  • *sways side to side* - monks

  • There IS a Genesis version you know.

  • I am a bit surprised that one one is commenting on the incredibly strange bugs displayed on this video. Goro vs Goro (2nd goro being a shadow). Shang tsung vs Shang Tsung? (2nd one being a white outline). I have never seen these bugs...

  • @ROD006 i agree! that was buggy as hell!

  • I like this games music better than the second one because this one doesnt have all that annoying techno music the second one has and it actually fits the games martial arts feel. Also, were both mortal kombat 1 and 2 released the same year,or was this game released in 93 and 2 in 94?

  • were the characters for the game actually real, or were they in 3D?

  • @SpeakMyMind500 Real people fighting

  • @SpeakMyMind500 Real people fighting except goro and all those special fighters

  • @armorghoma oh ok.

  • @SpeakMyMind500 digitalized actors

  • SCORPION!

  • Chose a really bad video to go along with this. :(

  • The first track sounds A LOT Portishead's- 'Machine Gun'

  • You know it's a rememberable game when you walk out with finger blisters.

  • nice videos, but SNES versions? really? when you get these games on the pc or better yet the mighty genesis ?

  • @TasteTheirFeet Sega/Mega CD version had the full arcade soundtrack + The mortal monday theme(and also video) and also Techno Syndrome's classic theme, later used as the Film's theme music. It was all on the game CD, which was also a music CD.

  • totally surpised no1 has done remix's for the original tracks tbh ;(

  • wish i could get hold of each track on cd .... like what killer instnct did ;(

  • @Noshadow83

You can... the SEGA CD version doubled as the full unadulterated Arcade music soundtrack and even came with 2 versions(long and short) of the techno syndrome theme(also known as the movie themesong), as well as including the Mortal Monday video and music track. The version of the game on the same disk, however, is one of the worst ports due to crap loading times. Why not get the rom?

  • @colliric Cheers ;D

  • just doesnt seem the same without the commentater ,perfect bwahahahaha .and that walkies guy in the corner everyso often

  • I remember wanting to get this game in the store when I was a little kid, but my step dad said I couldn't because of the blood and gore. Just as I was about to put it back the store clerk told him you could turn the blood off...so I got it! I'd hate to think how my childhood would've turned out if that store clerk hadn't spoken up. Thank you sir wherever you are!

  • @Aphexwolf aww what a touching story :)

  • Is all this gameplay by you?

  • wow, i remember how i used to rape on the snes mortal kombat... but now i suck at it whenever i even try to play a new mortal kombat game...

  • HADOKEN !!!!!!! ohhh wait wrong game......

  • wow, this is where portishead got inspiration for machine gun, nice :)

  • if anyone can tell me the song where the flute plays and it sounds like a classic kung fu movie please let me know. I've been looking for that song for the longest!!!!

  • why did shang tsung look so old in this game but looked much younger in the other ones?

  • @crucialconflict02 Shao Kahn restored his youth in MK2, after he failed in MK1

  • The, original, MK, is one of the most epic games in the history of video games.

Man I spent hours at the arcade, in 1992, fucking fools up in this game. It was one of the only games I'd ever, really, excelled at. I remember one day, I won 67 straight matches against other people. There was a line to play me lol!

I had a Sega Genisis and it just didn't compare to the arcade. MK is still one of my favorite games of all time!

  • Ed Boon always knew how to put together music that matched the overal theme of Mortal Kombat, and I have yet to play a game that whos in-game music outmatches that of MK's. Even though this game was rated M, my parents grew up playing the game and allowed my then seven year old self to witness my first fatality to Raiden... I wasn't playing as Raiden. It's hard to believe that a game that wasn't intended to be successful by its' creators, is now a muti million dollar success... and still strong.

  • evidently I'm not far in this great collection of video game soundtracks but perhaps you ought to take a look at the arcade versions of the MK games' music. they're pretty awesome.

  • 1:40 Noob Saibot Goro? lol

  • The SNES had better music, but the game was better on the Genesis.

  • time to grab the ak47 and the semi automatic, and go on a killing rampage in new jersey as i listen to all of these themes on my ipod!

  • wts vateletys finishims blood?! nothing to see

  • 1:35 Goro is Noob Saibot lol

  • Does anyone know the name of the first song played? It's pretty cool.

  • MK1 was about it's simple controls and over the top gore, neither of which the SNES had. Looked good, sounded good, played awfully. I could never get the hang of controls, and the thing that MK what it was, the gore, was nowhere to be found.

  • lol...I was the only one of my friends to break diamond...

  • Goro kicked my ASS in this game...I still have yet to beat him T_T

  • does anyone know where i can find these songs? like mp3s of the full songs

or at least song titles or something, preferibly the second song

  • The arcade version is still epic, man look at the characters animation...still look epic...Sub-Zero and Scorpion look too fuckin cool

  • SNES vers sucked balls due to the blood removal.

  • @KennethMoreland yeah wonder y there was only one version of the snes and how many version was there of sega? and who fail at the end?

  • character select theme of MK1 on SNES is still badass to this day.

  • So badass they had to make a fucking rating system!

That's why Mortal Kombat is awesome!

  • ahh the arcade memories :-)

  • Very inspiring...

  • Impressive, thank you very much, I had been looking for this for ages and I could only find the crap OST from the movie!

  • first song = portishead "machine gun"

  • Was the guy playing this asleep or something?

  • Flawless victory!

  • this video is created by sharkdcf not by garudoh

  • Yes... the vide is mine man but i have the credits on description! No probs! Thx!

  • the character select track is the best...the best part of this game was fatalities

  • fuck yeah

  • Character select track is, like they say, outstanding ;)

  • LOL Goro Saibot

  • Only thing missing is Shang Tsungs lair which was my favorite.

