He was easier because the real boss was the golem. The game knew you used up your runes on that, so Neclord was more of a ceremonial fight.

well, technically, if you've played suikoden 1, neclord's body got very damaged from Victor and and the Star Dragon Sword. That's why in suikoden 2, he's not as powerful as in the first one, he was still recovering, in fact, if i'm not mistaken, the first time you run in to neclord in North Window City in Suikoden 2, he mentions his body is still in pain and recovering from that fight. If that helps explain at all why he was weak in this game as a boss fight.

Neclord deserved his unique Battle Theme but at least they could have made the fight HARDER. It's not normal that such an important and powerful foe goes down in about 1 minute ... At least in Suikoden 1 he put up a good fight.

He is actually very hard if you don't know his golem in the fight before him is immune to magic. If you waste all your 1-shot only best runes on the golem Neclord is a much tougher fight.

Still, I do agree.  Neclord sorta got wimpified in this game.

The Golem boss isn't immune to magic, and in fact it is weak to lightning magic specifically.

It's been a few years so I may be remembering incorrectly, but if not lightning I would swear he was immune to most spells. I unloaded my best ones on him and don't remember doing any real damage to him at all. I need to dig up my game again...if nothing else this gives me an excuse to play it again :)

Well, it's because we faced another boss battle (The Golem) before we face him. So, naturally Konami doesn't want to make the fight hard enough to kill us.... because we might have depleted our Runes and items....

Yeah suikoden's 1 and 2 were fucking brilliant, and ff7 i played them both around the same time i loved them for diffrent reason's but the fact you could have such versatile amount of combat style made it great, i mean #1 was like 15 od character's and #2 i think had about 125, how good is that :D
