  • i've been doing these since i was five.

  • i was able to solve a 15 puzzle when i was 10 in 36 seconds flat and i only used the middle finger on my left hand. like if you think that i could beat the world record. note: im only 13 but im learning new strategies.

and i could first solve these when i was 8 1/2

  • @joejoebobbob1 What's the world record?

  • @mnfdrums Best i saw was like 10 seconds i think... So now im only 13 away from gettin it.

  • Swap 14 with 15 after you solve the puzzle and you'll never be able to solve the new one.

  • ive figured this out on my own in school cuz my friend brought it...its pretty easy to solve it...except the parities lol :) THUMBS UP :D

  • i can put the 13 after i put the 9 in. move the 13 under the 9 and open a gap under the 5. put the 5 in the gap, the 9 in the gap, the 13 in the gap and then clear the last square. then move them all into place. i do it in numeric order. so it's put the one into place, the 2, 3 and move the 4 under the 3. then empty the spot under the 2, pull the 2 down, put the 3 in the 2 spot, the 4 in the 3 spot. now u have one in the 4 spot. pull it down and put the res in. fairly easy.

  • I have this app on my zune HD with a best time of 8 secs and 14 moves (its only a 3x3 puzzle though)

  • I discovered how to solve it by myself...

  • I watched some other strategies and they didn't work but yours worked quickly and efficiently Thank You

  • awesome

  • lol these are so simple

  • ha. it took you three minutes?? i can do those things in about 15 seconds on average. my record is 13 seconds tho.... so suck it :P

  • @pianobeast110 That was his first solve he ever did! He didnt even know the right method!

  • @ejello2 i call shenanigans.

  • wow thanks this help me alot on final fantasy 20th aniversery editon

  • when u did the 9 and 13 there was a much easier way to do it

  • :) found mine at the thrift store in perfect condition (with the snap pouch) for $1.48, no tax--non-profit (501c3) organization!! Puzzle sells for $9.99 (plus tax and/or shipping). Thanks for the tutorial, was able to solve but much slower...thanks for showing how to manipulate the pieces!

  • Oh, another technique for this puzzle! I have done it just putting them in numerical order, 1234.. etc. Nice, must try that. My record is 51seconds.

  • the who kick ass!

  • this thing is so easy

  • i easily figured this out myself

  • You sound weird in this video...o-o...very very weird.

  • if you are in charlotte north carolina like me you can go to a really good puzzle store called "paper skyscraper". it has really good puzzles like this

  • loll...i found a cheapy plastic one at Pier 1 Imports fer 3 bucks god deal..it actually works pretty okay...plast ic not metal so it does lock up..but thats not something modding wont fix

  • i just got one today at barnes and noble i solved it on my own but this wis way easier thx

  • i live in michigan where can i get this exact same puzzle

  • barns and noble or a hobby shop

  • me 2 :)

  • this is easily the best method out there for some reason i find this more fun than cubing.... because my cube time is 45 sec =(

  • oh and for the last 2 layers I set up a snake of 10, 9, 13, 14 on the very last row. When you slide this snake "in" to the left, it will essentially solve the 2x2 square on bottom left, and the last 3 numbers will always be solved after rearrangement.

  • Haha, cool man. I really don't solve this much, but if I had it on my phone I'm sure I would.

I like this video because it was my first tutorial, even though the method is maybe not the best. I like your idea of making a line and placing them all at once. :)

  • Interesting how you solve it :D

I have this on my iphone so I play with it all the time. I have come up with a pretty good way of solving these things... I set up snakes of solutions. So.. 1234 snake and slide it in for example. If its hard to do a snake, i do the 12 and then 34. But essentially the same thing as you though. I can do them in 20-30 seconds its very addictive :D

  • Where can I buy this?

  • You can play it online. Otherwise, I think cube4you has them, or hobby shops.

  • ah yes. the 15 puzzle. the puzzle the led me to want to learn how to solve a rubik's cube =D

cept the first puzzles that i actually learned to solve were those slide puzzles in your private cabana in Legend of Zelda:Wind Waker.

  • I figured this puzzle out by mysself... but ya i totally agree with K2Vvidz...

  • this is an extremely easy puzzle.... I have it. I think its to make a tutorial for. Oh and u might want to try mixing it up by solving it vertically or diagonally... it makes it more fun

  • i solve it three ways 1)1-15 2)15-1 3)odd on top in order even on bottom in order

  • yea i got this twice under ten seconds. ive never seen anyone solve it this way before

  • please please please, make a vid of you solving the fifteen puzzle in 10 sec

  • its hard as shit to do. ive only done it twice. as soon as i get my ipod back ill try to make one showing my top times then ill do the puzzle to show that im fast but it doesnt matter how fast you are, it has to be a real nice setup to get sub ten

  • Yes ^^ you can klick new game until it's almost done by itself xD but I although would like to see a vid of you solving it if you have time thx

  • this isn't the best way to do it, but I give you credit for trying. I can solve them in about 15 seconds, regularly. And I can also solve a rubik's cube for good measure.

