A little late, but never. When you get the same place 4 times, you get a 1up. So if you were playing and you got 1st on the first track, and 2nd on the second track it's a bummer because then you'd get the 1up on the 5th track.

The elemental grid is annoying to use/learn, but what you have to do if you see a monster you want is switch to Marta, and tell the rest of your party to not defend.

Get Marta to safety and cast First Aid till the middle element of the grid changes, and then 4 of the side markers change all to water. Then make sure none of your party uses elemental attacks, and finish the enemy off. After that you should be able to form a bond!

And I agree that the first is better then the 2nd but not by much.

The one thing I dont like about newer RPG/Adventure games is the fact that they're absolutely huge. A world like the size of LoZ:OoT is perfect size for me. When it gets to the size of Oblivion it just gets boring.

You can go backwards if you use a star right after you bounce off something. My friend and I used to do this on battle mode a lot. It's hilarious.

Tales of Symphonia's monster system is actually a lot better than what you may think. Keep the wolf, it's a great monster to have. I also recommend you pick up a ghost, it's another great monster. Ditch the Imp if you haven't already. It has the potential to have the highest stats in the game, but levels slowly and doesn't learn anything of use. Experiment, and you'll find a style you like. Stick with that and you're good.

I played zero mission on GBA. Cool game. It was one of my favorites before my dog knocked the system off a table, which caused some problem with the graphics, causing the game to run at 1/2 speed after a few minutes. I can still load my end-game file and re-beat the game at slug speed.

It is WAAAAAAY to easy. A LOT shorter. There were only 2 new PLAYABLE characters. The old characters BARELY changed. It was just a big disappointment. It is good as an individual Tales game.

actaully, the first game was easy as well, and the old characters were PLAYABLE too, you can actauly move around the battle feild and the battle run at a much faster pase and the Monster collection adds some depth to the gameplay, making it much deeper than the first game, and i didnt mind the length of the game ethier.

I'd love to see Super Metroid if you decide to do it. It's in my top 3 favorite games of all time. It's hard to find a playthrough that's not a speed run.
