As for the anti-missile shield the US plans to install in Europe, go read about it. It will consist of Aegis missiles and radars, which are not capable against ICBMs. Only the interceptors that will be installed after 2020 will have a capability against ICBMs, but they will be in a too smaller number to have an effect on the Russian arsenal of ICBMs.

@vfIskullangel The only thing the F-35 and Yak-141 have in common is the idea of putting 2 means of propulsion for the VTOL and this only for the F-35B. But that's where "similarities" end. The F-35's design is very different from that of the Yak-141. The Yak-141 is based on the Su-24 (which in turn was based on the F-111) and the F-35's design is based on the F-16. From design point of view, these 2 aircraft have nothing in common.

Besides that, you can clearly see how the F-35's design is different from that of the Yak-141. It resembles more with the F-16, while the Yak-141 resembles more with the Su-24 (which was totally copied after the F-111).

@KEEPitGREEN4201 Dude, Yak-141 is based on Yak-38 design which was developed before Tomcat. So I would say Tomcat wanted to be Yak-38. In fact F-14 and Mig-23 were very similar in many respects. But not Yak's. They're pretty much unique.
