Is this the most perfect piece of music ever composed? One doesn't have to believe in the fact that Christ was crucified to understand the beauty of the music. Rutter the composer as far as I know is an athiest, but listen to his choral music. It is sublime.

This is so wonderfully, quintessentially Bach. He was, though rigid at times, such a genius for all time. I have to listen to his music, it is just so lovely. Great interpretation too!

I remember rehearsing this lovely piece as a chorister in 1944 in Newcastle Cathederal. I've always loved it since and it's so nice to hear it again.
