@blueyoyi Thanks so much, blueyoyi and family! How I wish I were a piano whiz so I could play and record a different piece every week. I'm a late bloomer with the piano and mostly self-taught so learning a piece does not come easy for me. But as Dr Ingrid Santamaria would advice me later, I need not study a huge repertoire. I just have to learn a few and play them from the heart. You've made my day, week even!
Hope you don't stop giving life to such kind of piece....life's inspiration is what we need! Life just evolves, summer....AUTUMN.....winter & spring and so on...Thanks Jeff.
@composerdoh Thanks for watching! Yes, it's a pity that only a handful of her works, including Autumn, are still part of the active concert repertoire. But through YouTube, I think more and more pianists are rediscovering her neglected compositions. Thanks again!
@OldRabit Thank you so much for watching! I'm very happy that you like the video. I memorized this piece years ago but it is only recently I dared play it in public when I felt I was musically grown up enough to play it for others. Your compliment is telling me that it worked! Thanks again! :-)
@marichu3059 Thanks, Ms Marichu! Yes, it is strange that I've played many times in Manila but not so much in Pagadian. Let's see if we can rectify it. ;-)
It's like looking out of the window in an autumn afternoon, with a brief stormy interlude, then settling back again to the beauty of fall. Thanks, man, for breathing life into this seldom performed piece! Where are you playing next?
@al940035 Thank you, sir/ma'am! Yes, playing this piece almost feels like painting outdoors during autumn. I have no idea when and where I'll be invited to play next but I'll keep you posted.
@atasantiago Thanks, ANNA! These days, I only study pieces with which I can relate deeply. No more randomly assigned pieces for me. ;-) I'm looking forward to playing with you soon!
@h0m3rd Thanks for watching, HOMS! Piano teaching is a whole lot of skill and talent in itself, so I have high respects for the best piano teachers in the business. I think there are enough of them if one really wants to study with the best. Having said that, I believe musicians grow when they share what they know, so I'm willing to help a fellow piano student or anybody who's sincerely interested in piano music.
@BarkongKaraan Thanks, CARLO! You don't have to pirate my vids just yet! I'll give you a DVD copy when I have more . That will motivate me to learn more pieces of this sort. :)
@dandirom Thanks so much, DANDI! You know, you and Mira inspire me to continue learning the piano. I look up to the two of you as my musical big brother and sister. Thanks again!
@ednalynbar Thanks, EDS! Playing live is scary and exhilarating at the same time but it's always a great opportunity. I hope to see you in my next gig, wherever that may be ;-)
@qsoyales ATTY! Daghang salamat! Since we don't have autumn in the Philippines, this piece of music, coupled with the imagery, hopefully gives the viewer a feel for that season. Yes, I will definitely invite you in my future performances, as rare as they can be!
JEF! What an absolutely magnificent integration of beautiful music played with such heart and soul, colored with nostalgic autumnal paintings and surrounded by such warm evidence of heartfelt friendships in an elegant GSIS museum setting with a full grand. What more can one ask except MORE, MORE, MORE! Kudos, Orchids, Accolades, Jef, and may there be MORE to come!!!!!!!
@rpcjt Muchisimas gracias, Dr INGRID! Hands down, your compliment is the best affirmation an aspiring pianist can ever wish for! Of course, I'm learning from the best, in whatever shape and form that lesson may be. ;-) I thank God every day for giving you to me as my musical inspiration! God bless!
@kingjepoy Your music will always be a treasure and pleasure for so many valued friends and family, Jef, and for whatever it's worth, you will always have whatever i can artistically and musically share. No faltaba mas! :)
You were one with your music Jeff and I don't want to overdo the compliments because it wil appear cheap. I just like it the way it is...passionate and deep.
@KingOdysseus Maestro ULI! If I can make my fingers sing the way you sing, I'd be playing internationally now! LOL! But I'm super happy that you like my playing! That's a real compliment from a world-class tenor such as yourself!
Hi Jeff, I didn't know you could play like this :) Congratulations, that was a great performance! I hope you get more opportunities to play for more people. And you look great! :)
@jaqgabriel JAQ! Thanks for watching! Yes, a lot of people don't know this side of me and actually, back at Unisys, I wasn't even musical. This is a recent development. Who knows what the future will bring! And thanks for complimenting my appearance! The museum lighting was fantastic!
There is a most charming Chaminade Flute piece and I can hear her signature all over your piano piece. And it was on your Birthday wasnt it.....Charminng. Excellent playing....and great matching of paintings and the music. I didnt know you were this good. What was chaminade quoting in 3:24? Ive heard that melody in church or something.......congrats
@fluterampal SIR RAY! Being surrounded with superior talents such as Tita Ingrid, Prof Rey, Jonathan, and yourself, I absorb your musicalities like a sponge! As you've probably noticed, I'm rather shy around the professional musicians as I'm not a born performer. But I'm hoping to grow into one ;) I'm not sure about that tune in 3:24 but it recurs everywhere in the piece. As for the Chaminade flute piece, I have her Concertino for flute and piano. Shall I learn the piano part for you? :-)
Jeff, what a refined performance - your playing was so intense, but your composure was so calm. I really felt you and your piece were one... I look forward to watching more of your playing....bravissimo!!!
@wingchua Bow, bow, bow! Thanks so much, Wing! It's not so difficult to connect with this piece as it is just a matter of revealing its inner charm and beauty!
@barniv This is a huge compliment, coming from you, Maestro Rami! I've always wanted to attend your piano camp but never got the chance to do so. However, those exchange of ideas in your egroup has really helped me grow musically!
@yapoojp It's a very lovely piece! I first heard it at a student's recital and I've been bewitched by it ever since. I'm quite inspired by your interpretation as well!
The way you play....you should post more videos!!!! share....share... and share to inspire...inspire and inspire...
