I really like this song and most of the Jeff Lynne music esp. ELO - from Face The Music and forward. THIS song sounds like an outtake from "Time" the 1981 ELO masterpiece. A fantastic concept album imo. "Time" - great all the way through, even the bonus tracks/ B-sides are really good.
@Danceelectric , You're probably right about this being from Time. Time's a masterpiece? Not really. It's got a few good tracks like The Way Life's Meant To Be, Here Is The News, Twilight, but the rest of it is pretty forgetful. Out Of The Blue is a masterpiece. Time, no.
@sweetbrowneyedlady I wouldn't say this was depressing. It's kind of mood music, when you're sitting alone contemplating life in general. For me, it kind of makes me think about what I've accomplished in my life.
I'm glad I've come onto you tube...Gives me the chance to listen to tracks I might not have otherwise found.
But, as per a previous exchange in communication, I can't fault your taste in music!
Jeff Lynne has done so much stuff it's a job to keep up with it all.Sadly gems like this are probably not going to get the hearing they deserve as he seems reluctant to put stuff out very often.I'd love to collect all his stuff but it is so hard to have it all under one umbrella as it were. Jeff Lynne is simply a genius.
Yet another Lynne gem bestowed upon us...very much looking forward to his new CD this year. It would be nice if he would release a whole CD of songs that he never released, or finished. I know he's already given us quite a few (like this one) but I WANT MORE!!!!
I cant wait , I'm really excited( the new album). lol I agree, I bet there is tons of stuff we will never hear by The Master lol. An album of unreleased stuff would be great . Thanks for stopping by.
A good song ! Jeff Lynne has been quiet in the 2000´s, mostly. At least the fans don´t know much. But Jeff is releasing a new solo album this year. I hope that magic we have used to is back again !
It says it was recorded in 82 and finished in 2000 (previously un released), and it was on the Flashback three disc set. I'll probably get in trouble putting it up. Thanks Andre!
love it ....

Oh I love when Jeff Lynne goes into that sort of mysterious, Arabian feel in his music, as in the middle section of this fascinating song.

Even Jeff''s cast-offs are better than most bands best songs.

This is the best of "the previosly unreleased
tracks" in Flashback in my opinion.
Hope there comes more like this or Jeff Lynne
makes something brand new !

Oh, I never heard this song before. Was it a B-side or so? Or just not released so far? Sounds great, kinda experimental.
Guess it´s from the late 70´s, early 80´s? Anyways. Great.
André :-)