  • let's not forget the music of The Palace Gates/Goro's Lair [no Goro] and The Warrior Shrine/The Pit Bottom.

  • Mortal Kombat is a classic. Or "klassik", if you wanna be cool and such.

  • Just first "C" 's are "K" 's lol

  • MK1 have the best music of all other mk

  • MK have the best music of all

  • YEA.. THis is the original right here.. spent SOOOO much money on this at the arcade. Probally best franchise of the 90;s in aracde

  • You should've done the Genesis version, those ones were catchy, unlike the ones in the SNES version.

  • Same.

  • WTF is going on in this video????

  • goro lair is a beast.

  • the games life bar is small. that my

    opinion

  • I think i kinda..tapped my feet at the character select...

    MK FTW!

  • I'm glad to hear "High Score Table" as the first song. One of the best. Sounds like the Terminator.

I couldn't find it directly on YouTube.

  • Toasty!

  • @BLARGHALT

Haha tosty was first on the 2nd one

  • @BLARGHALT

No no no toasty was first on MK2

  • damn i miss the old days when gaming was the shit... i remember having the sega channel and every 2 weeks they would change games automatically... mortal kombat was and always will be the shit... i still have it on the super nes and original sega. it's cool to play when baked the fuck out and with a group of friends just having tournaments.

  • Extra composers: Mark Ganus, H. Kingsley Thurber and Sam Powell, direct from the in-game staff roll under Tune Dudes.

  • the original MK was so dark and fierce, i miss it.

  • @kriegkriegkrieg the music was so funny and awsome and dark to listen to. i had nightmares as a kid just by listening to the theme of the "original" game. MORTAL KOMBAT!!!!!

  • LOL at Liu Kang's cartwheel at 3:58-3:59. xD.

  • Comment removed

  • ooh! the theme of the bridge in 2:57,.. scary theme,

  • what about Goro's theme at 4:38?

When I was a kid, that song used to scare me.

  • oh yes, thats a scary one too!

    when goro appears.

  • i always liked the snes bgm better thks

  • where did you get the soundtracks?!!!

i was searching for this for a long time. fucking awesome.

  • I never really cared for Mortal Kombat much but this brings back lots of memories.

  • Comment removed

  • you forgot the gore.

    abacabb

  • This ain't th' Genesis version, bro

  • 4:44 is so badass

  • GORO

  • LOL GORO SAIBOT!!!!

  • midway should make a HD remix of mortal kombat 2.... these games need to come back to 2d and to use actors again

  • SHORYUKEN....wait....GET OVER HERE!!!!!!

  • There's always been a place in my gaming life for Mortal Kombat. As a kid, my friends and I thought Mortal Kombat was like the most bad-ass thing ever cause of all the blood and fatalities and stuff. I mean, we loved Mario and Sonic, but Mortal Kombat and Killer Instinct were just plain special.

  • Haven't featured any yet, but I will.

  • MK what happened to you?? T_T

  • god i miss the good ol days even though i cant remember much because i was like 5 or 4 when my cousins used to play this all day. I can remember crying when they would not let me play Mk.

  • the pit was the best!

  • The background beat in the first song sounds an awful lot like Machine Gun-Portishead.

  • the SNES versions had the best ports of both arcade games. awesome.

  • how the hell can you use goro?

And i know Reptile is in this game.

after beatin it in some sorta way half way into the game, he challenged you at the bottom of the pit. only happened to me once though

  • u fight reptile when you get two flawless victories and you have to knock your opponent into the pit for the finisher. No fatality. Must be done on the pit stage.

  • You have to do fatality, being knocked into the pit doesn't count as a fatality in MK1 oddly enough

  • Funny thing with me & Mortal Kombat in the past, I was a fan of it, but I never owned any of the games on the old systems. I think becuase of its popularity & the movies that I was into it as a kid.

  • sugar drunk haha noice!

  • mortal kombat 1 has the best character select theme.

  • can you give me the link of that theme.. plz searchin for it long.

  • noob saibot and sub-zero are the best hands down. I have so many tournament memories from this game... we'd stay up all night and get sugar drunk..... hahahahah!!!

  • Alota glitches in the SNES version.

  • you discovered the double goro glitch and shang tsung glitch too...i made a video of these a couple of months ago...it seemed like no one knew this lol. i remember you can have a smoke sub zero too

  • the vid is no more on ur profile?

  • Did Dan Forden really do the soundtrack for the SNES version? IIRC, the games were re-coded for home consoles, so sub-teams like Scuplted Software and Arena did the home ports.

  • Well, his name is in the credits, so that's all I have to go on.

  • @CBXweb No Dan forden didn't Sadly infact he didn't make any of the music for the SNES vers. of mortal kombat but the tracks are still good Though ^_^

  • I loves the 2nd song I have been looking for it for a long a time.

  • i love this stuff man

but where do u get the song files from? i cant find em, can u help?

  • wow those drums in the first song really remind me of "Machine Gun" by Portishead.

  • Yer ma sucked n the 16 bit era.

  • Will you do the music for the other games like mk2, 3, umk3, same thing with street fighter? Also do you know how to do johnny cage's ball breaker? I know it says block+low punch, but all he does is the split and nothing else.

  • Yeah, I'll probably make a video for the other MK games. SF2 already has a video, I think it's entry 95 or something close to it.

  • I know, I mean sequels to street fighter and mortal kombat. What about cage's ball breaker? Do you know how to do it?

  • Oh, I forgot, how come some of the themes aren't in this video?

  • I pick and choose tracks, so not everything is there. As for Cage's move, sorry man, I've got no clue.

  • That's okay. Thanks for the info!

  • Best game ever ty so much!

  • No problem, I aim to please. :P
