  • I epilate my legs and it never has been painful for me but it hurt when I did my underarms....believe it or not but I was actually bleeding. I believe waxing is better because the more u wax the hair jus gets finner and finner and it grows in slowly so eventually u will only need to wax after every 6 months. So its worth waxing.

  • I love ur accent....it got me thru an 11 minute video on epilators lol

  • Nvm it's like mixed she sounds american some parts and other parts she sounds british... O.o

  • @rss97 irish

  • Where is she from? She has a little accent... sounds aussie

  • @rss97 She's Irish.

  • The first time I used an epilator was pretty painful and I had to take a lot of breaks. But now the more and more I use it the less it's starting to hurt

  • I'm 13 and started epilating when i was 11 i use a very basic epilator and i found that if you use it on the lowest setting fist and then work your way upi to the highest setting it far less painful or put it on to a part of your skin which is already hair-free like your hand or foot and the work your way up to the hair it is also less painful

  • do you know that you are so beautiful ?! you are beautiful so so beautiful

  • in my opinion, it hurt more then getting tattooed

  • I used one once on my shin and scabbed up after. -___-;;; Hurt like hell. Sugaring is a bit more tolerable, but since it's messy and I keep messing up the recipe, I think I'm going back to using the device.

  • The first time you do it hurts so much but over time the pain hurts less and less! It gives a great outcome.

  • It's only painful the first time..when you touch up (only remove the newly growing hairs) it is not as painful, and very tolerable.. but the fist time when my hair was long, it was painful ( i will admit) but when my hair was growing back ( a week later) i just did a touch up and was surprised at the fact that the pain was not half as bad as the fist time. I'm so happy with my purchase.

  • lmao I felt the same when I did it for the first time! Pure torture.....

  • It's really not that bad once you get used to it, and well worth the pain, cause the results are amazing compared to shaving.

  • epilators only hurt sensitive ppl... i was 9 wen i started using epilators. I started using my mum's epilator - One of the oldest epilators from th 80's.

Now I use the the new epilators and they hurt 1/8.

So if u wanna look pretty, then deal with the pain

  • you're suppose to wait until your skin is dry!

  • Who's your white-haired, wide-eyed friend in the back? Is that your boyfriend?

  • these really don't hurt that much... i mean to say that u would rather wax is dumb because it is the same thing but waxing is just faster... i thing that like any typre of hair removal it just takes getting used to and eventually you don't even feel it

  • @Brittnoiserz basically, epilating mostly hurts on your boney areas therefore if you are fat and flabby there is more of a distance from the epilating and your boness thus meaning leass pain.........it a totally made up theory but trust me its true! :D

  • @cowerth ok...... read your comment and then think to yourself. Does pulling hair make my bones hurt? Or even better yet. Do my bones cause pain? Answer: NO!!!!!! It is the nerve endings that run throughout your body near the skins surface. The only reason your bones hurt when your bruise them or break them is due to a thin membrane, called the periosteum, breaks which is rich in blood vessels and nerves. Science lesson for the day.

  • I like your little monkey bear behind you! :)

  • Are you Irish?

  • The youtube commercials are very different on videos like this than the ones I usually watch...

  • @jmile002 hair growth speed varies with each person. the average is 3 to 4 weeks. In your case it only means your body is healthier than the average so it heals and recovers faster. Be glad :)

  • I use epilator but my legs are never smooth after though my hairs do not grow evenly, some are faster other are not. Also, I have a sensitive skin and the bumps after using it go away after a day or so. Still I prefer it to waxing and to shaving (it's not a wise think to shave your legs above knees). And about the pain, its not that bad, only first couple of times, later it's just awesome looking at hairs being pulled out, with less and less pain each time :D like there you go suckers haha

  • omg almost 11 minutes talking about the epilator?!

  • you make me laugh so much

  • the fatter you are the less epilating hurts!

