@Powerhausz never played Slide, and only a little Quake Rally, but AirQuake was amazing. Really like AirQuake 2 as well, though it seems to have disappeared from the Internet almost entirely, as all the download links I can find are broken.

I went for how much I enjoyed the mod vs anything. There was some stuff that would more innovative, etc. but I enjoyed these more.

Plus, as far as I can tell Warp Spasm came out AFTER the video was released (and it's a map).

Anyway, how do you take video of your screen like that? I always end up with a business-card sized video when I try.

Well, just by fate I happened to have a Sony DV recording deck handy that weekend I got the footage. So I hooked up my component video out to the deck & recorded it straight to the deck.

But I can't do that now so I use AVI Screen Classic to record the games from a window. SD TV resolution is 640x480 (in general) & that's what I use.

whats the mod with double pistols i know this has been out a while what about a call of duty 2 or 4 or possible WAW or MW2 quake remake Modern Quake Warfare or something please we need soothing like this Urban terror is all right but devs please make something does every creation cost money.

The double pistols is the AvP mod.

There's already a WW2 MP mod for Quake 2 (D:Day Normandy) but it's older graphics. There's nothing stopping someone from making a Q2 based game that looks @ acts like the CoD franchise: CoD & MoH are based around Q3A.

Depending on where you got it from, it should be put in to "quake2/predator". If the zip file already contains the folder "predator" just put it in "quake2". If it doesn't (just contains the data files) unzip it to "quake2/predator".

Substitute your "quake2" for your Q2 folder.

@TheHappyFriar thanks I did find the predator file and i got it started up but how do i start the actual mod? I tried starting a new game bu I get the regular story mod. Is it a multiplayer mod. sorry for beng such a noob about this I've only just recently started playing quake and quake II

It is a MP mod. It will work in SP but there will be no predators or aliens. You can run a server from the multiplayer menu & have other people join that way. The other way is a dedicated server & that gets more complex in running.

I've always referred to the series as "Quake" but technically, you're right. :D

In the "of all time" defense, I'd say those still are the best. I haven't seen anything since then that's better then those imho (some just as good though!)

Also, there were many amazing mods. The mods for modern games are barely mods compared to a lot of these old ones. People consider any modification (such as new textures or models) a "MOD".

you weren't the only one who disagreed with my list. :) There's so many excellent quake mods out there it was hard to do a top 10. I wanted to do a top 40 (or so) & then highlight the top 10, but that was to much!
