Well we are not suppose to stop living and do nothing and just wait on His return. That was never God's intentions. His Word warns us that His coming is near and to get ready. God's timing is not our timing obviously, so His timetable is different than ours. Nevertheless, I believe we are to make use of the time that we have left here on earth to spread the Gospel to all and not just set on down on our blessed assurance and wait. Get busy with what the Lord would have us to do, HE IS COMING!

i heard the same message 30 years ago. i believed every word, i "knew" the rapture would occur any minute. well i skipped college because i "knew" the end was near, so why go into debt? now i'm paying for it. the rapture doctrine really got popular with the scofield ref. bible in 1909. it's pretty much a 20th century phenom. it was cooked up in the 19th century. just google the origins.

@roudy1689 Well, God did not expect us 2 put our lives on hold just because the rapture could take place right this second. Jesus left us on Earth 2 do the great commission, not 2 sit here & wait 4 Him 2 return. When Jesus was on Earth, people felt the same way you do. When Jesus said He would return, they thought He would come the very next day. Well, it's been 2,000 years. BUT, Jesus WILL return very soon. We just don't know when. Prophecy has 2 take place before He does.

guys, I have the pastor david's book. I read and I enjoyed it. I am not an american and what I noticed is also a deep patriotism of my brother in christ, that happens to be an american. My point here is, if US is no longer the global currency reserve, not necessarily is the end and the antichrist is here. I believe that the world will go on with a weak, poor USA (maybe divided in two or three different countries) and the world will continue to be divided in nations as it is.

I understand americans think that, without the US this world is 'done" etc.etc. well, I believe the usa can be done, broken and the world goes on. I don't like to see patriotism linked to biblical prophecies. Who said that the Lord is planning to come back after the end of the USA? I personally believe we will live decades and more decades after the financial destruction of US and life as we know will continue. US will be just one (or two, three) more nation in a adapting world.

god fortold the very year 1948 over 2,000 years ago, for Isreals return to her land, He then states, the generation that see's Isreal return, is the Last One before Tribulation. The coming War is written in Ezekiel 38-39, America will also be attacked, out of this war the anti christ arises. God has measured time, and there is none left. Without Christ, no survival.