  • Aww u seem really nice! Can I ask you, when you had your eyebrows threaded did it hurt the same amount as this epilator or more??? Because I get my eyebrows threaded all the time and I can't feel a thing - although my first time was PAINNNFUL! And i have brought this epilator but not used it yet, so it would help if you could reasure me how bad it compares to threading. Best wishes, Georgina x

  • I got the Braun Silk Epilator 7 for £35 because they'd put it on the wrong place in the shelf! I was scared to use it but this made me feel better to thankyou! I'll go for it tonight!

  • a little verbose...but very very helpful. Thanks for the comparison and tips.

  • i use the epilator now, its really good. it may be painful at the start but you get used to eat. I think it is worth the pain.

  • cool accent!

  • thanks, greeeaaat review! :D

  • Eyebrow threading isn't supposed to hurt. You probably went to a really bad person.

  • Seriously epilators do not hurt. The way all these comments go on about them is laughable. When i got mine in the post i was terrified imaging such unbearable pain. Women on YouTube videos rolling round the floor in agony. Have a drink first etc even some admitting to crying when they used it. This little device has almost reduced grown men to tears. Is it honestly that bad? No way!! Dont listen to negative comments. And that's from someone with low pain tolerance, its easy :)

  • @jessiza1 Even though I agree with you, it really depends on the person, and how thick their hair is. =/ I don't feel it at all under my arms, but on my legs and hurts a lot more (not unbearable, but it hurts much more)

  • @jessiza1 what epilator did you buy ?

  • @xXxislaxXx

Braun Silk-épil 3170 Soft Perfection Epilator - its only 30 pounds if you buy from amazon. The only thing i will say is it can hurt a little if you epilate under your arms but its bearable. And personally its the better alternative to shaving/waxing in my opinion.

  • @jessiza1 wrong my girlfriend did it to me and it hurts alot lol

  • I got this Braun one in Boots a week and a bit ago and it was just over 100 euro as it was a third off. Even got double points on my card because I used one of the coupons they sent out in the post :). It hurt quite badly the first time especially around the ankles. You're meant to do it every week for a month at the start and then you're able to get a month or so out of it and it didn't hurt at all the second time :) So amazing I'm looking forward to my summer of smooth legs for a month!

  • Can I borrow one of your fabulous shoes? I'm a size 6 1/2.

  • I'm a guy and I bought the exact same model. LOVE IT!!!!! Makes leg shaving obsolete. You WILL have to get past the initial removal which is hell on earth with respect to the pain but once you get past that, it becomes much easier. Do it in the shower and use soap if you want although it is recommended you just use water. I used it with soap and it was still plucking the hairs. So there you have it! If you've been on the fence about getting one, man up and get it!!! You'll be glad you did ;)

  • braun silk-epil 7 is the best, its the first epilator i have ever used and it was amazing, i did it on dry skin first but its better in the bath, i used it on all my legs and arms and it hardly hurt, but it did hurt like hell under my arms!

  • hi when your first epilatored your legs did you get little red dots? thanks

  • @jaimemakeup I did! So I would recommend epilating a day or two before showing off your legs.

  • @jaimemakeup i did. just leave it overnight and it dissapears.

  • okay right now you desribing your feelings is scary me from shaving my legs

  • @JDSekhon its hurts less than waxing :P

  • I bought one today, and it hurt a lot but now i am so smooth.. does it really get better as you use it more? cause it hurt wicked bad. i bled lol

  • @InTheMomment It hurts less the more you use it. It was fairly agonizing the first time I used it on my armpits, but it never hurt much to use anywhere else...it does get better, though. I quite enjoy using it, nowadays, and will use it when I'm bored, sitting on my couch watching movies and stuff, lol :)

  • how do you feel about papsmears way off the subject but its one of those ppl touching you things

  • Comment removed

  • @coolvampires epilator seems painful. really painful. does cream work?????????

  • @YouPissMeOffIWackU if u dont mind smelling nasty for a few days....

  • love ur shoes !! BEHIND on d DOOR!!!!

  • i have one but it dont hurt me lol

  • I have that epilator it is so worth the money

  • I love your voice and your really pretty too.

  • I've got the same thing with my pale hair! Everyone says they don't notice it, but *I* do!

