I would like to find a single coil stratocaster that is really warm sound but fairly classically designed as in nothing like the no load tone control or s1 switching and with a rosewood fingerboard on the cheap, whats your advice?
To all those who need to know what kinda music can be played. I have the candy apple red with maple fretboard, I think you could play most anything you want with this guitar. If you want a clean sound it is absolutely great, and it has incredible distortion I love my guitar absolutely love it, and most important to me it plays as well as any fender I've ever played.
Great. Guitar, I have had my Black Top for just over a week. I love this thing so much, it looks awesome as hell. And it plays very well. I have not had mine set up at all, made a few adjustments myself and it's just right. The sound is somewhat different but yet it has that classic fender sound when you want it. And then it has that heavy sound I love from humbucker pickups.
@Lisogarcia I think the Blacktop would be great for the Muse sound the humbucker that come in it are very hot and aggressive. You can also switch the single coil as well which makes the Blacktop strat super versatile. $454.99 at nstuffmusic with coupon code FENDER35
Anybody knows hoy much does it cost the guitar? And if anyone knows about a place in Canada that sells it cheaper? Because i want this for next year and im gonna buy it by mi friends.Im from Perú thanks!
I'm really new to guitar. I have no idea how to play and I don't even own one. But I am asking for one for Christmas, along with lessons, and this one is particularly catching my eye. Is it a good one to start off with? If not, can you give me some ones that are?
I would advise you to go to a few stores here and there and feel some of the guitars.Get your hands on the neck and see if you like the fit and the feel. You will learn quicker and with a lot less hassle if you find an instrument that feels confortable in your hands .It will inspire you to work harder at mastering it.A low actioned guitar; where the strings lie pretty close to the frets is a good starting point for beginners..High string action is very off putting for beginners
@aivopark just because you don't like that kind of music doesn't mean you should diss it in front of youtube because after all FUCK HATER!!!! (btw metal rules)
Right now i only have the deluxe players in sunburst rosewood neck....i want this guitar...any chance you played this with the mapleneck? Im deciding on that still, either sticking with the rosewood like the deluxe or try the maple
@FrnkEzee Yes we have the maple necks in stock at $454.99 with coupon code. The sound a little tighter and brighter. If you need a coupon code let me know thanks, nstuffmusic.
@NstuffMusic Thanks..it'll be in about a month or so...so i'll be checking back with you. I still might stick with the rosewood..since i already use it with my deluxe :)
Hey mate, I'm not sure if I should get this guitar or a Fender MIM Strat. They are both quite similar except for the humbuckers and single coils on the MIM
@sourceofflames This guitar is Mexican and it is fantastic!!!! IT is great for both styles of music. Maybe something hotter in the bridge if you are going really heavy.
I will say a lot of the import guitars are getting much better in quality.

@sourceofflames What kind of music are you playing...the ESP is definitely the more aggressive guitar. The Fender is a little more "Classic Rock" if you will.
It is definitely not a heavy high output pick up, it gets a very nice tight, cleaner distortion or gritty tone. I think it would be great for cleaner sounds too.
Would this guitar play indie rock and more clear sounding songs, or is it mainly on the metal side? I'm into The Strokes/ Arctic monkeys... could I get that sound at a decent quality with this guitar?
@ImmaDwarfKicker They are available in maple fretboards as well. Rosewood is not better it's a personal preference thing. Maple wood is harder so it's a little brighter sounding and they have different cosmetic looks to them.
@robertomorales10994 Black and Candy Apple Red are the colors we have in right now. We would need your shipping info to give you an accurate shipping rate