  • I had one of these on my PDA back in the day. Really fun while sitting in church. I miss it.

  • i cant undersatnd wat ur sayin your mumbling

  • i can solve this thing in about 45 seconds(not lying)

  • Yes, but can you solve a rubik's cube? :)

  • haha....no.

  • i can:D, can you?

  • @LanceTheBlueKnight where can i get one of them?

  • @jeuter ummmm 45 seconds is terrible... i've done it in 13...

  • @pianobeast110 also depends on the scramble :O. some can be done very quickly some take longer.

  • Where did you get yours?

  • Boreders

  • Great Tutorial!

  • good tutorial!

  • Thank you so much this was very helpful to me i kept on getting stuck on the bottom two numbers . yea now its like pretty easy

  • me too

  • that how i do it to but i moved fast as hell some tips to become better use shapes that make the numbers seem easily

  • i do these puzzles differently to you, I get the top and second layers first, then then bottom left corner then the bottom right.

  • iv done a sliding puzzle with 99 pieces, and im getting one of these same puzzles very soon.

  • Nice! I wish I had one of those!

  • you cant get them anywhere but if you type 15 puzzle into google and click on the third link you can play with loads of different sized ones online

  • hey lance i have one of these its fun to do them like 15 2 1 and odd 1s firstand stuff like that.

  • this worked really good!!!!

  • thats like the worst way you could ever do it

  • Post a video of you solving it faster than I can, and I'll be glad to listen to you tell me how much my video sucks.

Until then, you're just blowing steam out of your ass, and I could care less.

  • You Irish?

  • What makes you say that? :)

  • Sometimes when you talk I here a but of an Irish tone

  • Hee hee. Well I'm not Irish, I'm afraid. I'm mostly British; English and Scottish,

  • Well maybe Im mixing those up

  • hmmm.... nice video, but i never really did it strategically. i did it intuitively, like i do the rubiks cube. :D

  • just a 4x4 slide puzzle but fun as hell

  • does it have a case or stand etc...?

  • It has a red rubbery case. See my puzzle collection video if you care enough haha, I think I show the case.

  • it has a leather made case pouch

  • mines way faster and easier.maybe i'll post a video of it sometime

  • can i get it online?

  • You can get anything online. = P

  • haha okays!

  • do the pieces ever fall off?

  • Sometimes.. No biggie though. This isn't really a competitive puzzle so I don't solve it.

  • well u cud do a fewest moves challenge with it

  • Well, if you wanted to, I guess... but still it's a bit too intuitive to be interesting to me. I can count on one hand how many times I've solved this since I made this tutorial.

  • where do you get one??

  • I cannot believe there is a tutorial on this puzzle. This is one of the most intuitive puzzles on the market.

  • It is, but some people have problems with when two pieces are oriented wrong. Screwing around with trial and error takes too long, so I thought I would show a simple way of doing it quickly. Just for people who want to solve this quickly it might help.

But you're right, I don't like this puzzle. I think I've solved it once since I made this video like 6 months ago.

  • Nicely done, what about the order with 15 in the up left corner until 1 in the almost down right corner?

  • Thanks for helping us!

  • dude!i bought that too i have the excact same kind

  • FINALLY!!! A good tutorial!!!

  • i can do that in 10 seconds

  • thanks man, I have been solving mine(just got it today, a lot lately, but I wasn't always sure of the last part(last two rows, thanks for clearing it up) great tutorial by the way...there should be more on youtube, maybe I'll make one.

  • Lol ive never seen one before :D but you know i dont get out much ~ Jad

  • that is really cool.

where did you happen to get it?

  • I got this at a neat little store called "Kites and Other Delights", which specializes in toys, models, games, and puzzles. Any good games and puzzles shop should have something like this.

Check the local mall! = D

  • i got mine at a Barnes and Noble if it helps :)

  • cool,i'll check there

  • woot, your AWSOME!!!!! that was a MAD!!!!!! puzzle :) shiny and attractive and fun :)

  • lol thanks, I'm horrible at this, I havn't touched it since I made this video. Theres a dude on YouTube who solves it in like 10 seconds.

  • ohhh cool :)

  • Holy crap... this is exactly what I needed, now what I need is the freaking puzzle!

And I too want a UFO, but that will have to wait. This puzzle is SHINY!

  • I'm glad you like it! This puzzle is easy to find at most hobby and game shops. I got mine at "Kites and other Delights" if you have one of those near you. And yes it is very shiny! = D

  • I would be getting one, but my headphones are dead, and my music > any puzzle, lol.

  • wow this was very helpful . i was doing an online one because i dont have one yet but i solved it EASILY using your method. thanks alot for the tutorial

  • You're welcome, I'm glad it helped.

  • you couldnt find my tutorial? in my tutorial i dont have voice, but you should still be able to see what im doing.

Wow, your mind sure thinks differently than mine.. You solve it 1,5,9,2,6,10 and so on? never thought about doing that. try using both ur thumbs, you can do it faster.. check out my vid too for my way of doign it