  • um so can you use it underwater? cos i got one too, but i'm scared it might get damaged underwater cos afterall it IS charged and stuff but i dunno...like can the epilator be fully underwater and still work??? plz help

  • @GGGIRLGGG8181 no you cant. you can only do it if your skins wet.

  • The Silk epil Xelle 5270 is great as well, only difference is that you can't get it wet. Quite a bit less expensive, so it might be a good option for people who just use theirs after getting out of the bath.

If you keep up with removing the hair as soon as it grows back, the hair comes out much, much easier. I have even just run the thing up my leg when I didn't really see anything but it seemed to pick up a few stray hairs.

    Great video!

  • You have a slight British accent, no?

  • @91Metaman91 she's irish you muggins

  • how long does the pain last?

  • WAYYY too much talk!

  • I bought the same one as you (the second one) and it was 200$ CAN. I dont think it really hursts.

  • Lmao, my grandmother let me try her Epilady, FROM THE 80's, so I could test the pain before I bought one and I have to say I have a high tolerance for pain, but that was just INSANE. It didnt pull very many hairs out a once so you have to go OVER AND OVER AND OVER, oh god it was terrible. I spent a half an hour practically pulling hairs out one by one for only ONE leg lol. I think ill have to test a new one because that was completely ridiculous!

  • I bought the braun (silk epil xpress yada yada) epilator after i saw this video. I have to say, it's quite excellent! Didn't hurt much except on the finer hairs of my body that haven't ever been plucked or shaved, like my forearms especially. Only bad thing is it costs so much in the US...132 dollars D: oh well, if i use this for five years it will be worth it...thanks for suggesting this product!!!

  • i'm not concerned by epilating, but you're damn fokin pretty.

  • I'm 14 and I have my mums old old one!x I cried the first couple of times!x BUT it is defo worth it, even after the first epilation it takes AGES for the hairs to grow back whereas when i shave it grows back in 2-3days...x

  • omg! this video was 3 times toooooo loooong

  • I just love your accent...

  • you are so boring !! you speak to much !

  • @noru85 Rude...there are plenty of more exciting videos on you tube. I'm sure nobody put a gun to your head and made you watch this one.

  • this isn't irrelevant but erm, i have that teddybear bottom left hand corner:')

  • Hi, Loved your review :-*

when you talk about pain, I am like " YAAAA, This girl knows EXACTLY what i feel" XOXO

  • Just a few questions~

Does it hurt less to do it in the bath, or when the hair is dry?

If I shaved before epilating, leaving only stubble here and there, do you think that would make it less painful, especially for pelvic hair?

  • @EbilChiibi have a really hot shower, it works better.

  • does it give you ingrown hairs or prevent them?

  • Are you a newfoundlander?

  • i am doing this right now to my legs & it feels like i'm setting my legs on fire!!!

  • My waxing incident was a disaster too so don't feel bad. lol Hence why I'm watching this video. lol Don't worry you don't sound like a man. Your accent is pretty. :)

  • have you used it anywhere else yet?

  • i know this is a strange question but were you on projet catwalk?

  • i get more ingrowth hairs after i use epiliator though i exfoliate my skin, what sall i do for this ingrowth hairs?

  • If Braun see this you should get a job off them lol! this is a really good video! thanks for a reall review :)

  • you are so cute! i absolutely loved watching this video, and your accent pretty much won me over haha. you have such a cute personality! SUBSCRIBING! =)

  • Since the video is a year old, are you still using epilators?

(Have you tried your underarms yet?)

Or have you gone back to shaving?

PS. Thanks for your review :) I decided to by the same Braun Silk Epil, that you reviewed. I am soooooo nervous though.. omg :S

  • 5:20 I am the same. Because it still shows up in the sun. Especially on the face :S

  • Lol, The Langoliers are coming... Great analogy.

  • I did an area of 5x10 on my stomach, AND IT WAS SO PAINFUL :(

how can I reduce the pain??

    pills? weed?

  • @GovavaValoria the more you use it the less you pain. by the time you use it hair became thicker and less.. i use it on my underarms and it s reeeeeally great!!