@TheDruxlol Fender raised the price that's why the price increase. Which Blacktop are you interested in if we have it in stock and doesn't have to be special ordered I will honor that $419.99 price for you. Let me know.
@NstuffMusic Hey thanks for the quick response, I was interested in the Blacktop Stratocaster HH, rosewood neck, in black. I believe the product number from your site is: ae00-13041. If you are able to that would be awesome, thanks again.
@robertomorales10994 I do not have Black with Rosewood fingerboard in stock. I could order it for you but it would be the new price of $454.99. I have a Candy Apple Red with Rosewood fingerboard in stock that I could do $419.99. I also have a Black with maple fingerboard that I could honor the old price of $419.99. Let me know what you want to do.
@robertomorales10994 The shipping on this guitar would be about $360.00. The guitar I would do $419.99 for you. Total $779.99. We only except bank transfer for out of state purchases if your still interested let me know.
@fubarthekow Well that's a tough question. It is all personal preference. The Jaguar definitely has the vibe for sure! The jaguar also has a little fuller tone because of the body size difference. But they both are great rock guitars no matter what style of music you play.
God I want that guitar!!!!!!! I have an Epiphone Les Paul Special II and don't get me wrong I think its a very good beginner's guitar but I want to feel like the Kurdt x-D
Can you tell me please, what is the shape of the neck? Is it U, D, C, Modern C, V, soft V...? Radius is 9,5 right? Oddly it doesn't say on Fender's site.
hey i am thinking about getting one of these but i am not sure what to get, the blacktop strat or a gibson les paul junior. I like to play punk music like green day and blink 182, which one of them is the best for that sort of music?
@JakeThaSkater Just get a Boss DS-1 and you get instant Nirvana. Kurt used a lot of guitars: Mustangs, Jazzmasters, Mosrites, his signature Jagstang and Strats fitted with Dimarzio Super DIstortions. All very different guitars that he got his crunch out of.
@JakeThaSkater The blacktop series is good because of the Bridge/Neck pickups have that darker sound. It is all a preference of what kind of body/tailpiece/bridge/scale you want with this series mostly. (Except that the Jazzmaster is a H/S compared to the rest of the guitars in the series which are H/H.)
Best Strat value around! Mexican pricing, but w/Alnico pickups (4-wire!) instead of muddy ceramic's. Very versatile. To approximate S/S/S Strat tone (w/tapped coils), get the maple fingerboard, which sounds brighter. Position 4 is NOT both outer coils, it's neck pup's north coil alone -- see specs on Fender's Website. The only mod this guitar needs is a bridge single-coil tap, if you want to play surf/twang. Also, the headstock's finish is gloss, which you might want to sand down to satin.
@underplayedybca FYI - Specs on Fenders site are not correct. Pos 4 is both pickups. Try it out and tap both pickups at positions 2 and 4, they are both active.
Nice guitar, i'm rather keen on purchasing one. I wonder if it's the same as the one i've seen in stores here. It was a blacktop strat, but it had black (not chrome) pick-ups.
I've been looking at adding a HH strat to my collection. Do you know if this has a large swimming pool routing. I'm also curious if there are any other dual humbucker strats out there that I should look into? Fender 2010 FSR Standard Stratocaster HH perhaps? Looks nice and sounds pretty good.
Is this the one that cost around $450.00, or a higher priced one? And where is it made, mexico maybe? I think it sounds great if it is. I would love to have this guitar. I've heard Gibson is kind of living on their name, but obviously Fender is stll making great instruments.
I mainly want to play stuff like Zeppelin, Tom Petty, Maybe some Ryan Adams type stuff. A little blues. Not into metal. Which of the 4 black top series guitars would you recommend? I only play a little drop d tuning. Mainly standard tuning and occasional learning new tunings. Do you have a better looking guitar knob that will match these guitars? I don't care for the big amp looking knobs. so ugly.
@CureRadio Well, Jimmy Page used a Telecaster almost exclusively on the first Zeppelin album, as well as for some later stuff, including the Stairway to Heaven solo. Search YouTube for "communication breakdown danmarks" to see his Telecaster.
But if you don't feel more drawn to one guitar than the others, you should just go to the guitar store and try all four. See how they sound and feel in person.
cool but does it play metal? XD

DarthKazi 11 months ago
@JakeThaSkater The blacktop series is good because of the Bridge/Neck pickups have that darker sound. It is all a preference of what kind of body/tailpiece/bridge/scale you want with this series mostly. (Except that the Jazzmaster is a H/S compared to the rest of the guitars in the series which are H/H.)

@JakeThaSkater It'd be the shit.

I just got mine today, is the bridge supposed to be floating above the body a little bit right out of the box?
BattleCry100 11 months ago
@BattleCry100 Yes that's so you can get some vibrato out of the trem but if you set it against the body it will stay in tune better.

@NstuffMusic Thank You very much for the info!
BattleCry100 11 months ago
can this huitar get the same sounds as fender sss ?
iConverseMyLife 11 months ago
@iConverseMyLife The Blacktop does split to single coils but it does not sound exactly like a SSS strat.
NstuffMusic 11 months ago
@NstuffMusic thank you :)

Nice guitar, i'm rather keen on purchasing one. I wonder if it's the same as the one i've seen in stores here. It was a blacktop strat, but it had black (not chrome) pick-ups.

Please reply, this or the Jaguar? I can't decide =P
jamesbullet55 1 year ago
@jamesbullet55 The Strat will be a bit more versatile but the Jaguar has a fuller sound. Depends what style of music you play.
NstuffMusic 1 year ago
Damn I want this +_+ Hey man would this be a good guitar for punk? :D
jamesbullet55 1 year ago
@jamesbullet55 The Blacktop is good for any style.

I've been looking at adding a HH strat to my collection. Do you know if this has a large swimming pool routing. I'm also curious if there are any other dual humbucker strats out there that I should look into? Fender 2010 FSR Standard Stratocaster HH perhaps? Looks nice and sounds pretty good.
joesl8 1 year ago
@joesl8 As far as Dual humbucking Strat's go this is the one.
NstuffMusic 1 year ago
OK, thanks, i´ll go for the blacktop tele then...
panchoojam 1 year ago
Is this the one that cost around $450.00, or a higher priced one? And where is it made, mexico maybe? I think it sounds great if it is. I would love to have this guitar. I've heard Gibson is kind of living on their name, but obviously Fender is stll making great instruments.
usetheforce92 1 year ago
@usetheforce92 $419.99 at nstuffmusic and they are made in Mexico.

I don't care for the big amp looking knobs. so ugly.
CureRadio 1 year ago
@CureRadio Well, Jimmy Page used a Telecaster almost exclusively on the first Zeppelin album, as well as for some later stuff, including the Stairway to Heaven solo. Search YouTube for "communication breakdown danmarks" to see his Telecaster.
But if you don't feel more drawn to one guitar than the others, you should just go to the guitar store and try all four. See how they sound and feel in person.
