The video fails to address one very important flaw with the arguement that the match of the century was a conflict between communism and capitalism. That is neither Spassky or Fischer were very good representatives of their political systems. Spassky was a patriotic Russian dissident who was only tolerated for his talent by soviet leaders. Fischer was a genius with severe mental problems which resulted in extreme anti-semetism and him praising the events of the 9/11 attacks.
@friki143 Yeah. I read King's Gambit by Paul Hoffman (I believe it's that one anyway. I've read so many chess books) and he makes the point that Spassky is actually a really nice guy.
Bobby was a self-made genius at chess...but that didn't stop him from failing as a human being. Poor guy.