  • hi, isit pain for the first time using only?

  • Hairfree? Not true, maybe for people who have teeny tiny hairs and invisible ones? But not for people with average hairgrowth. I have bruises all over my legs and have been unable to use shorts for two years now because of epilating!

  • Epilators are great! :D

  • you can also put an ice pack before you epilate, it will make the area numb for a little while.

i love my epilator! it's the best investment ever IMO.

  • this is really usefull thanks and wow what about if u use it on upper lip hairs?

  • This video was pretty good and informative! I wonder if the epilator would work on thicker coarse hair or male body hair...

  • laser doesnt work!

  • Scottish? :)

  • @AllStateSoprano No xD im scottish she sounds nothing like me or my family she is either irish or welsh.

I think LOL but she dont sound scottish ^_^

  • @AllStateSoprano She is Irish =)

  • This is by far the best review ever, It hepled me so much. Im buying one now - Thanks :)

  • Lol. just a tip

if it hurts dont worry try to take a break and massage your leg (The areas that have no hair anymore)

i have to epilate my arms, and upper/lower legs and i have to take the pain but im loving it :D

  • 1 bath /weel?! ggg. showers dont count btw. u dirty :P

  • I got one after watching your video and I LOVE IT! thank you!

  • I actually find it works better when you take the shower AFTER, just because it doesn't really matter whether or not your pores are open or your skin is soft. I used to get red bumps and ingrown hairs, so after I epilate, I take a shower and I find no bumps and no ingrown hairs because I scrub my skin really well, after.

  • "I almost died." hahaha. I would buy it for bikini area, but if it's that bad on legs...hahaa

  • OMG! i just wanted to know if it works well or not! stop rambling about stupid shit!

  • @eejholz yuh!!! for real?!?

  • @eejholz Oh Shut up, Shes trying to go over everything. Well obviously it works idiot. you dont need to come diss a review to now that.

  • lmao sounds dramatic to say the least

  • I might get one for my shoulders - I have a bit of a Chuck going on at the moment.

  • the pain is not that bad really the worst area is bikini area and the ankles but anywere else isnt so bad

  • love tha accent eee

  • Hey I No This Is Ramdom But Your Make Up Looks Like Reaally Nice Lol Wish I Could Get Mine Like That ???? x

  • how long should the hair be to epilate it? ;)

  • i have dark hair follicles in my legs and ive tried using nair and shaving...will this help me remove all the black dots on my legs?

    thanks

  • you're a lifesaver! thankyou!

  • ok i have a really important question before i buy it..how much time does it past before the hair START to grow again.?????? plz i need an answer!

  • @oOEmanOo it takes about fom 4-6 weeks depends on how fast your hair grows.

  • Nice vid, but for me it's the complete opposite. The Philips models are so gentle and I have no fear pressing them right up against the skin, or having the tender skin get caught between (I also do my pubes). I had 2 philips models which both broke because of the cord, then decided to try the Braun model you have because it's cordless and was appalled at how it mangled my skin. It was actually so bad I couldn't use it any more and went out to buy yet another philips, which I'm happy with again.

  • This was an entertaining video. haha. Thanks for the review.

  • lol @ stuffed animal in background

  • i've tried the veet wax strips, but i had the same problem and couldn't stand waiting for the hair to grow! i've tried removal creams.. they suck haha. i would love the laser treatment..but due to being a college student, i'm quite broke atm. i'm way to scared to try this..lmfaoo. i guess shaving will have to do.

  • My wife hates hiar down there so thanks for the review. I'm gonna try it!!!! :)

  • Epilating Oh my gooodness it is soooo painful!

  • I got a bath...last week :P lol

  • I have a question that I am hoping to get a few answers to just to compare?

I epilate my legs and have been doing so for years now;my hairs grow just as quickly as ever albeit they are thinner.Usually they say use them and it will last for 4 to 6 weeks. Those of you that epilate, how often do you do it?

I have to every single week. 4 to 6 weeks my ass! lol

  • a tip try using the EPILATOR in the mornings the reason so that the body has a higher pain resistance.

