Man I love thrice I stop listening for a couple of year because after there artist and the ambulance album they start to change their style a little now theyre so soft that I have kinda of lost interest however I do like that they increased there vocals in regard to there faith but they need to stop take a breath and rewind.
Dustin explained in an interview that there is an anagram within the line "Son, imitate death's true face" that helps explain the meaning of this song.
If you sort out the letters, you can come up with "the united states of america".
The rest of the lyrics describe a shame for deaths caused by our government (in a mansion on a hill). The red telephone seems like a reference to the red telephone that links the white house to the military.
i did think that about a tiny bit of the vocal melody in 'burn the fleet' though. super tiny. when dustin sings 'around' in the chorus the second time it's pretty much the same vocal melody for the end of 'warning' (& a few times throughout). it's so small but it really stuck out to me for the longest time and i just wanted to share :)
You have little to no depth of appreciation for art and music, I would say. If you had any sense at all, you would at LEAST listen to the message (and having obviously read prior comments you of course saw the person who commented and said what the anagram in the song was) and take something from it

i actually wish this song was on the album, in my opinion this beats out half of them on the album. This is by far from the worst song, in the album though, the only part that I disliked was the verse of wood and wire and the fact that "talking through glass" had an outro.
Well, Staledorito, I'd say every opinion has its own weight to consider, but yours is coming from a guy who likes nu-metal acts like Seether and Staind, so your opinion is invalidated.
Wow I'm really grad they at least released it to the public, even if it wasn't on the record. I don't know why though, they guaranteed could have fit it on there somewhere. 10 songs seems pretty short to me.
They didn't put this out because they other ten leaked. They wanted something to be saved for the release date. You can get these songs if you buy the CD in stores as opposed to digitally.
This song brings the best of both worlds... (and no im not referring to hannah montanah)... it still has the hardcore feel of Artist and Vheissu, with the acoustic and epic feel of beggars and alchemy. Truly an amazing song.

Does anyone know where I can get just the bonus tracks?

I wish this song took the place of "At The Last." This is just more raw and visceral and kind of fits with the "All the World is Mad" vibe. Oh well.

going along with the "united states of america" anagram...here's my train of thought:
mansion on a hill - white house/capital hill
red telephone - isn't that what's used to dial up nukes?
sum of all fears - nuclear thriller novel
graves/gray land/rain - nuclear fallout?
eeeehhh? how bout it?
