Jimmy hang time is a Jimmy Moron! ADKOT Rocks! #1 album in the USA. If you can't appreciate Eddie's new guitar licks than go get your Chickenfoot and listen to that! No problem. Don't knock it unless you can do better. I seriously doubt that you can. Eddie Van Halen has got to be current #1 guitar player ever....f rolling stone magazine! Thanks to Sammy for keeping David Lee Roth's spot warm for him cuz he's back!!!!! "Tattto-Tattoo!"
I skip Tattoo and have listened to the new CD about 20 times with "She's The Woman" as the first song, which is a much better opener. Wolfie really is filling Mike's shoes both of bass and even solo backup vocals amazingly. Complain all you want but this is an amazing new Van Halen album and other than Tattoo has almost no keyboards. Quit complaining for god's sake! If you prefer Mike and Sammy go listen to & see Chickenfoot. If you like VH 2012 buy the album and see them! Best of Both Worlds!
@kennedy78757 I agree Tattoo shouldn't have been the single they released, if they hadn't have released Tattoo first, people would have liked it better to be honest.

Upgrayedd, what do you want? Why are you here? Why are you such a buzzkill? There's nothing wrong with enjoying a band that we love playing music we love. I'd hate to meet you, you bore.
The new album blows as in it blows me away! The last VH album I bought was OU812 (on vinyl!) and it's great to hear Dave and Eddie doing what they do best!
New album is great, really great and you fucking ignorant cunts that say it blows have probably got something else they like which blows even harder. Get a fucking dog up ya
Actually "Tattoo" isn't new. It's a shitty demo from 1977 named "Down in Flames". It wasn't good enough to be used on any albums. Dave just wrote shitty lyrics and they released it for you simpletons that would applaud a turd if it had a VH sticker on the side.
The cover artwork from Van Halen's forthcoming album "A Different Kind of Truth" was ripped off from the Commodores' 1975 album "Movin' On".
@jimmyhangtime.............go suck sammy hagars dick you idiot...no real vh fans liked hagar...he needs to apologize for ruining van halen....go listen to chickenfag or whatever the fuck they call themselves
They should have gotten Sammy back... This record blows! Sammy said he would have done a reunion tour with Van Halen but first Eddy needed to apologize.. Eddy, the stubborn fuck that he is didn't and settled for this crap!! Bad move! Chickenfoot rocks!!
@jimmyhangtime1 Hey Jimme, It's Eddie you tard.Chickenass has music already? Ithought they were playing a 6 club tour, and it was mostly dudes, now that is crap ok Jimmmeee?
who gives a shit if they pass it off as a "new song"? T
hey wrote it, idiot. amazing..... that just shows how awesome van halen is. If they can polish it, release it 36 years later, and it still sounds as good as this demo, then I guess it did stand the test of time!
I don't care if this song is over 40 years old or not... Don't care one bit... Im just happy to hear that classic VH sound after all these years... I respect Sammy and still liked the group with him.. But nothing they ever did with Sammy was as good as VH, V2, Women and Children 1st, Fair Warning.. etc... If this new album sounds like those I mentioned than HELL YEAH!!!
Love it...not a big fan of tatoo...but if the rest of the album is gonna be like this its gonna rock.....DLR is back baby.....hellz yea....june 3rd in Oakland, i will be there
Who cares how old the song actually is, it's getting play NOW, that's what counts. It's a GREAT look into where they were, what evolved out of the early stuff (Mean Streets, Somebody Get Me a Doctor, etc.). Besides, it's better than most of the shit coming out of ANY source these days.
I believe "tattoo" releases as a single tomorrow - am I right? Now if you are & pretty much sure you a longtime VH Fan like Me... "she's a woman" has some Eddie riffs right off of "house of pain" - no complaints at all - love it all. The baddest band in the land will be here in Tulsa on May-Day.
Fab !!!!!!!! Who gives a cr-- if it's new. It new now !!!!!!!!!!! Love them love them love them. They sounded great on the videos from Cafe Wha? Wish I had been there... like a million others do. Can't wait for the Texas shows. !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Miss Michael Anthony too , but what you gonna do, I'll take it!