  • Wow, a tweezer machine.. I never saw that coming! Great review!

->Just one question- is there any chance of it grabbing onto or pinching your skin instead of the hair? I can handle hair being ripped out but not my skin! :P

  • I just ordered my epilator, Im excited but nervous. Do you still use yours and how has the pain gotten in comparison to the results of using the epilator.

  • epilators work on all hair types, as long as it's long enough. I use it on my legs, arms, back, front.. yes I have hair everywhere...

  • i totally understaind you!! i hate waiting for waxing and stuff and i think i will get a epilator soon!

  • Hi there,

I'm a man who also does not like a hairy body. I shave regularly but was considering an epilator to remove the stuble. Do you think an epilator will work on a man or should I go down the waxing route?

  • did shaving die?

  • I think you're right. But don't you think that ... the second time you epilation was less painful because you have already did it once ?? ..

  • @gerito23 I think so, even if its because you know what to expect. I've used mine for a few months and i don't like it but i feel the results are worth it.

  • she epilates...and its FANTASTIC....loolllz =)

  • your video has really got me interested, i hate shaving because i get little bumps and irritation and waxing is too time consuming, does this irritate your skin at all? Does it ever cut you? I know I cut myself with a razor and such, also is it good for the bikini area, I have got a rather large tattoo on my back and it didnt hurt one bit but I am still nervous about the pain aspect.

  • Wow you are SO pretty! :D

  • I paid £20 for my epilator...I've been doing it for 10 years and I'm on my second epilator. I always buy Phillips because the Braun ones are rubbish. I've used a couple and they are nowhere near as powerful!!!

Always buy Phillips, especiallly with dark, thick hair - you had a bad experience!!

  • what is the second one called?

  • Great video & review, I know what you mean about having threading - absolutely kills! If the braun epilator is less painful than waxing that's pretty good! Is it designed to permanently remove hair after multiple uses?

  • does it work on bikini lines>?

  • Comment removed

  • my hair is really corse do epilators still work ?

  • my hair is really corse do epilators still work ?

  • @1412souki Epilators work best on thicker hair :)

  • @dazzledust25 But it HURTS!

  • @1412souki yes, n im a dude. I just got my epilator today (YEA! dudes epilate 2! gota stay clean for the ladies! lol!) BUT, it does HURT. i was thinkin about smokin a lil herb before i started epilating (as opposed to a pain killer) but i realise now that it would be a very bad idea, best way to go is to just go for it, you might cry tho .

  • @1412souki my hair is very fine as well but it still works

if anything its better because the roots are naturally weak and cause less pain during epilation :D

  • is there a link where i can purchase this?? thanks

  • Honestly even though the new epilator is a better model, it probably just hurt less because you'd already done it. I usually get lazy over winter and shave, come springtime it kills the first time again. But for some reason the second and after are absolutely pain free!

  • good review. and your super cute

  • how can you do it in 20 minutes? wow is that normal cause I do it in like an hour

  • @JanelleKK

lol, it takes me like an hour or so too, and I don't do my whole legs I just do up to my knees, that's how much pain I can tolerate.

  • is it normal to put on makeup if your sick? idk but I always stay in my PJs and stuff

  • while i was overseas a year ago, my cousins introduced me to the epilator and i used it on my legs and almost died!! the pain was horrible. but after a few minutes, it didn't hurt as much and i really enjoyed the smooth skin afterwards! it's also cheaper than waxing and smoother and more comfortable than shaving. now, a year later, i use the epilator all over!!

  • While u use it watch "saw" u will not realise the pain.

  • @mattshadowsfan777 hahhhahaahha

  • Epilating is not painful for me at all. I personally prefe wax epilation because it reduces all hair and it doesn't grow too fast.

  • i am 13 and love your videos and i use phillips and i doesnt hurt at all just feels like you are runnung your hand up your arm i definitely recomend it :)

  • great video x

  • This video was really helpful, thanks! i spend so much on waxing, so i'm definetely going to invest in that epilator! :)
