I think it sounds a bit forced. I mean it just doesn't sound natural. The agression sounds a bit staged. I'm still digging the new feel but Franks vocals brought a lot to the table in terms of feel. I saw Gallows with the new line-up recently (with Four Year Strong) and it was quite an intense show with Wade. I'm looking forward to seeing what they put out in the future though.
@Mercerart1 So, you're telling me that the other guys should have completely started over just because Frank left? C'mon now. You don't have to like it, but don't be a fool. I'm pretty sure that the people who wrote all of the band's music in the first place know what Gallows is supposed to sound like.
@PeachSurebet They wouldn't of had to start over completely, because the band would have been promoted as being ex-gallows & ex-alexisonfire.
it's just the thing about Gallows was that they were British hardcore with British vocals & alot of the lyrics were about growing up here. An american singer doing those songs just isn't gonna work for me. And even with the new songs i'm always gonna compare it to Frank's vocal which I love. And i just don't like this guys voice, it's got no character.
@Mercerart1 Yes, but the Gallows name is already established and known. Like I said, you don't have to like the new music, but Wade is obviously working for the rest of Gallows. I think we should all respect that, at least.
@PeachSurebet and @mercerart1 see the new lineup, you'll be a believer. Yes, it's a different studio sound to be sure, but the live shows have jsut as much intensity as they did with Frank. Also, he wasn't the only person in the band, the sound is still the same, the riffs are still killer, the drums are still awesome, and the fans are exactly the same. We're lucky that we get more music that's quality instead of listening to two albums and getting nostalgic about punk rock.
@PeachSurebet Yeah, it is already establised, but with Franks vocal and most of the people of spoken to feel exactly the same as I do about this & aren't liking the new E.P. I'm just saying if they'd started a new band they would have taken a small step back, but they would have broken the acossiation with Frank and people wouldn't have rejected it through comparison.
@Mercerart1 I understand what you're saying, but I don't agree at all. One pissy band member leaving would never make me break up my band, unless I absolutely couldn't move on without him/her. Plenty of bands have lost their original frontmen, and carried on just fine. People are just going to have to get over it. Plus, there's always the first two albums to listen to if they're fanboys for Frank THAT bad.
@Mercerart1 It IS Gallows and this song kills. Frank wanted to soften their sound and become more mainstream (like he's trying to achieve with Pure Love) and Gallows wanted to continue making aggressive music. So, when Frank releases his "pop" music next year (which I'm sure will be cool), maybe people will stop bitching about him leaving.
this is awesome. end of story.

the only one that sounds like a gallows song that frank would consider okay.
MacheteCity 2 months ago
@MacheteCity I suppose you know what Frank considers "okay"? He has attended a Gallows show with the new line up and he enjoyed it...

They should have renamed the band.
Then I might have accepted this.
But it's not gallows.
