The only downfall is that she don't act as Tina, She screams more, harshs more, but don't add the emotion that Tina did.

And something tells me that if they werent sure about what Patti was bringin to the table, they wouldnt have asked her to do this. This woman used to open for the Who, when she was with the Bluebelles in the 60's...she has history with this band. So whats the big deal about her version?...they liked it..the crowd gave her an ovation..whats not to like? They asked her to sing it, she didnt ask them.

I like both Patti and Tina, don't think that Patti was trying to teach anything to Tina, though. Obviously Patti's voice range is completely differente than Tina's and Tina's voice is definately rocky. Patti has tried to be like Tina somehow, especially if we think that Tina's perfomance at this piece was absolutely full of scenic power.

This last show featured Steve Winwood as the Hawker, Billy Idol as the cousin, Patti as the acid queen, Elton John as the pinball wizard and Phil Collins as Uncle Ernie. They performed Tommy completely, then the 2nd half was the Who's greatest hits. This is on DVD.

One of the better Labelle performances...teaming her up with her ol' buddies, that she used to open for when she and the Bluebelles, went to the UK. The Who, seemed to get a big kick outta this, too. This is one of the reasons why I dig her so much..she can do the really thick r&b shit...but she can totally rock out and do some wild shit like this. The Who seemed to get a HUGE kick outta backin' her up, too. I believe she and the Bluebelles opened for them and the Stones, in the 60's
