@hjmndj I bought a Kia Forte in 2009 and its been reliable. I had one mild problem with the steering when I first bought it but they fixed it under warranty. Its never let me down.

It's a nice car, but there are several pre owned vehicles I would buy in the same price range.
Within a few months, a 2007 Mercedes Benz S550 4Matic, with low mileage will be in the same price range. Even with 70k miles I would take the Merc in a heart beat.
This is a brand new vehicle... Buying a used Mercedes is the dumbest thing you can do. Unless you can afford a brand new one I would stay away from high end vehicles selling for cheap. Otherwise you will be praying nothing breaks on that car, even the maintenance alone is a fortune. This car is awesome, a little over priced but really good.

I've been surprised at how striking KIAs have become in recent time. It's still going to take some time before I will develop some faith for their cars' reliability though.
Great review...i go to korea on business all the time and have seen this there and liked the looks...i had no idea it got such good mileage...i have a bunch of cars, but am thinking of trading my 2004 E55 AMG on one...i lie the E55s rediculous power, but the reliability truly sucks...i want a nice reliable sedan that is also fun to drive...this looks like it.
@MrStlover99 I like the STI...and have for years...the engine is epic. I like the KIA though as it is considerably cheaper and gets incredible mileage for a 270hp car. Adter you have an AMG, virtually every other car feels slow, but the KIA seems a nice compromise for fun to drive and utility...I am going back to Korea tomorrow for a couple weeks...KIA and HYUNDAI make several models there we dont get here...some are super tiny, incredibly efficient hatchbacks...very tiny though.
@shawncweed That's a hard decision to make. I like what Hyundai and Kia are doing with their cars, good performance, features and value but your E55AMG is a beast. I know it's your decision but really you should keep your E55AMG, you probably spent so much maintaining it anyway it's better to keep driving it.
@7477238 Thanks for the note...am in Korea right now. The AMG has been a lot of fun and for a sedan, it is madness...The negative on the AMG has been the reliability. We have had more issues with that car than any other. A sensor goes out and you get stranded and have to have the car towed. Maintenance is always exorbitant. I have a Lotus Elise which is bullet proof by comparison. Plan is away with the AMG, get the KIA as a daily driver, then an M6 conv. for family fun, wife gets the Lotus.
I thought the video was pretty good except a front wheel drive with 270hp???? what were they thinking.. and I was distracted quite a bit with that thing on her nose.

Getting 40 WHP out of a tune job is rare...and that means that the engine has been set poorly from factory (like say on the mitsu RA and EVO). The WRX and STI have NOT been set poorly at the factory and a tune job on those will only net you like 20 WHP...and that assume somebody good goes in and spends a few hours on it. Besides which 500 hp on the STI = broken diff.
@TheKidNamedRoland from my experience modding those cars it's not out of reach with stock internals rods pistons stuff like that but you need some heavy drivetrain swaps tuning no it's much easier said then done, it's kind of like saying a rb26 swap into a 240sx is easy
Got this as a rental today.... I must say, I am duly impressed. Ms Hall, you are funny, beautiful and quite sexy. Oh yeah.. the Kia.. As I was saying the handling impressed me as well as the acceleration of the 4cyl. I can only imagine the kick of the Turbo or V6 models.

I love your review. I've owned a Corsa Blue SX for three months now and its siiickkk!!! You should get one for yourself too. I valet parked my car at the Cosmo in VEgas and the kid who pulled it up was like "That's a f.....king Kia?!??!" great value but people need to realize subaru imperzas wrx sti (four cylinder boxer engine) can be tuned easily to 500hp theres even a 1000hp sti. ive seen vids of stis beat audi r8's etc etc. dont underestimate the power of any engine when pushed to their limits. especially the new penastar v-6. CHRYSLER GROUP ALL DAY BITCH!

@TheKidNamedRoland By easily tuned to 500 HP...hahaha you mean I am clueless and spewing total BS. Getting 40 WHP out of a tune job is rare...and that means that the engine has been set poorly from factory (like say on the mitsu RA and EVO). The WRX and STI have NOT been set poorly at the factory and a tune job on those will only net you like 20 WHP...and that assume somebody good goes in and spends a few hours on it. Besides which 500 hp on the STI = broken diff.

@TheKidNamedRoland from my experience modding those cars it's not out of reach with stock internals rods pistons stuff like that but you need some heavy drivetrain swaps tuning no it's much easier said then done, it's kind of like saying a rb26 swap into a 240sx is easy

Got this as a rental today.... I must say, I am duly impressed. Ms Hall, you are funny, beautiful and quite sexy. Oh yeah.. the Kia.. As I was saying the handling impressed me as well as the acceleration of the 4cyl. I can only imagine the kick of the Turbo or V6 models.

i like this car car alot and im a serious honda fiend.... i like this sedan better than the accord sedan, i would get this if i need a family sedan , its not a sports car, but it looks amazing. it has alot of power and it gets good mileage even if that motor is turbo its still very good . the koreans are pressuring honda and other jdm companys , it will be interesting to see if they step it up instead of playing it safe with there models. if not they will lose there loyal customers... hense
