgia.... i still have the copy that i read and im pretty sure its the only one within a thousand miles.... they really should reprint this again..... it really is my most precious book and ill treasue it forever ...
I know I'll get thumbs down for this, but I actually didn't like Cassandra in the book. I sympathised with her occasionally, but her whining and naivety really annoyed me. I actually thought she was 13 at the beginning of the book, and only when she started pining after simon did I realise that she was legally an adult!
The film looks decent though. I love Romala as an actress =)
This finm is so rubbish compared to the book. It just takes away all the charm of the book and captures nothing! sorry if u dissagree, i am not judging the acting, just the way it is put together, it has spoilt all the pictures in my mind of the characters and the castle.
I absolutely adore this book and the movie is a really good adaptation of it. Most of the scenes are right off the page. But the end of the movie can seem really muddledand confusing if you haven't read the book. I watched this with my best friend the first and she hand't read the book and needed me to explain the ending to her.
I'm just after watching 'I capture the Castle' and I'm sad to say it left me feeling disappointed. don't get me wrong the story is nice...I just felt it could ahve been done so much better. There was an astonishing lack of chemistry between the characters that left you feeling cold and the ending was just a let-down. Anyone else experience this?
I feel as though the two male characters who were so taken by Rose actually weren't very charismatic. I've read the book before seeing the movie so naturally I had much higher expectations.

i so do NOT want henry cavil to play edward.hes cool and all,but hes just not edward. someone with gold eyes, red brown hair and is awesome muscular. hardcore muscular is emmett(hes the most muscular) and like, edward and jasper are awesome muscular.
i capture the castle is such a lovely novel. i looked up dodie smith's other books but i think they are very minor (apart from 101 dalmations) and i can't find any of them in any bookshops. anyone have an idea of how i can get her other books?
He is!!! I was angry at Rose for not picking stephen. He's so sweet and kind. He's a person who would do anything for her *sobs* I would definitely go for Stephen if I were her.
I love the book:)!!

The book was brilliant, but I'm still debating whether or not I want to see the film. I'm afraid it'll be disappointing, but I'm still curious.

i found this book long lost at the back of my mum's book shlef,
ive just read it.
im only 14, people keep saying they read it in English,
i do hope i will too, im sick of the books we read like stone cold.
Blech, teenage books are so unimaginative these days, Ive read all the sixth form books in the school libary, but im not supposed too...
darn. I much prefer adult books they can be have so much more detail, c'ept of course harry potter and twilight they rule
sorry tht was a rant.

Wow, two of my favorite actresses! DID NOT know that they were in a movie together.
Rose Byrne looks better in this, but Romola Garai is awesome!