And Sammy was right in his interview where he said there isn't any new Roth Halen tunes, just old stuff they'll rerecord. LAMEFEST! At least Sammy is kicking ass with THE FOOT!
@Gary2112 : Yes, but this is NOT the version from the upcoming album! This is the version they made before the were signed to Warner Brothers. That's brother Mikey playing bass on this cut!!!
@Gary2112 The song was recorded on their demo tape back in the 70s. They're trying to pass it off as a new track, but its going on 40 years old. Also, if you listen to the solo, that's right outta "Mean Street".
@Gary2112 said "~THIS IS A NEW SONG ON VAN HALEN'S NEW ALBUM ~" Listen people, this IS a demo they made in '76. They remade it for the '12 album, and it's not the only demo they revisited. Not only can you find this out thru online research, but the fact that this video was added to YouTube 4 yrs before the release of the '12 album.
@RNRDOLL I don't "fish" for anything - I base my opinion on fact and people have responded. Fact - this band has sold millions of albums, Fact - Edward re-invented rock guitar, Fact - VH brothers are classically trained and came to the U.S. with nothing - they've earned my respect. They've had some hiccups over a 30 YEAR CAREER but they're entitled. I'm saying the music and culture of the get-rich-quick, flavour of the month club is OVER appreciated and it has EVERYthing to do with each other.
I always thought this, and I heard Ed say it once. They'll take a ZZ Top riff or -type riff and write a song off it. You can hear it in a lot of the early stuff.
Me. I knew it since Jan Van Halen let me stick it in his wife and my slimy seed made the guitar hero. I said, Jan, your child that is made of my seed will become 100 times more influential then Jimmy Hendrix.
Always one of my favorites from when I saw them in '76 before they got signed. Like a lot of these early demos, this is a bit overdone compared to the original live version, but it still kicks ass. And funky as hell.
this is the coolest fuckin song i have heard in my entire life (just turned 15). van halen are complete idoits for not putting this on one of their albums. listen up to 0:19 and tell me if anyone of those fucking drug dealing rappers can do that. listen to the musicianship!
Cool to hear someone that's 15 who appreciates some good music. Should have been there live to see them back in the late '70's Amazing to say the least!!! No one could bring the sound that they produced back in those days and Eddie was amazing!! Saw 'em live many times.. Nothing compares!!
I feel you, brother. I'm 19, been playing drums since the age of 6. I got inspired to play when my parents would play old records at home when I was a toddler. I was always drumming on stuff. No music will replace rock and roll, at least to me. Too many good memories from music like this. I think rap will one day be a thing of the past.
I agree but I think the early days the band and the sound was more balanced. Mike is a smokn bass player but when they mixed later albums they started turning down the bass sound and it was all about Ed.
Dave sang one octave too high on all these early demos........thank god he brought it down on the VH albums........his husky voice is part of the Van Halen signature sound.
@kchamz i listen to mac miller, eminem, acdc, van halen, ted nugent, kiss, gnr, quiet riot, ozzy, motley crue and many others, i also like listening to some country, so when you say that, its offensive. especially to a musician who's musical intrests are very widespread. i write rap, i play guitar, and listen to 70's music. i am 16 years old.
@DustinSeddon that's quite a musical resume for 16. Well done. "Musicians" who stand on stage scratching turntables and walk around with entourages (which is most commonly found in the rap culture) aren't. They've never logged the years of practice and performing required to be on par with VH. That was my point.
@Kickstart25 i totally agree, hagar didn't do much good for van halen, only song i like is runaround and humans being, otherwise, just a bunch of crap,
They had enough songs like this to release another whole album. I never understand that kind of stuff. Let's Get Rockin' is probably the best I've heard no to be released.
yeah, you can't blame it on them though, it was mainly the record companies fault. Ed said that 1984 was the first album done how he wanted it to be, and the other albums had been mainly controlled be the record companies. In the Van Halen Saga book, it talks about how Ed and ted templman(the manager) would always be in fights because of that kind of stuff.
Jimmy hang time is a Jimmy Moron! ADKOT Rocks! #1 album in the USA. If you can't appreciate Eddie's new guitar licks than go get your Chickenfoot and listen to that! No problem. "Musicians" who stand on stage scratching turntables and walk around with entourages (which is most commonly found in the rap culture) aren't. They've never logged the years of practice and performing required to be on par with VH. That was my point.

Even the songs Van Halen never released sound better than anything they did with Hagar!!
Mikey is groovin' here...this song kicks ass!

@Kickstart25 i totally agree, hagar didn't do much good for van halen, only song i like is runaround and humans being, otherwise, just a bunch of crap,

I like that Meanstreet interlude in there. I guess they saved that for later on. cause this deff sounds way before Fair Warning

So this is an unreleased song? Is it?
If it is, what a damn shame...I don't understand these guys....just like that other song "Let's Get Rockin'", too damn good to be unreleased!!!
pasatio 3 years ago
They had enough songs like this to release another whole album. I never understand that kind of stuff. Let's Get Rockin' is probably the best I've heard no to be released.

yeah, you can't blame it on them though, it was mainly the record companies fault. Ed said that 1984 was the first album done how he wanted it to be, and the other albums had been mainly controlled be the record companies. In the Van Halen Saga book, it talks about how Ed and ted templman(the manager) would always be in fights because of that kind of stuff.

I totally agree with you man! This song and Let's Get Rockin' are SMOKIN' songs!!

yah,but they used a lot this song's best parts in other songs

Aerosmith did the same thing: part of a tune of the their 74 album was used in the outro to "Dude Looks Like a Lady"
