  • You are a fucking cunt, Robert Fripp introduced this in the 80s and no one else tried this! You should credit him because he is a genius and you are just some piece of shit.

On the other hand, nice composition, I enjoyed it. But you owe more respect to Mr. Fripp, cunt.

  • @Wayavas1337 Thanks (?), please take your med's

  • @EpiphoneGear You need to understand my message, Robert Fripp introduced this in the 80s. End of discussion. No one else tried it becaue he is a genius and you are just copying him ok?

  • @Wayavas1337 Um, actually, I only know Robert Fripp by name. This project was completed in about 2 hours, and the video/info is just for people who are interested in something alternate to "standard tuning". That said, I have not downgraded RF at all. I haven't heard much of him over my life. I do find it interesting that violins have used all fifth tunings since the early 16th century, and for RF to immerse himself in the tuning and explore it over his career is a credit to him.

  • simply amazing.

  • the beginning sounded sooooo kinsella like! awesome dude!

  • I like standard tuning, but now I can finally the merit to NST. It really seems powerful for solo guitar (fifths will do that). But as you said in your description, it doesn't sound ideal for string tension.

  • Really great work, that's a fine progressive sound!

  • If you really like all 5ths tuning check out the website for TK guitars. He gives a good overview as to what strings to use. You have to make your own set to keep the tension where it needs to be. A 6 string guitar tuned to all fifths will have the range of an 8 string guitar, but in my opinion that's all you gain, range. when playing scales you move toward the nut while going UP the scale. Opposite of standard tuning unless you play 4 notes per string. Which is a pain.

  • nice upload man,now i know why i want to try this tuning

  • This is one of my favorite songs to listen to when I am paying bills. I think I hit the replay button at least 3 or 4 times!! I almost have it memorized now! Sometimes I am out grocery shopping and I will be humming this dern thing!! LOL..t:)

  • i first started this tuning on my own when i tried some classical pieces (violin/Cello-stuff) but i switched back after 2 days(that was 4 years ago) . 2 weeks ago i gave it a try again and think its a very underrated tuning! the intervals are closer and i less positionshifts are needed.. i love it! its like a whole new musical dimension! i never switch back! its worth the effort ;)

  • good job! this is exactly what i was looking for! i stumbled on a wiki article on this tuning and was very intrigued and wanted to see an acoustic example of how to play it and here it is! kudos. btw feel free to check my vids and even criticize me if you so wish. ( i wont get offended. criticism is a major step for progress in nearly all art) how can one progress without the knowledge of what to make better? ya know?

  • @zackypooofillinois Cool thanks. The main issue with this tuning is, the low string goes floppy, while the high string is too tight. Unsure if there is a string set designed for this tuning, otherwise, you need to make up your own from single sets, which can cost a bit. There is a d'addario tension chart online which might help. If you know your prefered tension, you can buy the exact string gauges you need. I actually like NST for chord work. Cheers

  • @EpiphoneGear I just tuned my strat to NST. I found that taking the high strings from a set of 9s with the low strings from a set of 12s seems to have a fairly even tension and not much buzz.

  • This is truly a great piece of music you made there...I really take my hat of to you sir.

  • it's progressive, chill, uplifting, and sounds bananas. holy macarole

  • by god this is killer on my sg, must upload a video as i played some howling hair with it.

  • Brilliant!

  • DUDE! I haven't been on YT for a bit. This was soooooo cool!!!! I don't even have the words to tell you. Intriguing, beguiling--I don't know. All I can say is that it was ear candy. I want your tune on my iPod.

  • @Marlina66 Cool thanks. Yea, it is a cool tuning. It makes me feel very hippie-ish. I can imagine a lot of free thinking hippies from the 70's getting into NST.

  • It's like having a sort of mostly unknown sonic world in front of yourself... a great way, I think, for to challenge oneself to search new ways, new expressions... beyond old, sometimes entrapping habits!

By the way, your beautiful composition has a very unique flavour! :-)

    Thumb-up+fav.!

  • @danbergam thanks man. It is difficult to come up with something different. The harmonic minor stuff seems like the only different thing. I will be working on all kinds of music over the next 10 years. btw, It is hard to play music which isnt porn music. So much porn, seems to use modern guitar. Need to look in other directions me thinks. Cheers

  • @EpiphoneGear Not thats porn is bad. Love porn music. Ha

  • @EpiphoneGear

Well, don't know how guitar in that kind of music sounds... but I guess I can wish you to play the music which makes you happy!

    :-)

  • @EpiphoneGear WHAT?? LOL Porn music SUCks!! ;)

  • @agrlfmtx Ha, thats the thing! A lot of P music is actually quite good! The issue for guitarists is, P music is dominated by funk, blues, rock and metal instrumentals. So, it is very easy to slip into a P music sound without knowing it. I find a lot of guitar instrumentals very porn-ish, which im sure they arn't ment to be. So, yea, anytime I heard myself sliping into P music, I run the other way. Bow chicka wow wow!

  • @EpiphoneGear I thought it was "bone chicka dow dow"! LOL...I have a friend that got a loan for some equipment....I asked him what it was for and he said he was starting a "P" site...I told him I would do the music with my ukulele!! LOL...(all in fun of course)..t:)

  • @agrlfmtx O, I can see that. Play that fast banjo tune they play during old american police chase movies, or that baseball tune with the ba da-da da da-da! at the end. Be the first to actually have... A live band on set!!! No overdubbin. So, the band can actually capture the events as they happen! I can hear all the blooper music now. ha

  • @EpiphoneGear I could make SO many comments right now..LOL..BUT, I am a good girl I am!! LOL.
