Christina's performance was in what, 2007? 2008? The VMA committee could have changed by then, but when Christina performed, lip synching had to be done.
At the VMA, performers HAVE to lip synch. They're not allowed to use their actual singing voice. Christina has expressed her disappointment of this in previous interviews.
Christina has a really beautiful voice and CAN sing live, and I understand by the way the song was made how she couldn't at points but she could have still used it a bit. I can't wait for Burlesque to come out and for her new album though!

didn't she give birth to her son that year? i read that singers have hard time with singing after giving birth. something to do with hormones and the body and what not. michelle branch had to lip sync after her child was born for the santana "i'm feeling you" song. i dunno i may be wrong. i just know it has an affect on the singing ability for a short moment

Christina's performance was in what, 2007? 2008? The VMA committee could have changed by then, but when Christina performed, lip synching had to be done.

At the VMA, performers HAVE to lip synch. They're not allowed to use their actual singing voice. Christina has expressed her disappointment of this in previous interviews.

Christina has a really beautiful voice and CAN sing live, and I understand by the way the song was made how she couldn't at points but she could have still used it a bit. I can't wait for Burlesque to come out and for her new album though!

Lady GaGa was original, actually.... She has way more better assets unlike Christina... sings live, designs her clothes and the stage she'll perform, composes her own music and lyrics, constantly evolves her style, so you don't get stuck with the same old GaGa for long... so in short, she's always surprising and always has something new to serve her fans....
